waited over a half hour past my scheduled appointment time for my dogs to be seen for annual exam. scheduled my dog to be spayed, and they told me to bring her in between 8am and 8:30 am for drop off, apparently they are closed at 8:00 am, and no one answered the door when I showed up - they later said i was a 'no show' and refused to book another spay appt. seem to be pretty disorganized... I have been taking my chi here since day one. She is now 6 years old. I am a bit obcessive when it comes to my Bonita. I take her there frequently. I trusted them to do their best by her. A few years ago I asked if she should have a dental cleaning. I was told,I will not name the vet, that it wasn't necessary. If nothing's wrong leave it alone. Her teeth look great. Well...as I was brushing her teeth I saw brown on her gum with 2 teeth lose. Called a different vet. To shorten the story Bonita had to have 4 teeth pulled and some bone removed. She has had her yearly physicals. And on the average is at the vet 3x a year. She was seen twice this year once diagnosed with an ear infection which now I know was her teeth. How could they let this happen. I put my faith in the veterinarians who cared for my baby. Very poor care. I will never understand how this went unnoticed. Read Less

Well. When my bulldog Lola needed to be euthanized because she was suffering, this place turned their back on us. They refused to see her without vaccine records?.....to euthanize her. Long story short I had to take her to a vet she had never seen and that was how she died. I had a good experience here with one vet but would never, ever have anyone see a vet that doesn’t have time for my friend when she is dying. To add insult to injury after refusing to help Lola cross the rainbow bridge they send a card with a donation in Lola’s name. That did nothing for Lola, when she needed you turned your back on her. I still have zero respect for the people who work here, this isn’t the Enfield Animal Hospital you remember as a kid if you’ve been here your whole life like I have. Anyway, there’s my story hope you don’t have your four legged friend have it happen like Lola did,it was quite distressing for me to try and find her help when she needed it most. Read Less

These are, hands down, the best vet my dogs could ever have hoped for. Dr. Morse and Dr. Stenz have seen me through so many of the ups and downs of loving a dog, and I am forever grateful. They are busy for a reason. They know what they are doing and are extremely good at communicating, in detail, the options I had in every scenario in caring for my dogs. I realize every Vet is "busy and overbooked". I called Enfield Animal Hospital as they were "Highly Recommended". Our family cat has been ill and we were hoping to fit him in (hopefully same day). I explained our kitty has lost a lot of weight and within the last two days has not been eating. I was told by the receptionist that they are booked out until the end of the June and it would be impossible to even schedule kitty in. Her tone exuded a lack of empathy and was quite disheartening. Their office hours on the day of this call: 9am to 7pm. So much for "Down to earth compassionate care" as their website so describes. Would appreciate owner responses to negative reviews as well. This review is not for Lisa. She is a wonderful, caring vet, however if you do go here, DO NOT see Dr. Mike Stenz. He is a poor vet who failed to diagnose a serious but treatable condition in my young animal in which he is now dead. Instead, he gave me the runaround for tests that cost a ridiculous amount of money and found nothing related to the issue my pet was having. Had he looked into my pets file, he would have seen some underlying issues. He did not do the proper tests, nor did he look into my pets file and do his research. His DVM should be revoked. Do not even consider this place if you're looking for a vet to bring your pet rodents too. I had a sick pet mouse and when I brought him here, the vet had no clue how to care for him and offered no advice, even though I was told over the phone that they treated rodents/exotics which was the only reason I had made an appointment here. They clearly had no experience or knowledge about rodents. I was fuming that they charged me for this visit at all. They even picked my mouse up by the tip of his tail!! This is my pet- you wouldn't do that to a cat or a dog, so why is it acceptable to do it to my mouse? So unprofessional and cruel. The only satisfaction I got from this visit was when my (normally friendly) mouse retaliated by biting the vet's finger. Read Less

My dog Zoe has had the best care here . Dr. Lisa has helped Zoe through arthritic pain in her joints, always mindful of what is most prudent balanced with what will be most affective . The whole team is great. They truly are concerned about Zoe's well being. I have had to make last minute weekend and evening appointments and they always seem to make it work. I am so grateful I have discovered them and I will never have a furry family member ever treated anywhere else. Read Less

