I have never had a worse experience at a veterinary office than I have had with this one. I was referred to them and established my 2 dogs there. From the beginning it was clear that there is a lack of communication in this office. It took me about 6 attempts to get an appointment scheduled for both dogs. Then, during their appointment the tech had to go back in 2 times to change my bill because it was more than what I agreed on to pay for. THEN, when my old rescue dog needed a refill on her pain control medication we decided to try a new medication, which the doctor prescribed over the phone without seeing her. The new medication did not work and my dog was in significant pain. I left a message for the vet to call me about it and the next day I talked to the office and I was told the dog had to be reexamined. She had just had a complete work up less than a month before. The manager told me they would not prescribe medications to her without seeing her, even though the doctor already had and she unprofessionally tried to tell me about my dogs history when she clearly had no clue what she was talking about and had no clue about the treatment my dog had had there. Let alone what the doctor and I had previously discussed. She could not explain to me what they would do in the new examination that wasn't previously done before or what more they needed. THEN, I was also told that an invoice from my old veterinarian showing he did a heart worm test, it was negative and that I purchased heart worm medicine 3 months ago could not be used for proof that my dog had a heartworm test. I would have to get another test done, BUT they could and did sell me 1 years worth of heartworm medicine without doing the test. This place wants your money and they do not care about you or your animals well being. I had to re-establish both of my dogs with a new veterinarian all while my dog was suffering. I never even got the chance to speak with the doctor about the new pain control medication not working. I HIGHLY recommend NOT taking your pets to this establishment.

Rita, we are sorry you felt scheduling your appointment was difficult. Unfortunately, due to conflicts in your schedule you did have to reschedule and cancel several appointments, which we tried to accommodate to the best of our ability. After you had alerted us that your dog was still uncomfortable, we requested you come in for a medical progress exam. As discussed with our practice manager, with it being a month since your dog's visit, a lot can change and in order to provide the proper care and proper medication we need to re-evaluate your dog. After being told this, you became very upset and started cursing at our staff. We are sorry that you felt this was unfair, but we do not tolerate abusive behavior towards our team. We have sent your dogs' records to you and we wish you and your dogs the best wherever you choose to seek care in the future.

If my review was based solely on the staff's knowledge and genuine care for animals, I would give five stars. Unfortunately, there are other key factors that impacted my experience, and it is because of these factors that our family will be taking our animals elsewhere. Upon moving to Windsor, my husband and I decided to try bringing both of our animals (dog & cat) to Garden Valley. The cost of our visit was more than any other vet we had every experienced (nearly, $400 including various supplements we were strongly-pushed toward by staff). My husband immediately wanted to go elsewhere, but I convinced him to give a second chance with our cat because the vets are obviously caring and knowledgable. Again, the cost of a visit with our completely healthy cat was nearly $500 with blood testing (we were there we were assured that this is normal practice, apparently not after consulting other vets and pet owners). While there, I was constantly pushed to perform more tests and purchase more supplements. I am someone who has a difficult time saying no when I am told that I should do something for my animals, as I want to give them the best. If you are able to stand your ground and be firm, then this could still be a great vet for you. We wish it could have worked out.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. I've been taking my dogs here since 2011 and have seen Dr. Touran through that entire time. My dogs get fantastic care here whether it is a routine exam, dental care, visit for an allergic reaction, or most recently for surgery. The hospital is always clean and beautiful. The entire staff is kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. I live in Denver but drive here for the small town veterinary experience. They are realistic with treatment options and care, and always follow-up with me after visits.

I have two very different dogs (one loves everyone all the time and one is scared of everything!) and the techs, vets, and boarding staff all do their best to make sure both dogs are comfortable and taken care of! They are flexible (willing to do an exam on my dog outside where she's more calm and comfortable), easy to talk to, caring, kind, and compassionate. I grew up on a farm so have an inherit tendency to be conservative with it comes to vet bills and GVV respects that. They do their best to educate me without making me feel badly if I opt out of a certain vaccine or procedure. Our dogs board there as well and they love it! I love knowing they'll be well cared for in the event of an emergency and they give us a "report card" at the end of the stay which helps ease my mind about their behavior, eating/sleeping habits, and any other notes. Dr. Kloer has been so wonderful and keeps us coming back!

