I researched the area and found Litchfield Veterinary Hospital professional staffing to have feline friendly ratings. I was very impressed with their approach and tenderness when treating my older cat. My cat is now a happy camper and I am reassured I have found a Veterinarian facility who truly understand feline care.

The amount of compassion and patience shown to both my dogs during every visit is wonderful. Both the Doctors and staff are very knowledgeable and are always willing to answer any questions that may arise. I would not take my dogs to any other Veterinary Hospital!

I found a large mass on my dog's neck on Sat morning.Panicked I called the office and they got us in. Dr. Stewart and her tech were so wonderful with my dog. She explained every single test that they were doing and why. Thankfully the out come is good, but my husband and I were obviously scared. They way were treated from the front desk staff to the Dr. and her tech was top notch. If i could give 10 stars I would.

I have been going to Litchfield Vet for almost 17 years now. Their service is the absolute best in the area, hands down. The customer service is wonderful and my two dogs and cat are given the best care imaginable. They know me and all of my pets by first name and are always so joyous and welcoming when we come in. They are unbelievably supportive and so flexible in every way. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet or a new vet. It’s worth the change for their exceptional service and care. They’re family.

They saved my girl TWICE. Dr. Carey is a doctor I'd want for myself. She is calm, extreamly knowledgeable, and even curious when a mystery comes up. She waits for test results before giving any indication of diagnosis. I am so grateful to her for saving my little love when we were hit with two seemingly lethal mysteries in less than a few months. Yes, she now lives with chronic kidney failure and we can't be 100% sure what actually happened (had surgery for a mass and then was possibly poisioned just after recovering!!) But shes here, shes playing, shes gained all her weight back, and she seems years younger. I have my girl back after so many people were sure I was going to loose her. I'm so grateful

We love Litchfield Vet! We have been clients with our dogs for years, and we have every confidence that they're in the best care available. Dr. Carey always takes time to explain what's going on, and different care options, and our pups have had some complicated issues. We trust her 100%! The whole team takes time to get to know you and your animals, and they're always exceptionally courteous. We recently had our first appointment with Dr. Stuart, and she was fantastic as well. Overall, we've had years of top notch care, friendly faces, and never a bad experience! One of our dogs actually loves going to the vet. Great team, great care!

I have been very impressed with the range and quality of service from this veterinary office. From the front office, the waiting room to the the vet who has helped me every aspect of this clinic/hospital runs smoothly and professionally. My last dealing with this clinic was to get International Health Certificates for traveling to another country for my five cats. At the time I was living in New York but they are one of the few clinics that preform this service. Because of the distance I was traveling the office opened early to accomodate me and to reduce the stress on my cats. The exams and paperwork were preformed with knowledge and proficency and their kindness they showed towards myself and my animals was outstanding. Due to my having multiple animals I was given a discount on my bill without being asked. I would not hesitate to use Litchfield Veterinary Hospital again...and again...and again.

We love Litchfield Veterinary Hospital. Everyone on staff is so knowledgeable and professional, and they take excellent care of our dogs and the humans who come with them. It is gratifying and reassuring to work with each person there--they love and enjoy their patients! Our dogs are always welcomed with warmth and understanding, and receive expert examination, diagnosis, and any needed treatment. We especilally appreciate the conscientious investigation of best care when two of our dogs have had serious illness. We are so confident that our dogs receive best attention and care, at the reception desk, in the examining room, in surgery, and followup phone calls. Dr. Carey always clearly and care-fully explains her findings and our dog's requirements. We recommend this pratice with full confidence in its excellence. It's a pleasure to be a client.

Dr. Carey, Dr. Ammirata and Dr. Stuart are fantastic veterinarians. I wouldn't trust my Greyhounds with any other vet. They are knowledgeable, efficient and always willing to fit me in to be seen, even on their most busy days! Their practice has everything my dogs would need there and diagnostics are done quickly, most of the time I get my dog's bloodwork results that day! If you live in Litchfield County and you have a pet, you need to make an appointment to meet one of these doctors. Oh won't regret it!

We had a good experience initially here but ensuing visits have been unhappy ones. And while we don't doubt the intent or the care for animals here, we've found the financial aspects of the operation to be quite shameful. Services are on the costly side here; there are less expensive veterinarians in the area (we were quoted about $1,200 for some dental expenses, while another high-quality vet quoted us nearly half that price). The final straw came seven weeks after our dog had a full exam and some shots and needed to return for two additional shots. The vet required us to pay for yet another full exam before approving the shots. That strikes us as a pretty greedy way to operate. As we said, we're not questioning the quality of care, only the energies directed toward getting more money out of patients. We believe others ought to be aware of how they operate, based on our experiences.

