Although I’d brought Gracie to this office twice before and she had received excellent care, this was her first appointment with Dr. Kraut. He was very gentle with her and the exam seemed very thorough, more so than usual, perhaps because of her age. He spoke to me, nor at me and in a way that I could understand the explanations. Have been taking my animals to LHVH for a few years. Always very happy with the compassionate and very knowledgeable staff. This last visit, Dr. Will realized we needed further answers to our dog's problem and recommended a cardiology vet appointment. I appreciate that fact that she knew we needed further answers and that a specialized vet would probably be where we would get to the bottom of our concern. She was right - sent us to a particular vet specializing in cardiology. Our dog is somewhat of an enigma and two vets have had questions: one in an emergency situation when we were in Vermont and finally here. Dr. Kraut and his staff are truly amazing. In the middle of transitioning vets I felt awkward calling for a sick visit knowing they never met Lexi. Well that was furthest from the truth, from the time I called to the front desk employees to Dr Kraut, everyone was so welcoming. Dr Kraut had a special way with Lexi like I have never seen,  a dog whisperer!! The visit was so thorough, he reviewed her weight to her joints then her ears and skin.The girls even clipped her toenails for me.  He recommended medicine providing options actually caring about the cost for me. My orange tabby, Milo likes to roam in the examining room so when Dr. Kraut comes in the room he sits down on the floor to examine Milo. He does the whole exam plus cutting his claws while on the floor talking to him. I love how he treats our pets as if they were his own. Love the staff too! Warm, friendly and compassionate!! I had a few horriable experinces there few years,while i liked Dr.Cavanna shes very careing, Dr.kraut on the other hand should not be working with animals. I brought 1 of my dogs there for pyometra, i knew she was sick as a breeder i am very well aware of the signs of pyo, i brought my girl in and he was going to do nothing but prescribe bland diet and meds.until i made him do an ultrasound,upon ultrasoind he did see an abnormality in the uterus,i had he spayed the next day sure enough she was headed in the direction of a pyo. The next time I had a girl in whelp with 3 large puppies,upon giving birth to the first she struggled for about 2-21/2 hrs with the 2nd puppy even after oxytocin, i called concerned that if the puppy didnt pass it would die and possiably my girl to, i called spoke with Dr.Kraut was ready to bring her in for a c section, all he could say was " I cant do a c section today,my son has a ball game at 4:30" (i called during office hours) so my dog should have been seen. So he was willing to let my dog and 2 of her puppies die bacause he couldnt miss his kids game.. really, thus guy has no care about animals,he should not be in this field.IMHO. Read Less

I brought my Dog there for an Emergency visit. We were new to the area and I didn't really care for our previous vet. They were Wonderful. Compassionate and kind from the front desk to the Doctor. They are always great. If I need files faxed to the groomer or kennel, they always get it done. The both the doctors are very helpful and compassionate. When I call for an appointment they often ask who I want to see, and I am always happy with either. I know when I go I am getting the best care in the area for my fur babies. Read Less

I had a cat with a uti and he was blocked and the vet told me if I can't afford for them to work on my cat then they can always just put him down! So I did what I could do and gave them $300 and then I still had to take my cat to a different vet that said it doesn't even seem like the other place did anything to my poor cat! Read Less

If you want your animals to receive quality, loving care then this is the place to take them! Both of the doctors have cared for our beloved pets. A cranky 15 year old kitty and a 5 year old Lhasa Apso whom we rescued 3 years ago. Oliver was a frequent flyer and they were always patient and kind with him. They also provided me with emotional support when the time came for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. In addition the staff is awesome, very accommodating and helpful. I tend to dislike most vets because they "manhandle" my dogs and my 150lb mastiff is very apprehensive and anxious already. I was shocked at how the Doctor understood that she was nervous and took the most gentle approach I have ever seen. He went at her pace even though that meant taking extra time with us. I am a dog trainer and I use no force training and I don't like to force my dog to do anything when I can coax her. So, meeting a vet who was not forceful, but also thorough was amazing. Best vet ever. I also felt that the prices for a new patient, examine, tests and meds were very reasonable. I can't say enough great things about the vet and the rest of the friendly staff.Read Less
