I've had three dogs of my own and lived all over the country in the course of 12 years and have visited numerous veterinarians in that time. I can honestly say there just aren't any practices like Valley Veterinary. You expect friendliness and a knowledgeable staff and doctors when you go to a vet. Valley Vet exceeds all expectations. The doctors approach veterinary medicine in a way that most vets don't. They look at the patient as a whole being- not just the problems at hand. They definitely think outside the box and are willing to do the work to find the answers for each and every patient. They don't just hand out pharmaceutical products that mask the problem- they get to the root of the issue and help to resolve it as best as each case allows. Dr. A has a tremendous knowledge base on canine orthopedics and rehabilitation. All of the doctors are versed in Chinese medicine and their knowledge of holistic treatments, therapies and supplements help bring something different to the table that other vets don't. My hope with this review is that at least one animal will be spared from the pain and suffering that my dog has endured as a result of visiting this "holistic" Valley Vet. I took my dog Brodie to Valley Vet for an appointment with Dr A, because he was holistic vet and my dog has allergies. Brodie was having issues with walking. I explained Brodie's food allergies and was sold, over $150 in supplements and my visit cost over $650. Since taking Brodie home from Valley Vet he has been unable to walk at all on his right leg and developed an ear infection with open sores from the supplements they sold. I called and left messages 5 times for Dr A to call me back, and he never did. The office manager Sandy took one of my calls and was rude and condescending, promised to call me back and never did. My sweet Penelope, our English Bulldog, has a bulging disc in her neck. Surgery is not an option for us. I met Dr. A around 6 years ago. I returned home to find my cat Chucky could not use his back legs, The animal emergency clinic and another vet misdiagnosed him. I was referred to Dr. A, he looked at the x-ray and found the problem was an injury to his back. He was treated with acupuncture and holistic medicine, Chucky is walking to this day. I think the staff is very nice and was surprised compared to my other hospital how clean it looked and smelled. But most important I've had two other vets tell me my dog's allergies would go away with Benadryl and an allergy test to know what dry food not to feed him. WRONG! My friend was right to have me here. Both Dr Pete and Dr Seo got involved with helping and completely changed Bears diet, gave herbs, and said no prescriptions. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the doctors and the staff at Valley Vet. When I brought my Tino to them he suffered a fall which left him paralyzed and the treatment prior from another vet led him into acute pancreatitis and kidney failure. Valley Vet never gave up on my boy and just after a week with their knowledge and treatment both holistic and western plus the love they all showed him...my guy is on the mend!! And is doing awesome. Dr "A" is one of the most outstanding people we have ever met. His love and caring for animals is not something easily surpassed. He has saved the lives of several of our animals which we greatly appreciate. Valley Veterinary has taken excellent care of our 3 Labrador Retrievers, our oldest is 13 1/2 years old and everyone remarks at his vitality and we believe that is in great part to the care given him by Valley Vet's staff and of course Dr A himself.
