Dr Peese's compassion and sensitivity eased my pain after making the decision to put my ferret to sleep. She took the time to explain the process and assure me he wouldn't feel any pain. She was very knowledgable about ferret treatment which isn't easy to find. I am so happy I found this vet and would not hesitate to give them the highest recommendation.

A great trustworthy place to bring your pet, i have brought friends animals here when they were feeling sick and got great results and care, along with my own animals, i just recently got two cats spayed and not one problem with either surgery, very prompt and informative, when i even had a question they had me bring her in for a check up no questions asked free of charge, i would recommend this vet to anyone around the chester area, staff is very nice knowledgeable and always willing to help, very pleased with my visits here.

I have been bringing all of my animals to Chester Vet for 25 years. I have never ever had a less than stellar experience. Their knowledge, compassion, care and concern is way above what would be expected. Dr. Ficke brought my much beloved Puerto Rican rescue back from death's door when he was a pup. One of the technician's own dogs donated blood to my dog as he was the closest match to Gray's breed and would give him the best chance at survival. Would not go anywhere else and recommend to all that I know.

Dr Flowers is the best general practice veterinarian I have ever met. She is honest, fair, and very knowledgable. You can't go wrong. We have tried other practice closer to home and have gone back because of the service and care our pets have revived here over the past twenty years. I know that it is hard when losing a part of your family and suspect that many reviews may be written with a broken heart and not from a clear mind. One doctor put my 12 y.o. Golden through a week long series of seriously painful injections, assuring my this would cure my dog's "bladder infection." When I had to have her euthanized there a week later, one of the other doctor's informed me that my girl in fact had been suffering from kidney failure. While not curable, a simple test would have diagnosed the real issue, and at least we could have made her end of life comfortable, rather than what resulted, which was her being unable to move, and having to lay in her own urine and vomit. In fairness I do recommend Dr. Ficke and Dr. Peese, who are extremely knowledgeable and thorough.

We have been using Chester Veterinary Clinic since 1996, and have been delighted with the care we have received throughout the years. Our pets are always treated with great kindness and respect, receiving the best medical care available.
As pet parents, we are always made to feel relaxed and comfortable by everyone at Chester Veterinary Clinic. We have been through many tough situations with Dr. Flower, Dr. Fricke, and Dr. Peese through the years, and the doctors and all the staff have always been there to help us do what is best for our pets. We are always confident that the recommended procedures are appropriate, and they never do anything that is unnecessary, always taking things one step at a time. We have been through many pet children through the years, and everyone at Chester Veterinary Clinic have been with us every step of the way.
We would truly be lost without all of you. There are no words to thank you for all you have done for us and our pets. You are the best!

I cant say enough nice things about Chester Veterinary Clinic. We have used them for 20 plus years and have always had the best experiences. Most recently we lost our beautiful golden of 13 years, everyone there was so compassionate, you knew they also cared about her.
From the minute you walk in the door or call on the phone no matter who you speak to they treat you with such kindness. Chloe didn't like to go to the vet, but she loved the staff and Dr. Flower.
I don't know how to thank you all for everything you always do, but please know that it is much appreciated. I am sure our new baby will also love Chester Vet!

The Vets and staff are fantastic! I did not grow up with dogs but, became a "dog mom"in my late 20s. Chester vet has helped me though every stage of "doggie parenthood" ;) They quickly diagnosed Thurman, my late lab, with Addison Disease when he was just a puppy and guided me through treatment to give him 9 happy and healthy years of life. When I rescued my current senior dog, she needed a large mammary tumor removed and teeth extracted. Chester Vet successfully performed this surgery at an extremely affordable cost to the rescue organization (Running for Rescues). I'm very grateful to have such a wonderful and caring practice in my town!

I recently brought my very ill and aging dog here. After discovering that her kidneys were failing, I decided not to do the recommended IV treatment due to her advanced age. I feel she is too old to torture her away from her family with a week long IV treatment that may or may not even help. I picked up some antibiotics for a UTI and specifically asked if there were any dietary changes I could make that would be easier on her kidneys, and I was told "no". My heart kept telling me to just google it and a quick search resulted in very specific (and simple!) changes I could make that would not only make her feel better but could prolong her life. I am well aware that I cannot "fix" her kidneys, but I can't understand why they wouldn't suggest something that would at least make her feel better.

