I think I'm kinda rude to not recall everyone's name there since they're the only vet I see. Staff is friendly, love the wife and daughter is cool, dad is okay. His personality at times can come off as a bit cantankerous but they are good people who love the animals. as of right now im giving this vet 5 stars i have a last min appointment tomorrow afternoon seeing my normal vet cant see me due to no appointments for my dog who might possibly have a ear infection in one of his ears from the phone call the doctor seemed very nice an professional i was told by a few people not to go t this vet but i can not base the visit off of others because every animal is different so im giving them a chance to see my dog as a new patient tomorrow i will come back to this web site an change my review once i had my dog seen praying this vet does a good job Read Less

We have a dog who was adopted to us as "special needs," which was a behavioral problem where she is extremely reactive to other dogs and sometimes people when she's leashed. She is a sweetheart in our home but we were concerned about the environment at the vet. Dr. Pooja was extremely helpful, kind, and patient with us. After looking for a Veterinarian for a few months for our Dog and Cat we found Ansonia Westfield Veterinary Hospital which is close to us in Shelton. They are very reasonable when it comes to costs for various procedures and they care about the animals they treat rather than just care about only the money. The reason I point that out is we had a Vet for over 10 years in Stratford that once the original Veterinarian retired and they hired a new one and they became a money hungry, non caring vet to bring our animals to. We are very happy with Ansonia Westfield Vet and will continue to go there. BTW, our dog is 14 years old and has a lot of health issues due to his age and they are great when it comes to helping us keep him comfortable. Read Less

I have been taking all my animals to see Dr Manj for 30 plus years. I always get the utmost care. His breadth of knowledge is extensive and I absolutely trust his methods and above all that he is gentle and thorough with my pet. He will give you all the time you need to ask as many questions as you need answers to. You always feel that he is invested in giving your pet the best care possible. Today I came in for the first time with my kitty on very short notice, and they were able to get us in. She had hurt her paw and Dr. Seetharaman was absolutely wonderful. She made sure my kitty felt safe and was calm before giving her injections, and was also informative about some available vaccines for outdoor/indoor cats. I have had bad luck with my past vet and was happy to find a place full of animal lovers and genuinely kind and helpful people. I will be returning in the future for any medical needs. Read Less

I have brought my puppy to this vet because it always looked busy and right down the street from my house. She was always at her ears like something was bothering her and she would always cry.. I new something was wrong so I brought her in and the dr said she had a ear infection so we put drops in..few days later still the same seems like it got worse brought her in again and he said her ears were fine after 3 visits then I decided to go to a different vet because it seems like she was still in pain but this time worse. They said my poor girl had severe ear mites!! After this doctor checked her ears 3 times and said she was fine!! She was basically on her way to being deaf!! We had found a kitten who must of been hurt by someone or ran over by a car. They gave her a chance and kept her overnight even though things looked bad for her. However she came through and she was on her feet in less than a week. I am blessed that they were there to help when another vet simply said put her down. Read Less

I recently took my cat here because she was hiding and not eating.  Dr. Manju did not properly diagnose my cats very serious condition.  He gave her anti-biotics because gums were infected.  She still did not improve.  I took her back and had bloodwork done on his advice.  He kept saying we can't know anything till we see blood results. While there the second time he heard her breathing hard and asked me if she was doing that at home and I said yes, what could that be?  He said very dismissively  "we could sit here all day and say what if...  we have to see bloodwork"  Bloodwork came back ok but she still wasn't improving.  Also want to mention, they want you to call them and report back ... they don't do any follow up there.So since I didn't like him AT ALL I took her to another vet for a second opinion.  Doctor took one look at her in cat carrier and said this cat has a very serious lung problem.  She needs a chest x-ray right away.  Come to find out, her whole body was a big tumor.  One lung non-funcitonal and the other only half functional.  She was on death's door and suffering to breathe.  I had to put her down right there and then. Dr. Manju DID NOT properly diagnose her.  He should have listened to her chest.  Daughter Pooja originally examined her the first time and said she was in good shape for 14 years old!!!! We took our dog there last week to get some sort of rash looked at. Dr. Manju was absolutely great. He was easy to talk to and was quick in diagnosing our dog's problem. Dr. Manju is unprofessional, rude, and insensitive to pet owners who are in difficult situations. Instead of offering helpful advice, he is critical and harsh. He also pushes the expensive pet foods he carries when there are other alternatives available. Definitely not recommended. Read Less

The long letter MissJessica wrote I could not understand what she was trying to say. I have been going to Dr.Manj for years and I have 2 Shepards. He never muzzled my dog (EVER). I do agree that he is frank and tells us the way it is and I like that better than beating around the bush. He is funny and my 3 kids love him. I dont have any reason not to recommend him to all. I don't even know where to begin explaining how terrible this vet is. Dr. Manju is the most unprofessional and frankly ignorant doctor I have ever encountered. I took my two year old dog in for a check up. The comments that I heard from the Doctor where not only rude and unethical but down right offensive. We began talking about how my breed of dog is stubborn. The doctor said "It's like a 15 year old girl. If her parents don't train her properly, she'll turn on bad." I shrugged that one off. Then I was told flat out that "Your dog is fat." Unprofessional yes, but I also shrugged that off. Then came the kicker. The doctor said "Its like putting ten really fat people in a room and ten really skinny people in another room, the fat people are more aggressive and stubborn." I was sickened. I had to walk away. His staff was very apologetic. I think that even they were disgusted with his behavior. However, he never came out to apologize even after I made his staff aware that we will never be returning nor will my family members with pets. If you are looking for a place to take your animal, do not give this man your hard earned money. I am SHOCKED to read these positive reviews. My animal wasn't even treated with respect. The doctor immediately muzzled him and left him muzzled during his twenty minute rant about fat people. When my dog tried to remove the muzzle with his paws the doctor slammed him down on the table. His comments were offensive and the way he handles the animals is disgusting. I reported him to the Connecticut State Board of Veterinary Medicine. Hopefully others will realize this man is not fit to be caring for animals or carrying out intelligent, respectable conversations.DO NOT take the animal that you love to this man. Read Less

I have multiple pets and am going to AWVH for the past 3 years. Dr.Manj is very good with all my animals including my 4year old PIT. Two previous vets could not handle him with out knocking him. Dr.M is very frank, explains things in my language and treats me like a human. His fee is very reasonable and I cannot ask for anything more.Dr.M keep up the good work. I have been going to Dr.Manj for the past 5 years. I am 74 years old and have been to at least 7 different Veterinary Hospitals. This hospital is very caring and has a personal touch. Dr.Manj uses his brain and experience to make a diagnosis rather than expensive test,x-rays,Ultra sound etc etc. He explains everything and more than that he takes time to listen.