Dr. Carey and the other veterinarians on staff coupled with fabulous vet technicians and vet assistants are by far the best veterinarian hospital!! The compassion and quality care that this group of dedicated women provide is priceless. Dr. Carey has turned my 14 year old Boston Terrier's life completely around. She diagnosed her with Cushing's disease, and with her knowledge and expertise with this disease has given Isabella more time with us. As soon as you walk into the Hospital you are instantly reassured that you just made the best decision for quality healthcare for your VIP pet! Love these ladies!!

Visited the vet today. Had to put our Oliver down. He was a very cooool cat. He had great parents though so I'm not surprised. Chick aka Mike Baker, Emma Baker, Rebecca Marie Baker & Kailey Stewart took great care of him. This was a tough evening and we're all still saddened at the loss of him but, I feel it is so important to thank, out loud, the care givers at Litchfield veterinary hospital. Heather assisted through the entire procedure and she gave the utmost comfort to both Oliver, me and, my kids. She spoke softly to him, handled him gently and her tears were a sign of the empathy she had for us. We were given as much time as needed prior to and following the procedure. Heather held Oliver, with my son, through the whole thing. We're thankful to Dr Rachel Ammiratta to Amanda, Miranda and the entire staff whose names we did not get but, had kind words for all of us. A HUGE Thank you Litchfield Veterinary Hospital. Lastly, I'm sorry Oliver. you are already missed. We will take good care of your little brother Richard, don't you worry.

In the past few months, three of our four pets have visited Litchfield Vet Hospital for anything from vaccines, to surgery, to medical boarding. Dr. Ammirata, Dr. Carey, and their staff have been nothing but kind, patient, and gentle with our animals. We are appreciative of the care they have provided for our beloved dogs and cats. They have a huge reception area with a separate area for cats. Their exam rooms are nice and clean. Very helpful and friendly front desk staff as well!

When our previous veterinarian retired, we were panicking as to who we go to with our beloved Boston Terrier and Chiweenie. Panic no more! We feel so blessed to have our fur kids become patients of Dr. Carey. She is phenomenal as is the entire staff at Litchfield Veterinary Hospital! Our Boston who is 13 has had so many health issues over the course of her life. Within one month of transferring our dogs care to Dr. Carey, she diagnosed our Boston with Cushing's disease and an immediate treatment program has begun. We already notice an improvement in our senior dog. Thank you Dr. Carey and staff from the bottom of our hearts. See you soon!!

She explained every single test that they were doing and why. Thankfully the out come is good, but my husband and I were obviously scared. They way were treated from the front desk staff to the Dr. and her tech was top notch. If i could give 10 stars I would.

I have been going to Litchfield Vet for almost 17 years now. Their service is the absolute best in the area, hands down. The customer service is wonderful and my two dogs and cat are given the best care imaginable. They know me and all of my pets by first name and are always so joyous and welcoming when we come in. They are unbelievably supportive and so flexible in every way. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet or a new vet. It’s worth the change for their exceptional service and care. They’re family.

They saved my girl TWICE. Dr. Carey is a doctor I'd want for myself. She is calm, extreamly knowledgeable, and even curious when a mystery comes up. She waits for test results before giving any indication of diagnosis. I am so grateful to her for saving my little love when we were hit with two seemingly lethal mysteries in less than a few months. Yes, she now lives with chronic kidney failure and we can't be 100% sure what actually happened (had surgery for a mass and then was possibly poisioned just after recovering!!) But shes here, shes playing, shes gained all her weight back, and she seems years younger. I have my girl back after so many people were sure I was going to loose her. I'm so grateful

We love Litchfield Vet! We have been clients with our dogs for years, and we have every confidence that they're in the best care available. Dr. Carey always takes time to explain what's going on, and different care options, and our pups have had some complicated issues. We trust her 100%! The whole team takes time to get to know you and your animals, and they're always exceptionally courteous. We recently had our first appointment with Dr. Stuart, and she was fantastic as well. Overall, we've had years of top notch care, friendly faces, and never a bad experience! One of our dogs actually loves going to the vet. Great team, great care!

