Not sure if I could be more dissatisfied, this was possibly the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. After being given an incorrect appointment time and showing up at the time I was given, I was notified at least half a dozen times throughout my short visit what an inconvenience it was, and that my appointment had already been "deleted". Although unhappy with the way the situation was being approached, I decided to try and stay for the sake of my sick pet. The doctor was extremely rude and unprofessional, and barely made it through the door before saying she would probably be referring us out since we were clearly a burden. She left moments later and brought back an invoice saying if I was planning on having anything done, this would be the amount I would owe, to which I agreed. She then continued to bombard me with questions concerning how it was I planned on paying. I'm not sure about anyone else, but if I have a sick animal, I am expecting to cost me a good chunk of money. The fact that I was repeatedly questioned as to how exactly I was paying was offensive, came off as very judgmental, and was honestly the last straw. I ended up leaving and driving to another clinic. They did not present the battery of tests that this office was suggesting, did an actual exam, and within minutes of being there had an almost certain diagnosis that was tested for, proven positive, and medicated that same night. The staff here are absolutely fantastic. We had brought our border collie Tiki here when he had some mucus dripping from his nose. Dr. Clancy was very kind to him and very gentle when she noticed that he was in pain. She suggested we bring him in for some dentistry and an x-ray so this past Wednesday we did just that. Unfortunately the x-ray showed that our boy had a very large tumor that was in his nose and that was the source of his pain. After being undiagnosed and untreated by our previous vet, the damage was so extensive that we had to put him to sleep. Dr. Park was the vet that had called and told us the news and very kindly reassured us that we were doing the right thing. Every single member of the staff gave us their condolences, they treated us almost like family. As awful as that day was, I am so grateful for their kindness and compassion. The front desk staff are always welcoming and friendly both to me and my dog. You may occasionally have to wait a couple of minutes to check in, but that is usually because they are tending to the person in front of you (or on the phone). Everyone's pet is special and they never rush anyone who wants to tell a story about their pet. I have seen three vets at the practice, and they are all kind and caring. They are also on board with the fact that my dog is old and my husband and I will not put him through drastic measures to extend his life that are not in the best interests of his comfort and wagging tail. We called East Side in a panick because our dog was sick. They took us within 24 hrs and were wonderful. The entire staff was so welcoming and professional. The office is very clean too. Dr Eric was so nice and caring. He was sensitive to our situation which made things more comfortable for us in making the hardest decisions. Very friendly staff!! My cat was a little nervous but they helped comfort her and made us feel welcomed. It was very easy, no long waits in and out. I've been a client of East Side Veterinary Clinic for over 25 years and would never consider going anywhere else. Dr. Eric and Dr. Kris are the best most compassionate doctors and the prices at East Side are well within the better prices for vet care.  Over the years I've had multiple dogs and cats and have never had a bad experience with this clinic.  I've adopted animals through this clinic, as well. I've also had to deal with the end of life of some of my pets, and the compassion and care they have provided to both my pets and to me has been exemplary. Highly recommend this practice! Read Less

Every staff member is very compassionate, sympathetic and caring. All 4 vets are knowledgeable and in touch with each other and therefore making any appointment easy because you know they are well informed of each and every animal. I decided to go  to East Side Vet since it's less than a 5 minute commute from where I live. I was taking my cat there for 2.5 years but since he was an indoor cat, I was only there once a year so a total of 3 times which didn't give me the opportunity to see what the place was like. Unfortunately, I was allergic to my cat & found him a new home. I now have a puppy who has hair & thankfully, I'm not allergic to. She needed her 1st check up shortly after adopting her so I went to East Side Vet. The vet that I ended up with did not seem like a dog lover (Dr. Souza) & made it clear that she only had cats (bedside manners were so/so, could've been better). I needed them to fill out a checklist for her 1st visit per requirements from the place I got her & noticed on the form that Dr. Souza did not check her paws or temperature..forgot to check temperature? I had to go back to get this done. To top it off, during that visit, I purchased Nexgard from them (6 months worth $119) and when I