I went to Noahs Arc for the first time yesterday (4/28/20) and couldn't be happier, now that I have experienced compassion and kindness from this vet. I switched vets because my old vet (Mill Plain Vet Clinic), also on Mill Plain Rd in Danbury, had always been rude and made me feel very guilty about not bringing in my cats every 6 months for a checkup etc. just so they can charge me an arm and a leg, only find out that my cats are healthy. I don't doubt that they have very qualified Dr.s but customer service (an industry I'm all too familiar with), and being nice, is something they should practice much more. Plus they charge more than any other vet I researched. So needless to say I will not be going back and I don't recommend them, good riddens to people who are rude, mean and insensitive! Life is too short for people like that, particularly when they are there to take care of a family member. I own two indoor cats, Lolli, 11 years old and the Moodle, 5 years old. Lolli had been throwing up a few times for the past couple weeks. I took her to Noah's and they examined her right away and suggested options to make her feel better. They suggested blood work at first, but also suggested we rule out diet as a cause to her upset stomach. They provided a couple cans of food for her to try for a week to see if this had any effect on Lolli. Dr. Kristine Sobel, was very thorough and explained the importance of blood work but perhaps just as important to me was ruling out possible causes before spending hundreds of dollars on an old cat - please don't get me wrong, I love animals and have had pets all my life but putting food on the table for my family must take priority, particularly in these Covid-19 days. So I can't say enough positive things about my first experience with Noah's Arc. I can only hope that this first time experience is indicative of the future . Thanks to Noahs Arc for the kindness and compassion they provided for Lolli and myself. Well done, you will be highly recommended! Read Less

"Joan C" felt I had to respond as I am one of the owners whose dog died that you have decided to call malicious. You are correct-you don't know the facts. But we do. We have shared our story not to put them out of business but because we want no other family or animal to go through what we did. We lost our baby and it has changed our lives. You have decided to shame us even though we must assume you don't have the records from the vet of what actually occurred. If you do, maybe you can read them and then share your opinion of what actually happened. We would be happy to give you them if you were to give us your real name. You should be ashamed of yourself. We hope you never go through what our family did. Read Less

I have been a client of Noah's Ark in Dabury for several years and felt I needed to post this. There have been some abrasive reviews of the hospital as well as one of the veterinarians over the past few weeks.  Although I share the pain of the owners who lost their beautiful dog, trying to destroy a business and a well respected veterinarian go beyond human understanding.   In all the years I have brought my dog there and sat in reception, all I have witnessed is the compassion and caring of every staff member.  I understand that this was a terrible loss and tragedy to the owners, however, I am certain it was never intentioned and just a terrible accident.  The owners, however, seem to wish to destroy a business and a veterinarian.   That is intentional and malicious.  It will not bring their pet back, nor will it serve to bring about any positive change. Let's stop the finger pointing.  After all, we dont have the full knowledge of how this came about. Read Less

Our family will continue to do everything we can to spare another family from the absolute sorrow we are going through. Dr Pia recommended dental cleaning for our beautiful healthy dog Zach. Someone turned up the anesthesia to more than double and she has stated “no one will fess up”. We were not called when our Zach had to be given chest compressions to be brought back to life. We were told at 4:00 to pick him up at 5 as he was “ready”. Waited in the waiting room 40 minutes. Was then told by Dr Pia we should bring Zach to the hospital to be “monitored”. There was no monitoring. We transported Zach to the hospital ourselves. The hospital said he was in critical condition. They felt he suffered a stroke. They showed us x-rays showing his brain swollen and one lung collapsed. Two hours later he passed away. We can only hope our beautiful, kind, gentle soul Zach died so other animals don’t. Read Less

A while back our cat had a bump on the back of his ear and it turned out to be Cancer and Joanna and doctor Pia caught it and the surgery wash a success! Last month our same cat was loosing weight and we brought him down. They were so wonderful at the front desk I can't even tell you as phones were ringing and people were coming in they handled everyone their with care and love. As the care and tests which my wife and I felt were needed as Dr. Pia advised us for our cat ended up having pancreatitis and within a couple weeks he is back to himself just wanted to write how happy my wife and I are for the people at Noah's. I am not a client, but work at a veterinary office in PA. They called with a question on a request we sent them for one of our clients. It was during lunch time, so I was the only receptionist at the desk at the time. I had 2 other phones on hold, so they had to hold as well. They called 3 separate times, instead of holding or calling back when we were less busy. The 3rd time I asked her to hold, she proceeded to yell at me and tell me "this is ridiculous!" She asked "what if this was an emergency?!" I apologized and let her know I was the only receptionist currently. She cut me off before I could even let her know what I would have done if a client said they had an emergency. To clarify, if an owner had called and said it was an emergency, I would NOT have put them on hold. She then said, in an extremely rude manor, that she just had a question. The fact that whomever I was talking to from that office could treat someone in the same field with such disrespect is despicable. I did nothing wrong to her but ask her to hold due to actual important matters, such as owners with pets having issues that I needed to ask a doctor about. To have no sympathy or respect for another veterinary practice employee really shows the type of care this facility provides. Read Less

