I will never go back there again.  I brought my 2 guinea pigs there for ring worm.  They gave me medicine that was supposed to last 6 weeks per guninea pig.  Long story short there was not enough medicine to last 4 weeks.  The dose was such a small amount and the medicine was thick that it coated the syring and many doses were lost.  It was impossible to scrape the syring.  The dose was only .1ml.   I went back and told them and they charged me for more.  After a little negotiation the doctor dropped the price to $18 but in my opinion he just lost 2 patients over $18. First time bringing my Dog in for diharea and she is old and has other problems I asked to check. I received a quote for an estimate for what it would cost. I love my dog but thousands of dollars is not something I could spend right now. I said he could run a few tests that day. Then he named other things he wanted to do and told him I didn’t have the money at the time to do them. We said we do them at another time when I SAID HE COULD. This is after being quoted for the tests done that day and getting charged double, which in my opinion I should had been warned about before. Now after I left he runs a test without my premission. When he calls me to tell me about the results of something he wasn’t suppose to run I said I told you not to do this I don’t have the money. He said don’t worry I discounted it a little for you. That’s not the point I don’t have spare money just sitting around to pay. Then proceeded to make me feel guilty about my dog. When there was nothing wrong besides diharea. She is old and has natural problems as dogs get older but that is at my discretion what I do with my dog. She exercises, eats and acts just like she always has. The point of the rant is tests should not be done without speaking to the owner and approving it. Leaving a message on my voicemail is not approving the doctor to DO ANYTHING. Read Less

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Belden for over the last 10 years. I never write reviews, however, I am compelled due to Dr. Belden’s lack of professionalism. My pet recently died and I decided to have him cremated. Dr. Belden told me that I would be contacted the following week. After 3 weeks, when it became apparent that the office wasn’t going to call me back, I decided it was in my best interest to call the office and request a transfer of medical records for my remaining pets. When I returned Dr. Belden’s phone call inquiring why, he didn’t even allow me to finish my sentence. He abruptly and rudely interrupted me by berating and belittling me and blaming me for the death of my pet. After he hung up on me, when I tried to talk, I realized that he really didn’t actually call to find out why. He called me to degrade and demean my integrity and character. Needless to say, Dr. Belden still has my pet’s remains…. Read Less

The one star is for the nice helpful vet techs! I just brought my 7 month old puppy in to have her staples removed from her spay. Dr. Belden was her doctor and he sucks in my opinion! My puppy was very nervous and yelped after the first staple was removed. He said whooaaaahhh! That isn't normal! Then said she shouldn't be so skittish. Said my kids need to play with her more often (they play with her Allllll day long when they are not in school!) suggested we get a dog trainer (we did), and then went in to say that we should GIVE HER BACK! yep! A vet suggested that I give back my rescue puppy. The puppy that was left on the side of the road to die. This guy is an asshole! My dog is 100% fine when she goes to her normal vet. I only went to New Milford because they accepted they spay certificate that I had bought online.  I WOULD RATHER PAY THE EXTRA $300 that I saved and go to a vet that knows how to talk to people without stupid suggestions! We brought our dogs here for a regular check up and vaccinations. The vet was nice, so was the staff, however they are very expensive. Our dogs had to be put on some meds, and when I said that I can buy the same meds somewhere else for cheaper, they changed the form of medication they wanted my dogs on. When they called me to give a second round of meds I told them that I was going to buy the meds from someone else, the woman on the phone got very snotty and insisted that I use the powder form. When I asked her what the difference was, she said that I might have to use a lot of the liquid form to equal the same dosage (which is untrue). I bought the powder form medication for 1/4 the price this vet charges for the SAME exact thing. They also refuse to give prescriptions to 1 800 pet meds, even though we specifically requested it. They were insistent that we bought our heart worm meds from them. I will not ever go back. I cannot support a vet that dictates where we get our pet's medication filled and then has the nerve to charge 4X the going rate.Read Less
