Wonderful & caring! While on vacation I found Southport veterinary and Dr. Hollman took immediate care and support to my sick Dachtsund puppy. They kept me informed throughout the day and followed up to make sure he was recupperating well at home as well. Brilliant care and I was happy to share their contact info with my veterinarian in the Manhattan for future clients. As a picky dog owner, I must say Southport is one of the best! Thank you!

I brought my cat there recently for a problem with her paws and instead of treating her, they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests and my cat only got worse. After a couple visits, a couple weeks, and a few hundred dollars spent, I brought the cat elsewhere where she received care and treatment immediately. One of the doctors who I don't want to mention is very bad at listening and only wants to talk to show you that she is a doctor and knows more than you. I'm very happy with my choice of bringing the cat to a new place and would tell people to stay away from this place

Absolute WORST experience ever. The nurse told us nothing about the actual problem with our dog, administered medication without our consent, and made our dog bleed anally from shoving the thermometer multiple times into a very small dog. If you care for your dog, stay far away from the nurses at this facility. They have zero empathy, explain nothing, and give you attitude while caring for your loved ones.

We have had various dogs and cats cared for by the Veterinarians at Southport since 1992. The number is 3 cats and 7 dogs. We had always appreciated the care and attention given our companion animals, and competency of all the staff. But we're not going to return. Three reasons: 1) These days we leave every visit feeling as if we are being up-sold for more (expensive) services and tests than we think are indicated; 2) we got a lot of push back when we wanted to have one of our cats euthanized that we felt was not respectful of how difficult this decision was for us; and 3) the prices. We are sad to leave this practice but it is no longer the

I love Southport Veterinary Center. My dog is 2-1/2 years old. I have been using Southport Vet since my family adopted our dog. I have had personal experience with all of the doctors on staff and have been very pleased with them all. The Doctors and staff arevery knowlegeable. They are also compassionate to the humans, and loving to the animals! I have never had anything but a great experience using Southport Veterinary Center and highly recommend them!

As a new cat owner with little experience, I have found Dr. Hart and the staff at SVC helpful and reassuring. Not only was I comfortable with all of the medical treatment given to my cat but I was also pleasantly surprised by the tips Dr. Hart gave me to curb some of my cat's problematic behavior--this is just as important as medical care. My cat is healthy and his behavior is tremendously improved. I strongly recommend SVC to any pet owner.

Southport Vet Center/Dr. Hart has given excellent medical care to our pets over the years - our two older dogs who had complicated medical issues, our cats and now our new puppy, who needs and gets lots of behavior and training tips as well as medical care from Southport Vet. The team there is very experienced and dedicated - they clearly love animals and want to help us take good care of our pets.

As a new cat owner with little experience, I have found Dr. Hart and the staff at SVC helpful and reassuring. Not only was I comfortable with all of the medical treatment given to my cat but I was also pleasantly surprised by the tips Dr. Hart gave me to curb some of my cat's problematic behavior--this is just as important as medical care. My cat is healthy and his behavior is tremendously improved. I strongly recommend SVC to any pet owner.

I am very impressed with the quality of care they provide to my little yorkie. I had a concern about having him get his teeth cleaned because of his problems he had with anesthesia at another vet I went to before I found them. Dr. Larson took the time to call the other vet and had them pull their files from 4 years ago to see exactly what was given and how much to ensure my baby would be ok. :)

We had a serious problem with Southport Vet Center that could not be resolved. Oddly it did not concern billing or physicians services but instead unspeakably poor treatment by the office staff. Soon after we raised the issue with our DVM we were told to seek another vet for services(!) I'm not certain if there was discrimination involved and if there was it would probably not be actionable---a private business reserves the right to refuse service to anyone it chooses. We've had dogs for 23 years, and relationships running 16 years and 7 years with our previous vets. We have always paid our bills in full and had very courteous and professional relationships with our vets. And we love our DVMs especially: kind, gentle, compassionate professionals, every one of them. Our profile: Upper middleclass, middle aged professional couple with a straight-A, two sport high school aged daughter. My wife is however disabled with MS, spinal stenosis and scoliosis and that sometimes does present challenges for others. We take exceptionally good care of our pets who we think of as family members. If you go to this vet be on your toes and best of luck. Hope you fit their ideal customer profile and are acceptable to their office staff, because at Southport Vet Center it's more about the owners than it is about their pets. Guess we didn't fit in after our two-visit audition. The good news is we found another vet and a DVM with everything--professionalism, skills, compassion. It's all about the pet there, we don't feel judged. If only we had found him first and saved ourselves a lot of grief.

We had a serious problem with Southport Vet Center that could not be resolved. Oddly it did not concern billing or physicians services but instead unspeakably poor treatment by the office staff. Soon after we raised the issue with our DVM we were told to seek another vet for services(!) I'm not certain if there was discrimination involved and if there was it would probably not be actionable---a private business reserves the right to refuse service to anyone it chooses. We've had dogs for 23 years, and relationships running 16 years and 7 years with our previous vets. We have always paid our bills in full and had very courteous and professional relationships with our vets. And we love our DVMs especially: kind, gentle, compassionate professionals, every one of them. Our profile: Upper middleclass, middle aged professional couple with a straight-A, two sport high school aged daughter. My wife is however disabled with MS, spinal stenosis and scoliosis and that sometimes does present challenges for others. We take exceptionally good care of our pets who we think of as family members. If you go to this vet be on your toes and best of luck. Hope you fit their ideal customer profile and are acceptable to their office staff, because at Southport Vet Center it's more about the owners than it is about their pets. Guess we didn't fit in after our two-visit audition. The good news is we found another vet and a DVM with everything--professionalism, skills, compassion. It's all about the pet there, we don't feel judged. If only we had found him first and saved ourselves a lot of grief.
