Very insensitive. My 15 year-old cat developed diabetes and was very sick, so we sat down with the vet to discuss the bad news. She started to explain the insulin process and where to get it, but I had to ask what the other options were first. She snapped back rudely "THIS is your option, there are no other options!" I replied that the cat is very old and I'm not sure that this is what is best for the cat. Not to mention my wife had recently been laid-off from work & we were dead broke. She then told me that I was wrong, the cat was only 9. (I've had the cat since she was a kitten, I KNOW her age.) She was completely unwilling to discuss the possibility of putting her down. Apparently, this vet would prefer a slow miserable death for my cat if insulin is not an option for us. Fortunately, the next vet I called was wonderful, respectful, and very compassionate. Not only did that vet discuss options with me, he also suggested that based on all the factors, putting her down might be the most humane option. Read Less