I'm crazy about my pets and wouldn't take them anywhere else. I have a large rottweiler, who is very uncomfortable with being handled and restrained and has been since he was a puppy. We typically see Dr Kloer, but this is true of Dr. Touran and all the staff as well, they are amazing with him and letting me show the cooperative training work I have done with him so we can do exams without him getting stressed or worried. Its to the point that Strider is actually thrilled to see everyone! They have been fabulous for everything from boarding my cats to checking over my newest puppy when she started limping.

We moved to Colorado two years ago with our 3 kitties. The oldest one, was an elderly diabetic cat and we started taking him to Garden Valley. We'd take him there for check ups, buy his speciality food there and take him for boarding. However I didn't realize how amazing this clinic was until 2 weeks ago when it came time to say goodbye to him. He was 14 years old and his body couldn't take anymore. The staff was very caring and helped us thru the process. I cried when the Dr said he had 'gained his wings'. A few days ago we received a sympathy card in the mail from them and to my surprise it was full of hand written notes of memories the staff had of him! I learned he was more than just 'another cat' to them and that he meant something to them too. Thank you to all of you. You have no idea what your thoughtfulness meant to us!

New clean facility with a top notch staff. We loved using Garden Valley for our dog's check ups, shots, and boarding. They went above and beyond to take my dogs when my wife went into labor over a busy 4th of July weekend in 2015. Our dogs always came back from "camp" looking good and excited to see us. I would absolutely recommend Garden Valley to anyone looking for a vet and/or boarding in Northern Coloardo.

The doctor and vet tech were very condescending. They were salesman at their best. Tried to instill fear so that I would over treat my puppy. Quoted us on our first check up at $80, then tried to charge $120. I felt duped and uncomfortable. The doctor would not let us even get a question in. I love my dog and will not bring her back.

This is a quality veterinary hospital and boarding facility. The building is relatively new and well-maintained. I've not needed any emergency veterinary care for my pets, but have found the routine and general care to be of good quality. The doctors have provided me with good advice about caring for my animals.I have boarded my dogs here often and will continue to do so. I like boarding at a facility that is also an vet hospital in case there was a need for emergency care. While I really dislike needing to leave my dogs for boarding, it has been reassuring that after the initial boarding visit, my dogs actually seem to enjoy going here. My dogs don't seem exhausted or stressed when I pick them up, which makes me less stressed to leave them. It is nice to board at a relatively small facility where the staff actually get to know your pets. I also really like the fair boarding rates too. It is not as cheap as the indoor/outdoor run facilities, but that is because you are getting a higher standard-of-care: climate controlled kennels, grassy areas for the dogs when they are taken outside, one-on-one interaction, and a report of how the dogs behaved during their stay.

When, within a week, a person spends almost $500, you certainly do not expect to be charged 3.10 for a can of 5 oz. dog food which they used for a blood test. They have changed vets that I know of, 3 times within 2 years. Absolutely no discount for multiple dogs nor do they work with any rescue groups for discounts. The front office is friendly but the only weight history they had on my dog was from a year ago and I have been in at least once a month for the past three months. I had to ask at that point if we could do a weight check because I knew my dog was losing weight. With another full time vet and one part timer, my attitude is wait and see. In the meantime, I will seek another vet.

If my review was based solely on the staff's knowledge and genuine care for animals, I would give five stars. Unfortunately, there are other key factors that impacted my experience, and it is because of these factors that our family will be taking our animals elsewhere. Upon moving to Windsor, my husband and I decided to try bringing both of our animals (dog & cat) to Garden Valley. The cost of our visit was more than any other vet we had every experienced (nearly, $400 including various supplements we were strongly-pushed toward by staff). My husband immediately wanted to go elsewhere, but I convinced him to give a second chance with our cat because the vets are obviously caring and knowledgable. Again, the cost of a visit with our completely healthy cat was nearly $500 with blood testing (we were there we were assured that this is normal practice, apparently not after consulting other vets and pet owners). While there, I was constantly pushed to perform more tests and purchase more supplements. I am someone who has a difficult time saying no when I am told that I should do something for my animals, as I want to give them the best. If you are able to stand your ground and be firm, then this could still be a great vet for you. We wish it could have worked out.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. I've been taking my dogs here since 2011 and have seen Dr. Touran through that entire time. My dogs get fantastic care here whether it is a routine exam, dental care, visit for an allergic reaction, or most recently for surgery. The hospital is always clean and beautiful. The entire staff is kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. I live in Denver but drive here for the small town veterinary experience. They are realistic with treatment options and care, and always follow-up with me after visits.

