I expect a lot from my doctors (and family members' doctors) and DeForge does not deliver. When he speaks, it is clear he doesn't listen to what you say, interrupts, and offers no space for a meaningful discussion about your animal's care. It is also clear he is not comfortable being challenged, something he became visibly tense and defensive about. The hospital sent out a survey, only to measure the "cleanliness" and "promptness" of the visit, in addition to the staff's "attention." The staff are wonderful young professionals who should go to another veterinarian where they are treated with respect, kindness, and where the Dr. knows your name. As a dog mama, and dog-foster mama, I encourage you to do your research and ensure you and your animal feels comfortable with your vet.
DeForge was pushy, insensitive, and told us an array of lies to scare us into treatment. The treatment room is wall-to-wall horrendous photos of dog's teeth and their infections, notices about heartworm and lyme and ticks and treatments that he's the "only one that offers." He said, "his ears are fine," (he had an ear infection, confirmed by another vet), "he has allergies," (again, untrue. We just moved here from the PNW and these symptoms are not new), and he has "dry skin," (which I take as a personal insult as my dog is my best friend and if he was uncomfortable or itchy or dry - I WOULD KNOW IT).
This only scratches the surface as to why I will never be going back to DeForge and who I expect to publicly challenge these comments - only further highlighting his lack of empathy. Read Less