went home, I noticed  that it expired this month (same month I purchased them). Of course, that was another office visit I had to make. I'm glad I noticed the expiration before giving it to my little one.Then....on their website, I noticed 10% off for new clients on their 1st exam. It was my puppy's 1st exam and I spent a little over $300 and $30 off isn't a bad deal....soooo I called to find out if they can apply it to my puppy's 1st exam. The "Office Manager" Kristen was extremely rude & said that they call people clients, not the animal (they're patients) and I did not qualify for the 10% off because I was there before with my cat. I nicely told her the wording is confusing & should be changed because it does say "off their 1st exam." After-all, it's not "my" first exam, it's my puppy's 1st exam so you can't put client (their definition of human) on the same sentence with "1st exam." After she explained, it was completely understandable but it was the way she was coming across. She even went on the website to read me the fine print word for word (obnoxiously). She also went on to mention how she was the one who created the site and it's not confusing (maybe she needs some lessons on wording). I just chuckled (not so nicely) & said I was going to have to look for another vet & she sarcastically said, "Okay!" I will not be going back there. They have no clue what they're doing and they're not nice  to begin with. The only people I found to be pleasant were the ones working at the front desk. Everyone else....not so much. From the general check ups, to my Ginger's seizure disorder, and then the tragic loss of my beloved a Princess, ALL of the staff at east side have been there as not only professionals, but real human beings who understand grief and love. We have loved east side for years! They are always very nice and compassionate and truly love the pets that come in. They are very reasonable and easy to talk to about tough decisions and for general advice. Our dogs all love going in and never have any issues with the staff! WOW, I have had a great start with the services offered by these guys.I was looking to switch vets, due to moving...and this office is literally around the corner from me.I had not been officially seen by the vet, had gotten all my paperwork from the previous vet, BUT a week before our 1st official visit, my dog develops hives, and NOT just a few...they said come on over, bring the paperwork, and saw me..and I'm not the average dog owner, I'm a bit picky...do a lot of reading, question every thing, my dogs are my heart..they made me feel like I'd ALWAYS been there. I had tje official visit and have nothing but praise for office staff, Drs Kris and Parks, vet techs, all were FABULOUS! The kicker was, Clinton had a lyme vaccinec developed a strange swelling under jaw, I had emailed and asked about this, and within minutes got an email back...NOW I Thought I'd been talking to Dr Kris...and went into this long explanation cause he developed hives again after  I had taken him in for the  official visit,  THE next email I got was from Kris the OFFICE MANAGER... I had to laugh,,, cause she encouraged me to call and leave a message, and that I should bring him in...but she was going to put the correspondance in his chart, and make sure that someone saw it...this was all after hours....SO, in my book, that iced the cake...SO VERY GLAD to have chosen EAST SIDE VET TO CARE for MY furbabies! !! I normally would highly recommend East Side Vet however, today I may have changed my mind. Very appalled and dissatisfied with the service and manner of this place. Dr. Sousa is uncaring and very rude. I have had a couple bad experiences with her but this one topped it off. Our family dog began to decline in health today and we brought he to east side vet and Dr. Sousa blatantly told us there wasn't much she could do because they were closing in 40 minutes!!!! Who does that to a family that just wanted to get some care for their pet and gave her x-rays and told us her spleen was enlarged which she was completely wrong about and I think she just said that just to get us out of there. Then decides to charge us 200 dollars when all we got was attitude and she did nothing for our pet. I will think twice before going back there since she is only worried about closing on time.Read Less

I have taken my dog there since I first got him. Since my first visit I felt like they didnt take me serious and sort of judge me on that fact that he was purchased from a pet store. I have two beautiful doggies who mean the world to me and my family. Both my partner and I have seen almost all of their doctors on staff to treat my dog for different reasons. We have always had to take the dog for more then one visit to get him to feel better. The bills have been adding up tremendously and the poor dog dosent get better. When he is taken in they barely touch him and say he needs this and that and we walk out of there with a handful of drugs and things that dont seem to be helping him. This happens all the time we go there. I plan to never go there again unless it is like a dire emergency and in that case he will be going to another hospital. Read Less