I can't say enough!! I had had very bad experience at my previous vet and did not go back. A couple months before it was time for her next check up, I woke up to a very distraught cat. I was fearful because I looked up online and it said kidney failure. I called and they found time in a FULLY BOOKED day to fit me in! The entire staff was amazing and comforting. I was a crying mess and they told me I wasn't crazy, handled both my pet and my needs (in way of explanation). Even though I was an emergency visit, I NEVER felt rushed. Every staff member had my cat's well being and happiness in mind the entire day. This is VERY hard to find these days. I will not only be going back: I will be recommending this place to anyone who will listen! It was only a UTI but no one acted one ounce condescending or unconcerned. At one point the Doctor actually mentioned achieving both mine and my cat's happiness. To Dr. Pia and the entire staff, I can't thank you enough!!! You made this crazy cat mom not feel crazy and really treated my fur baby as I would hope anyone would!!!! 50 stars!!! Read Less

Their staff is extremely professional, especially Dr. Jeffrey Hubsher and Dr. Pia Hiekkaranta. I recently had one small issue with the customer service and had a few questions regarding the price of their heart worm medication. Dr. Hubsher called me several times to discuss the issues. Once we had the opportunity to chat, I was able to clearly address my concerns. He was very respectful and we were able to resolve each issue. He even went as far as to offer a price discount on my next purchase of flea and tic medicine. The technicians also do a great job while administering medicine and vaccinations. Very disappointed in this clinic. After going there for years with all of our  pets, we took a stray kitten in for a check up and to make arrangements to her her spayed. After a 2 minute exam, we were presented with 2 bills. One for almost $200 for  unnecessary services ("her ears are dirty so she might have ear mites and  here is some medicine for $38, and here is another $40 for an antibiotic for some scabs that might become infected") and another bill for the spaying for $364. Almost $600 for trying to do the right thing. Needless to say we declined, and  left after paying for the "thorough" exam she received. We have found a new vet now, who actually spent over 30 minutes with the kitten, and came to a much different conclusion than the Noah's ark vet did. No ear mites.  No infected scabs. Complete exam(also finding a broken tooth...something that they missed at NA) and lab work for $120. A far cry from the $200 NA wanted to charge. Needless to say we will not be back. Not sure what happened to this place, but we work too hard for our money to pay it out for treatments that are not necessary. Read Less

Boarded my dog here once and told them if for any reason my dog needs medication while there to call me first. Sure enough we go to pick up the dog after our vacation and they wanted to charge me for some medication. I asked why they didn't call me and they said they did. I didn't see their number on my caller ID and didn't have a voice mail from them. We had also said no to the Lyme Vaccine while there and received a call from one of the head male workers there later that night and he asked why We said no. I said I just didn't want it. He tried selling me on many other treatments and I kept saying no thanks. He then said to me, "don't you love your pet?"  "Is money an issue when it comes to your pet?" This place was all about bringing money in and the receptionist needed lessons on being polite. I will never go there again and always recommend the place down the street just west of them. I cannot begin to tell you how upset and disgusted I am with Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital in Danbury, CT. I wanted to adopt a cat that was in a cage at the office. I held him and fell in love with him. I spoke to the staff and gave them my contact information as they requested. I was put on a wait list but only one person was ahead of me. I called for 3 days to find out the status of the adoption. I was given different responses from the staff. One person said that I was going to be offered the adoption and to call back the next day as the person who is handling the adoption was not in. I called the next day and they said, again, she still wasn't in but to call back early the following morning. So I called the next morning and was informed that I could not adopt this beautiful little boy because I wasn't a "client." Are you kidding me? That little guy was in their office for several months and you are going to deny him to someone who wants to take him home and provide him with love and care? I have NEVER heard of such a thing. Then the vet doctor called my friend who asked to speak with him about this because she couldn't get over the fact that the staff could be so misleading and misinformed. All the vet was interested in was recouping the expenses for this little guy; the boarding, food, exams, shots, etc. Gee, I thought you took care of him because you love animals. How do you expect to recoup the $800+ from a client? By charging him or her more money every time they brought the cat in for a visit? What happened to caring about animals and doing what's best for them? Obviously, Noah's Ark lost sight of what's important. How sad. These veterinary offices make plenty of money. How dare you be so self absorbed and worry about "recouping the expenses" for this sweet animal! I am so sad and livid at the same time. They should be ashamed of themselves and the staff needs to get their information straight so they don't mislead anyone in the future. Read Less