I have two very different dogs (one loves everyone all the time and one is scared of everything!) and the techs, vets, and boarding staff all do their best to make sure both dogs are comfortable and taken care of! They are flexible (willing to do an exam on my dog outside where she's more calm and comfortable), easy to talk to, caring, kind, and compassionate. I grew up on a farm so have an inherit tendency to be conservative with it comes to vet bills and GVV respects that. They do their best to educate me without making me feel badly if I opt out of a certain vaccine or procedure. Our dogs board there as well and they love it! I love knowing they'll be well cared for in the event of an emergency and they give us a "report card" at the end of the stay which helps ease my mind about their behavior, eating/sleeping habits, and any other notes. Dr. Kloer has been so wonderful and keeps us coming back!

I'm crazy about my pets and wouldn't take them anywhere else. I have a large rottweiler, who is very uncomfortable with being handled and restrained and has been since he was a puppy. We typically see Dr Kloer, but this is true of Dr. Touran and all the staff as well, they are amazing with him and letting me show the cooperative training work I have done with him so we can do exams without him getting stressed or worried. Its to the point that Strider is actually thrilled to see everyone! They have been fabulous for everything from boarding my cats to checking over my newest puppy when she started limping.

We moved to Colorado two years ago with our 3 kitties. The oldest one, was an elderly diabetic cat and we started taking him to Garden Valley. We'd take him there for check ups, buy his speciality food there and take him for boarding. However I didn't realize how amazing this clinic was until 2 weeks ago when it came time to say goodbye to him. He was 14 years old and his body couldn't take anymore. The staff was very caring and helped us thru the process. I cried when the Dr said he had 'gained his wings'. A few days ago we received a sympathy card in the mail from them and to my surprise it was full of hand written notes of memories the staff had of him! I learned he was more than just 'another cat' to them and that he meant something to them too. Thank you to all of you. You have no idea what your thoughtfulness meant to us!

New clean facility with a top notch staff. We loved using Garden Valley for our dog's check ups, shots, and boarding. They went above and beyond to take my dogs when my wife went into labor over a busy 4th of July weekend in 2015. Our dogs always came back from "camp" looking good and excited to see us. I would absolutely recommend Garden Valley to anyone looking for a vet and/or boarding in Northern Coloardo.

Everyone is so friendly, it's easy to get an appointment at a convenient time, and you can tell they truly care about the pets in their care. I could not recommend Garden Valley more highly!

Quoted us on our first check up at $80, then tried to charge $120. I felt duped and uncomfortable. The doctor would not let us even get a question in. I love my dog and will not bring her back.

This is a quality veterinary hospital and boarding facility. The building is relatively new and well-maintained. I've not needed any emergency veterinary care for my pets, but have found the routine and general care to be of good quality. The doctors have provided me with good advice about caring for my animals.I have boarded my dogs here often and will continue to do so. I like boarding at a facility that is also an vet hospital in case there was a need for emergency care. While I really dislike needing to leave my dogs for boarding, it has been reassuring that after the initial boarding visit, my dogs actually seem to enjoy going here. My dogs don't seem exhausted or stressed when I pick them up, which makes me less stressed to leave them. It is nice to board at a relatively small facility where the staff actually get to know your pets. I also really like the fair boarding rates too. It is not as cheap as the indoor/outdoor run facilities, but that is because you are getting a higher standard-of-care: climate controlled kennels, grassy areas for the dogs when they are taken outside, one-on-one interaction, and a report of how the dogs behaved during their stay.

When, within a week, a person spends almost $500, you certainly do not expect to be charged 3.10 for a can of 5 oz. dog food which they used for a blood test. They have changed vets that I know of, 3 times within 2 years. Absolutely no discount for multiple dogs nor do they work with any rescue groups for discounts. The front office is friendly but the only weight history they had on my dog was from a year ago and I have been in at least once a month for the past three months. I had to ask at that point if we could do a weight check because I knew my dog was losing weight. With another full time vet and one part timer, my attitude is wait and see. In the meantime, I will seek another vet.