I was very fortunate to find Enfield Animal Hospital a little over 3 years ago after my vet of 30 years retired. When you find a good thing or in this case a vet you stick with them and that is why I takes my dogs and cat here. The entire staff is friendly and very helpful. They are very accomodating with the scheduling of well and sick visits. The doctors have been by my side through the happy times with a new puppy and kitten, the worrisome times with an ill dog and the sad time of saying "Good Bye" to dear old companion. I have been contacted by the office on a number of occasions to check on the status of my pet(s). EAH plays a very important part in my animals health and I highly recommend them to anyone. They are very nice. But they don't follow up or seem to put effort into making sure your pet is ok. I've been going back several times in a month and you'd think they would call to check up. And when given 'samples' of food i was charged for them. And charged a recheck visit at least 3 times since my cats issue wasnt being resolved. I went 2 days ago for an xray. They couldn't give me a quote right then and asked me to pick it up the next day. I was unable to due to a hectic schedule. Think they'd call? Nope.. as much as I like the vets. They are nice people. But I think I will be looking for a place that can make me feel they care. Read Less

I took my 17 year old cat in today for a swollen leg that looked infected. Dr. Amelia saw her and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to see my cat. She treated her with love and respect as if it was her own animal. She explained everything in great detail to me in a way that people who have no medical background could understand. I'm so grateful and appreciative for the care we received today. And because of Dr. Amelia my cat will heal and recover.Read Less

Enfield Animal Hospital was recommended to me by a neighbor way back in 1980.  Through the decades I've always experienced the utmost respect for my cats/dogs and myself as their *mom*.  The doctors here have been WITHOUT EXCEPTION absolutely wonderful in all of our family's experiences with our beloved companions.  Never condescending...always willing to answer any questions or concerns...and most importantly -- supremely compassionate when a loved animal needs to be put to sleep.  Special praise to Dr. Mike for his respectful manner (taking a LONG time seated cross-legged on the floor of the empty-for-lunch waiting room) with our ten-year-old Newfoundland angel Abby (RIP Abby: June 1990-Sept. 2000)...chatting kindly with her and my husband and me...celebrating her life whilst preparing for her final sleep.  We visited one other Vet. with our current dog a few years ago and were stunned at the lack of warmth in that place.  I couldn't recommend EAH more to any pet parent. Today, I brought my dog in her for follow-up appointment for after being spayed; she was in to have sutures removed. My appointment was for 9:40am, though I waited until 10:45am to even be called in to see the vet. No one acknowledged that I was sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, with a super scared dog who was crying and freaking out about being there. When I went in to the office, the vet had me hold up my dog so she could see her belly and remove the sutures. When I did this, the vet said "Oh, well...I guess I did all the sutures internally...those will dissolve." I said "So, she doesn't need anything removed? We're all set?" The vet told me that I was correct and that she didn't need anything removed. My concern is two-fold: WHY did I wait for over an hour to see a vet in the first place, and WHY on earth would they schedule an appointment for suture removal if there were no sutures that needed to be removed?! Another question I ask myself is why am I bringing my animals in for treatment from people who aren't aware enough to acknowledge when someone is waiting for an insane amount of time for an appointment, and who don't have the wherewithal to keep track of how they close up animals after surgery? They also tried to convince me to give her a vaccine that she didn't need, "just in case"...I guess to make it seem like we were supposed to be there for something instead of just wasting so much of my time. Best vets! I've been going since I got my dogs- 14 years now. I just brought them in for annuals, and Amelia spent over 1 1/2 hours with us! The dogs are old and have so much going on. She was kind, gentle, patient. I know this put her way behind in her schedule, but she never rushed. I so appreciate her kindness and care. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a vet. My husband had been taking our cat to EAH for years before I met him. This was fine until our cat had a problem and the four vets I saw ALL gave me conflicting information on the correct way to treat her. I would think treating an ear infection in a cat would be a relatively simple thing, but each time I walked out of EAH I was given new medicine, new instructions, etc. I would see a different vet every time and each time I was told the way I had been administering the medicine was the wrong way, or the cat was given the wrong medicine altogether. I have no idea how four doctors of veterinary medicine can all have drastically different opinions on how to treat an ear infection. All in all my poor cat suffered with this ear infection for the better part of a year before I threw my hands up in the air and switched vets. Suffield Vet now has my business and for the most part, I have never been happier. My animals are diagnosed and treated correctly now. EAH was more affordable than SVH, but I absolutely do not regret the switch. Read Less

I have to say this was the best Vet visit we have ever had. Dr. Spenz really took the time to help my dog relax and feel comfortable before the exam and during each step of the exam. He was very thorough and took the time to explain each finding. The front desk staff was very friendly and made sure to tell us we could call any time with questions.
