I'm trying to adopt a7 year old Pom..I just lost my Homer after 17 years.. and he has ALWAYS gone to this vet. This is my experience when I gave them my vets number I had been going here for over 15 years and I take very good care of my babies. I want the word out what horrible people they are. I am finding a new vet obviously. You know the saddest thing about this place? They kennel dogs and leave them without supervision from 7 or 8pm until they open in the morning. When I got my last dog spayed they wanted to keep her overnight without ANYONE there. I said I was taking her home to watch her and they gave me a hard time about it! So it's better to keep her after surgery ALONE than with her people parent? Idk why I didn't say anything before this but I thought Dr. Diaz was good. I'd suggest finding another vet. These are the messages I got from the shelter Thank you for clarifying that. :-) the vet did have records of your dogs, but mostly sick visits instead of annual routine well checks. The pom did have annual wellness exams, but the other dogs seem to come in only if there was a problem. Is there another Veterinary that I should check with? Thanks. My family has been bringing our dogs and cats here for a long time. Most recently, I've trusted them with the care of my three-year-old cat, who had a bad habit of losing fights and needing urgent medical treatment. He's since calmed down and come indoors, but the staff here has been great with everything from treating wounds to annual wellness checks to giving advice on pet behavior and nutrition. Through the years I have taken my dog to this vet. I would take him for his annual checkups and sometimes when he was acting strange. He acted strange about once every couple of months, he would get really clingy and weird and would shake a lot and we were always concerned something was wrong internally. Then, he started pacing at night. Every single night he would pace around 2-3 am but he wouldn't need to go outside, he would just shake and stare at a wall. We took him into the vet again and they checked him out and said he seemed okay. A few days later, the vet called me and said "I have been thinking about your dog and I pulled his file, and you have mentioned this behavior many times. We think he may have anxiety." To me, the simple fact that days later she was thinking about my dog meant she cared about my dog and they now have a customer for life! They gave him a low dose prescription of Prozac and he has not acted that way since then, and it has been almost two years! Read Less

I have several cats, so I went there on a semi-regular basis. I always paid my bills.  I had a cat suffering from a urinary blockage, so it cost a lot. I paid what I could and I said I'd pay the balance when I got my next paycheck. The office manager is a shrew! I was treated like a dirtbag, despite the fact that I gave them steady business and money.The practice owner is a vet who has great dane dogs that are "animal actors."  She's hardly there because she's on the road with the dogs. My impression is that the clinic is her "cash cow."  There was a new vet who stayed about a month. I think that speaks volumes! I liked one doctor who specializes in cats, but I wouldn't be surprised if she leaves, too. The turnover of vet techs was also noticeable.I brought in a feral cat to be spayed, vaccinated, etc. It  cost $500!  I don't think any vet can justify such a price.  I felt gauged. The last straw was when my cat had symptoms of another urinary blockage and I was told they couldn't fit him in, despite that I told them he was already in great discomfort. Save your money and go else where, your given a price even though you tell them you only have X, it didnt matter they went 153.00 over what i had available.Staff unprofessional, vet tech spayed a cleaning solution which hit the floor, harmful to dogs, in common sense wouldn't  spray it into a sink to clean off an instrument.I question the knowledge and ability of the vet. On 3/18/2017, I called and left a message about my pup (not a pup, but is to me) I never received a call back, I called them back (quite arrogant) but I needed to have him seen, he wasn't breathing correctly, in something of a nasty tone I was told the vet would take a look at him at 10, ok, so I get there and I am in a room with this tech (obviously inexperienced) as she tried to take Max's temp, he has never cried so much, then in an act of stupidity sprays cleaning solution on thermometer, which hit the floor, my other dog went to lick it up, she said no no and wiped it off the floor, just how dum to you have to be not to spray it into the sink duh. I called a friend to come for support, she also offered financial help, I was told by the tech it would be 400.00 I told her I don't have that kind of money, I had 300.00 my friend stepped up and covered what was needed, the end bill was 453.00, I truly felt taken advantage of, as they realized my friend was going to help, was told Max was in heart failure and put him on lasix as his lungs were apparently full of water, I am now doubting this, I am familiar with lasix and it's not doing what I know it to do, did 1 night, but nothing like what I know it to be. They were suppose to call and check on him today (Tuesday) no call, they said they would email me a copy of the x-rays the same day and to date still have not received, I'm sorry I paid for them I want originals, not a photo copy, and yes and email will be coming to them. I have no room for incompetence, like my first visit watching a "Vet" with a needle trying to find a vein while moving it around under the skin, my dogs were crying, she finally gave up and had to have someone else do it. The team at the Animal Medical Clinic has been great to us. They were with us every step of the way with our first litter of 13 OEB and went above and beyond when it was an emergency situation. We are now preparing for a litter of 8, while anticipating a natural delivery it is a huge stress reliever knowing we have their team available again! Read Less