I would highly reccommend Dr. Ficke for his compassion, experience, empathy for the pet, and the family. I have had excellent communication with him, great response and communication from the very friendly and helpful staff. The doctor offered to mail my dog's medication so I could avoid a trip in, has called meds in to my local pharmacy again helping me stay close to my dog at home. He offered hope and optimisim where another might not have. Sometimes this is the most important quality of all. The office hours are unsurpassable! My dog is doing well, I am so glad I found Dr. Ficke and my dog is too! Thanks!!

I have been bringing all of my animals to Chester Vet for 25 years. I have never ever had a less than stellar experience. Their knowledge, compassion, care and concern is way above what would be expected. Dr. Ficke brought my much beloved Puerto Rican rescue back from death's door when he was a pup. One of the technician's own dogs donated blood to my dog as he was the closest match to Gray's breed and would give him the best chance at survival. Would not go anywhere else and recommend to all that I know.

We have tried other practice closer to home and have gone back because of the service and care our pets have revived here over the past twenty years. One doctor put my 12 y.o. Golden through a week long series of seriously painful injections, assuring my this would cure my dog's "bladder infection." When I had to have her euthanized there a week later, one of the other doctor's informed me that my girl in fact had been suffering from kidney failure. While not curable, a simple test would have diagnosed the real issue, and at least we could have made her end of life comfortable, rather than what resulted, which was her being unable to move, and having to lay in her own urine and vomit. In fairness I do recommend Dr. Ficke and Dr. Peese, who are extremely knowledgeable and thorough.

We have been using Chester Veterinary Clinic since 1996, and have been delighted with the care we have received throughout the years. Our pets are always treated with great kindness and respect, receiving the best medical care available.
As pet parents, we are always made to feel relaxed and comfortable by everyone at Chester Veterinary Clinic. We have been through many tough situations with Dr. Flower, Dr. Fricke, and Dr. Peese through the years, and the doctors and all the staff have always been there to help us do what is best for our pets. We are always confident that the recommended procedures are appropriate, and they never do anything that is unnecessary, always taking things one step at a time. We have been through many pet children through the years, and everyone at Chester Veterinary Clinic have been with us every step of the way.

I cant say enough nice things about Chester Veterinary Clinic. We have used them for 20 plus years and have always had the best experiences. Most recently we lost our beautiful golden of 13 years, everyone there was so compassionate, you knew they also cared about her.
From the minute you walk in the door or call on the phone no matter who you speak to they treat you with such kindness. Chloe didn't like to go to the vet, but she loved the staff and Dr. Flower.
I don't know how to thank you all for everything you always do, but please know that it is much appreciated. I am sure our new baby will also love Chester Vet!

The Vets and staff are fantastic! I did not grow up with dogs but, became a "dog mom"in my late 20s. Chester vet has helped me though every stage of "doggie parenthood" ;) They quickly diagnosed Thurman, my late lab, with Addison Disease when he was just a puppy and guided me through treatment to give him 9 happy and healthy years of life. When I rescued my current senior dog, she needed a large mammary tumor removed and teeth extracted. Chester Vet successfully performed this surgery at an extremely affordable cost to the rescue organization (Running for Rescues). I'm very grateful to have such a wonderful and caring practice in my town!

I recently brought my very ill and aging dog here. After discovering that her kidneys were failing, I decided not to do the recommended IV treatment due to her advanced age. I feel she is too old to torture her away from her family with a week long IV treatment that may or may not even help. I picked up some antibiotics for a UTI and specifically asked if there were any dietary changes I could make that would be easier on her kidneys, and I was told "no". My heart kept telling me to just google it and a quick search resulted in very specific (and simple!) changes I could make that would not only make her feel better but could prolong her life. I am well aware that I cannot "fix" her kidneys, but I can't understand why they wouldn't suggest something that would at least make her feel better.

I would highly reccommend Dr. Ficke for his compassion, experience, empathy for the pet, and the family. I have had excellent communication with him, great response and communication from the very friendly and helpful staff. The doctor offered to mail my dog's medication so I could avoid a trip in, has called meds in to my local pharmacy again helping me stay close to my dog at home. He offered hope and optimisim where another might not have. Sometimes this is the most important quality of all. The office hours are unsurpassable! My dog is doing well, I am so glad I found Dr. Ficke and my dog is too! Thanks!!
