As long as I live in this area, I will never take my pets to anyone other than Dr. Goldman. Not only is he a smart, informed, caring vet who loves animals and is kind to their people, but everyone he hires is the same. His practice takes excellent care of both their veterinary patients and their families.
Every time my cats go in for an appointment with Dr. Goldman, it's like they're visiting old friends who treat them with gentleness, love and excitement at seeing them again. Terry at the front desk greats us with enthusiasm and always has a minute or 2 to catch up since last time we saw each other. Jessica welcomes us enthusiastically with lots of pets (for the cats, sickos), as though it's been only a couple of weeks since we were all singing karaoke together. Then Dr. Arnie comes in, pets the cats and the thermometer party starts. (Granted, that part is less fun for the cats.)
My cats haven't needed any extraodinary care (other than an ear polyp one of them had in her youth but that turned out okay), but now that they're reaching their dotage, I know I can trust Dr. Goldman not only to take excellent care of them, but tell me the truth. I know this because when I first moved to Canton 14 years ago, I had a beloved elderly cat with kidney disease. I explored treatments such as getting her a kidney transplant (not feasible at 18 1/2) and with the utmost compassion, Dr. Goldman helped me understand what could and couldn't be done to improve her quality of life in her last days.
Toward the end, Dr. Goldman taught me how and when to give her fluids, which added a few weeks of good days. He was there when she passed the point of palliative treatment to gently usher her across the rainbow bridge while I pet her for the last time. His staff pressed her little foot in clay so that I'd always have something of her.
I never hesitate to board my cats at his facility when I travel because I know Dr. Arnie loves them and will make sure they're cared for with the same love and concern they get at home.
You can trust Dr. Goldman's practice to treat your pets with the same care and concern that you feel for your furry family members.

I have been taking my animals to Canton Animal Hospital for years. Dr Arnie and all of his staff are educated, knowledgeable, kind, friendly and fun. If your pet has any problem at all, he recommends diagnostics in a rational, stepwise direction that isn't excessive or lacking. I trust him.
He also recommends routine dental care. Dental disease affects animals in the same way it can affect us, and it shouldn't go untreated.
Have you ever seen Dr. Arnie on the local tv channel? Well oftentimes he's there, educating the public on animal care and other issues relating to our pets. Every time I bring my animals for visits, I see at least three people in the exam room at various times, sharing ideas and offering assistance. Don't be surprised if he references new material that's cutting edge in veterinary medicine. I've had some sad experiences with vets, which shook my confidence. Since I've been going to Canton Animal Hospital, I've always felt my pets had the best possible care.
I have never felt overcharged, not once. This office has integrity and isn't out to exploit your vulnerability.
My pets are my family, and I love them like children. I wouldn't take them to an office that treated them any differently than I do. I've seen that level of compassion and dedication from this staff. If I hold them in such high esteem, it's because they have never let me or my family down.

I can't believe the negative reviews for this vet so I had to add my 2 cents worth (5 stars). Dr. Goldman was our vet many years ago but we have moved out of the area. Back then, my biggest impression of him was how he acted that he loved my pets just as much as I do. The affection he would show towards my pets was amazing. Got great veterinary care there, the office staff was great and the prices were right in line with everyone else. Would still be going there if I lived in the area.

Dr. Goldman and staff are consummate professionals who deliver state of the art veterinary care to their patients. He has taken care of all of my animals for years - including our beloved retriever who had cancer - and he has never failed us. His standards are very high and his expectations of owners are high as well. If you are a conscientious pet owner and want the very best for your animals, then there is no better place than Canton AH and Dr. Goldman. If you treat your animals like inanimate objects and want the cheapest treatment around, look elsewhere. I can't believe the other reviewers here - there is clearly a backstory that they are deliberately not detailing. And the airplane complaint? Right - as if Dr. Goldman is going to put his own beloved pet at risk. Bottom line: the best diagnostician, the best surgeon, and the best pharmacy are right there on Rt 44 in Canton.

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the negative reviews of this business. I couldn't have had a more opposite experience. I found the Vet and ALL the staff as accommodating as possible...and I mean that literally. The staff could not have been more caring, could not have been more attentive, and could not have cared more. Staff sat with us on the floor to make our kitten comfortable, the vet kissed the kitten multiple times. The vet offered to save us a few dollars when they realized that the cost was a little straining to us. I am in retail and I deal with customers all day long, this considerable experience has taught me a few things with one being that some people you simply cannot make happy and they are usually the first to voice their dissatisfaction...warranted or not. I suggest you, at the very least, invest the time to call the Canton Animal Hospital and form your own opinion.

I don't think vets should get away with giving sub-par spay jobs to shelter animals, and then relinquish all responsibility once the animal is adopted because it technically has a "new owner". Canton Animal Hospital is bad news. After adopting my dog from the shelter and finding infected internal stitches sticking out everywhere, I called them and asked them to at least look at it since they did it. They said I would need to pay for an appointment then, and any medical treatment needed, since the dog had 'changed hands'. What's stopping them from giving sub-standard treatment to shelter animals and running this scam to get more money once they're adopted? Nothing, and it's sad and shameless.

Adopt Dont Shop. And don't support a vet who takes his boston terrier in his airplane at high altitudes knowing they could suffocate because of there shortened nose space. Any vet can tell you this!! He only caters to breeders of "pure-bred" and cares more about $ then animals!!!

I had a horrible experience with Canton Animal Hospital and Dr. Goldman. First of all, he is an absolute miserable person to deal with. He is arrogant and talks down to his customers, almost as if he is lecturing you. My dog was in the hospital for a few days and Dr. Goldman made it seem like it was an unreasonable request to get a daily update. He basically told us to stop calling him and he'd talk to us in a few days. Talk about compassion when your pet is really sick. The last complaint in related to the bill. If you go to Dr. Goldman, be ready to be gouged. His prices are way too high. I have a couple vet friends who unfortunately live out of state. I showed them the bill and they couldn't believe the prices he charged for even simple things like medication. Trust me, this Dr. will take advantage of you at a time when you have no choice but to care for your pet. He is a horrible person.

As long as I live in this area, I will never take my pets to anyone other than Dr. Goldman. Not only is he a smart, informed, caring vet who loves animals and is kind to their people, but everyone he hires is the same. His practice takes excellent care of both their veterinary patients and their families.