The staff here are understanding, caring and educated. I would recommend the doctors here for cat treatments and aging cats. As my experience has been excellent. They recently when above and beyond when I needed to put to sleep my 16 and 1/2 year old cat. Read Less

Took my German shepherd in on the 2nd week of January. He is 13 weeks so wanted to get his vaccinations. They tested my dog for parvo because he had diarrhea and vomiting. The gave meds for home to treat diarrhea and the vomits. The test for parvo came back positive (or at least that what they said) they wanted 3,000 dollars to stay with my puppy overnight and treat him. I said im sorry but i cant afford that amount, she said your puppy is going to die.I never treated my dog for parvovirus and thank God my dog is doing great. I drove over 3 hours in one direction to be told me puppies were too old(age given at appt time) and even then they were over the weight limit which was never discussed with me on the phone when I set the appt. Their excuse was the vessels in the ears are too large with too much bleeding possible. I've cropped and docked adult dogs in my breed so this is highly misinformed professional "information". Waste of my time, gas and toll money. Highly unprofessional supposed breeder friendly vet hospital. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. Read Less

Best care our furbabies have ever gotten. Every option is explored, answers given. The love and compassion that is given to these furbabies and their family is above the top. The entire staff has been incredible As a breeder timing is critical when working with my dogs and the doctors have been wonderful. We recently had a large litter due and Dr. Powell called on a Sunday to check in on the mom, That's beyond what people call " customer service".....,that's someone who truly cares about her 2 & 4 legged clients. I had canine semen collected and stored with a local vet tech. When she lost her semen storage ability she moved my stored semen to the Animal Medical Clinic. I traveled 2 hours from home to be able to use that semen. I brought in a dog for transcervical insemination with frozen semen. My girl was treated gently and waggged through the entire proceedure, They were warm caring and very efficient - the insemination resulted in a litter of eight happy healthy puppies. Read Less

I came in to AMC as a complete novice pet parent, having just adopted my first cat right off the street. The staff was immediately compassionate, knowledgeable, and honest, which I appreciated so much! I would definitely recommend this practice. We usually see Dr. Diaz, who is just great! Under-impressed and over-charged. My cats were not given their full exams, even though they had calmed down by the end of the visit. The same thing happened to my roommate when she brought her dog in. Both of us were charged full-price for the exams.Read Less

I went their with a dying dog. They came out to my car gave him on shot a watched him pass away for 10 minutes. Not one customer in the whole place. They still charged me for a office visit even though we never maid it in side. Really really. I understand charging for the shot and cremation but for a office visit. The vet waited until after racking up a bill of office visits and vaccines and booking a follow-up appointment to have an assistant call me to say that she "would not" prescribe a travel sedative, which I had specifically requested at the onset. But she still wanted to book my cat for a $300 dental cleaning. No thanks, I will find a vet with honest customer service and probably better prices as well. I was a loyal customer to the Animal Medical Clinic for many years. My family had used all of their facilities, from the boarding facility to the veterinary services. I had taken both of my dogs to the grooming facility, as I had done in the past. When I picked up Penny, my lab/golden we noticed her eyes seemed really irritated. We thought this was a temporary condition, however I called the vets' office to ask for advice. They said we could bring her in, however we had just got home an hour ahead of time. Normally I wouldn't post this however my medical issues play a strong part in all this. I have been re-diagnosed with breast cancer have been undergoing chemo and have not been working due to this. On that day I wasn't feeling all that great but we felt that her condition wasn't that bad and it would work itself out. Unfortunately about an hour later Penny was having major discomfort and whining alot. My husband saw her eyes and said we needed to take her to the emergency vet as both of her eyes were literally closed. Upon getting there the vet determined that an irritant had gotten in her eyes (shampoo) and that what was causing the irritation. After putting drops in her eyes and sending me home with medication Penny was fine, however all this cost $170. When we brought Penny into the groomer she was completely fine and when we picked her up it was due to the groomer that she had this problem. I feel that the groomer is responsible for this charge. When I called I spoke with the manager and she told me that due to them 'offering' to see her when I had called they are not responsible for any changes whatsoever. I preceded to tell her that Penny's condition had gotten a lot worse as the night progressed. The manager told me she would talk to the owner and have her call me back or she would because I felt strongly that I should not have to pay this, however no one ever called and I had to call them back 4 days later. I no longer will be affiliated with this vet or ANY of their services because they do not care about the loyalty of their customers or have morals, its all about the bottom dollar.