We started coming here with our puppy in March 2016. Right away, Dr. Pia figured out what was going on with our pup and provided the correct treatment. We came from a different vet that we spent over $500 treating him to things that were very obvious not the cause of his distress. So, four stars for Dr. Pia in figuring it out on the first go around. I don't necessarily agree with the calming pills before the vet appointment as I like to give my pup as little medication as possible, which is why I didn't give the 5 stars. Also Alyssa G --- You were holding your kitten to keep him/ her calm during the exam. If two strangers are poking around at your kitten, chances are it's going to be scared out of its mind.  With you holding him/ her, you are providing a sense of security that a vet tech can't do. We adopted a 5 year old Love Bird. I called Noah's Ark (which had come recommended to us by several "bird" people). I must say we were very pleased with the service we got! Our little girl had never been handled in her 5 years of life~~~but they were wonderful with her!! Especially the vet tech Brett. I was told he has multiple birds himself, and so I felt quite comfortable with him handling her. They gave her a thorough exam, and also trimmed her wings for me so that I could easily handle her! Dr. Pia was the veterinarian that checked our Bella. Dr. Pia and Brett were both very kind and patient and answered all my questions. I also appreciated that Brett told me if I had any further questions to give him a call and he would be happy to answer them. I will also say that I was quite surprised by the cost as well~~~very reasonable!!! Thank you so much Dr. Pia & Brett for your help with Bella. She is coming along nicely and surprisingly looks forward to being held! Still working on the biting thing~~~but it has become very tolerable!!! Thanks again~~~Jo-Ann Moriarty Read Less

So pleased with Noah's Ark Animal Hospital in Danbury. I actually come from NY to have my puppy Daisy cared for by Dr. Pia and staff. Everyone is so friendly, particularly Missy at the front desk. What a fantastic way to start your visit by her greeting! Dr. Pia is terrific, knowledgeable and just plain kind. You can tell this office loves animals and is not snooty in nature. Dr. Pia gives you her time and you never feel rushed. She actually gave me what she referred to as "the puppy talk" - terrific orientation of puppy care and how to establish good practices and routines with my puppy. I have had several dogs over my lifetime and NEVER had that kind of thorough discussion and that degree of time taken with me. I was blown away. Veterinary care the way it is supposed to be = Noahs Ark Animal Hospital in Danbury CT. PS. The prices are very fair considering what I have paid at other places. Another thing I thought was incredible - Daisy recently got spayed and the price was VERY inexpensive compared to other dogs I have gotten spayed years before! They discount spay/neuter services as their way of encouraging responsible pet ownership and helping to eliminate the over population of companion animals. I think that is so terrific. Where do you see a vet office setting this kind of example? Amazing! Highly recommend! Pamela R. Read Less

I brought my baby kitten, Loki, here for his first checkup. Everyone there was so sweet and treated him like family. The receptionist saw he was a bit jittery, so she gave him treats and a laser pointer toy. We have been taking our cat, Jumbie, to Noah s Ark (the sister hospital to South Salem Animal Hospital) for the past 7 years since moving to the area.  Over the years Jumbie has been so lucky to be treated by the amazing doctors and team at Noah's Ark, and to able to stay at the "cat hotel" when we needed to board her.  Jumbie was a large feral cat and could be extremely aggressive when she was not happy, so the fact that all of the veterinarians and staff were so wonderful with her speaks volumes about their practice and about each of them individually.  We were beyond heartbroken last week when we lost Jumbie to kidney disease.  The only thing that made that difficult time manageable was the kindness of Dr. Hubsher, Dr. Grader and the entire staff at both Noah s Ark and South Salem Animal Hospital.  They made her final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible, and they could not have been more kind and generous to my husband and me.  We do not have any children, so we will likely open our home to more furry kids again soon, and look forward to bringing them to Noah s Ark so that they get the best care from the best team!  No words could ever adequately express our appreciation for all that they have done for us, and we would recommend them to anyone who wants the very best for their furry friends.

Read Less

Read Less

A little over 7 months ago, I started bringing my dog Ollie to Noah's Ark Animal Hospital. I could not be more satisfied with the care and service they've given me and my dog. I will continue to go to Noah's Ark for many years to come. Read Less

Can't believe how much money I'm saving now. My dog is happy and healthy. Read Less

Sadly, I am moving to another state and will have an extremely hard time finding a vet that fills their shoes. Their staff is one of a kind, there aren't enough words to describe how much I cherish this place. They have become family for me and my animals (and not in a bad way haha).

Pamela R. Read Less