I have been very impressed with the range and quality of service from this veterinary office. From the front office, the waiting room to the the vet who has helped me every aspect of this clinic/hospital runs smoothly and professionally. My last dealing with this clinic was to get International Health Certificates for traveling to another country for my five cats. At the time I was living in New York but they are one of the few clinics that preform this service. Because of the distance I was traveling the office opened early to accomodate me and to reduce the stress on my cats. The exams and paperwork were preformed with knowledge and proficency and their kindness they showed towards myself and my animals was outstanding. Due to my having multiple animals I was given a discount on my bill without being asked. I would not hesitate to use Litchfield Veterinary Hospital again...and again...and again.

We love Litchfield Veterinary Hospital. Everyone on staff is so knowledgeable and professional, and they take excellent care of our dogs and the humans who come with them. It is gratifying and reassuring to work with each person there--they love and enjoy their patients! Our dogs are always welcomed with warmth and understanding, and receive expert examination, diagnosis, and any needed treatment. We especilally appreciate the conscientious investigation of best care when two of our dogs have had serious illness. We are so confident that our dogs receive best attention and care, at the reception desk, in the examining room, in surgery, and followup phone calls. Dr. Carey always clearly and care-fully explains her findings and our dog's requirements. We recommend this pratice with full confidence in its excellence. It's a pleasure to be a client.

Dr. Carey, Dr. Ammirata and Dr. Stuart are fantastic veterinarians. I wouldn't trust my Greyhounds with any other vet. They are knowledgeable, efficient and always willing to fit me in to be seen, even on their most busy days! Their practice has everything my dogs would need there and diagnostics are done quickly, most of the time I get my dog's bloodwork results that day! If you live in Litchfield County and you have a pet, you need to make an appointment to meet one of these doctors. Oh won't regret it!

We had a good experience initially here but ensuing visits have been unhappy ones. And while we don't doubt the intent or the care for animals here, we've found the financial aspects of the operation to be quite shameful. Services are on the costly side here; there are less expensive veterinarians in the area (we were quoted about $1,200 for some dental expenses, while another high-quality vet quoted us nearly half that price). The final straw came seven weeks after our dog had a full exam and some shots and needed to return for two additional shots. The vet required us to pay for yet another full exam before approving the shots. That strikes us as a pretty greedy way to operate. As we said, we're not questioning the quality of care, only the energies directed toward getting more money out of patients. We believe others ought to be aware of how they operate, based on our experiences.

Dr. Carey and the other veterinarians on staff coupled with fabulous vet technicians and vet assistants are by far the best veterinarian hospital!! The compassion and quality care that this group of dedicated women provide is priceless. Dr. Carey has turned my 14 year old Boston Terrier's life completely around. She diagnosed her with Cushing's disease, and with her knowledge and expertise with this disease has given Isabella more time with us. As soon as you walk into the Hospital you are instantly reassured that you just made the best decision for quality healthcare for your VIP pet! Love these ladies!!

Visited the vet today. Had to put our Oliver down. He was a very cooool cat. He had great parents though so I'm not surprised. Chick aka Mike Baker, Emma Baker, Rebecca Marie Baker & Kailey Stewart took great care of him. This was a tough evening and we're all still saddened at the loss of him but, I feel it is so important to thank, out loud, the care givers at Litchfield veterinary hospital. Heather assisted through the entire procedure and she gave the utmost comfort to both Oliver, me and, my kids. She spoke softly to him, handled him gently and her tears were a sign of the empathy she had for us. We were given as much time as needed prior to and following the procedure. Heather held Oliver, with my son, through the whole thing. We're thankful to Dr Rachel Ammiratta to Amanda, Miranda and the entire staff whose names we did not get but, had kind words for all of us. A HUGE Thank you Litchfield Veterinary Hospital. Lastly, I'm sorry Oliver. you are already missed. We will take good care of your little brother Richard, don't you worry.

In the past few months, three of our four pets have visited Litchfield Vet Hospital for anything from vaccines, to surgery, to medical boarding. Dr. Ammirata, Dr. Carey, and their staff have been nothing but kind, patient, and gentle with our animals. We are appreciative of the care they have provided for our beloved dogs and cats. They have a huge reception area with a separate area for cats. Their exam rooms are nice and clean. Very helpful and friendly front desk staff as well!

When our previous veterinarian retired, we were panicking as to who we go to with our beloved Boston Terrier and Chiweenie. Panic no more! We feel so blessed to have our fur kids become patients of Dr. Carey. She is phenomenal as is the entire staff at Litchfield Veterinary Hospital! Our Boston who is 13 has had so many health issues over the course of her life. Within one month of transferring our dogs care to Dr. Carey, she diagnosed our Boston with Cushing's disease and an immediate treatment program has begun. We already notice an improvement in our senior dog. Thank you Dr. Carey and staff from the bottom of our hearts. See you soon!!
