I just got off the phone with a woman from Fox Clinic. My dog has been in there frequently for ear infections due to allergies when he gets in the garbage. A death in the family THIS past Tuesday caused me to forget to keep the garbage out of his reach which I explained. No because of them knowing his situation they have allowed me to call in a prescription if and when it happens the last time it happened was last year and it happened again this past Tuesday. It is now Friday as I'm calling in for a prescription I was told by the woman that I have to make an appointment which will take about 3 weeks and could be less than that if an appointment opens up but I can't just jump for them I'm a single woman paying for my own apartment. So thank you fox clinic for making my dog wait weeks while his ears are bleeding. Read Less

Redefining the term "Bait and switch" on the veterinarian level. The automated phone directory states "WALK IN AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAYS". When you walk in: "We stop doing walk in services, you have to fill out an emergency service form." I've heard the SAME pre-recorded directory for 4 years. We signed papers to get to see Spanky..and fell in love with him...we left promising we would come back with our kitten after he healed for a few days.. We came back on sat...they met..no hissing. .no hitting..so we adopted Spanky!! We took him home and after about an hour this sweet boy has adopted us fully!!! We could not be happier..and pig pen, our kitten now has a friend. Stay away from this hell hole. If i could give negative 5 stars I would. My  poor dog who was a patient at Fox was turned away with a bloody infected ear and told to come back to the drop in emergency clinic held on Wednesday mornings a week away.  I was also told be there early because she might not even get seen. Needless to say I took her elsewhere and she was seen the SAME day. While we were waiting to be seen Fox ignored the new vets requests to transfer my dogs records. Nice.  Real nice. Turns out she had such a badly infected ear that she needed ear drops, antibiotics and a steroid for THREE WEEKS.  Don't think that because they are next to The Humane Society in Newington that they are compassionate because that is the farthest thing from the truth. Not worth the "lower" price. I brought my cat in for a check-up because she wasn't eating as much as she used to. I scheduled an appointment several days in advance and the woman on the phone was helpful and cordial. My appointment was for 12:15 on a Thursday. I arrived at the clinic at 12:00 because I expected there to be paperwork to be filled out. I was told to sign in. I waited about 20 minutes before I was even called to start filling out paperwork. I was slightly annoyed, but figured we'd see a doctor soon after.... I was completely wrong. The women that had brought in 3 cats AFTER me were seen and left before I was called in to see the doctor. It's now 1:15, an hour AFTER my appointment time. I tell a receptionist that if I'm not seen in the next ten minutes, I'm going to be leaving (although I recognize that it's not necessarily her fault.) 20 minutes pass (I decide to stay for the sake of my animal who is meowing furiously) and it's 1:35.... an hour and 20 minutes after the appointment .. I'm finally called in to see the doctor. At this point I was livid, but I tried to hold it back. The doctor and nurse were apologetic, and were also very kind. They answered all my questions and my cat was treated with dignity and respect. I was on my way in about 10 minutes. Was it worth the hour and 20 minute wait? No. Had it been a walk-in, I would have understood, but I had scheduled an appointment that should have been honored. They should have been staffed to keep my appointment. Worse part is, there were several families with dogs that came in right as I was being called into see the doctor, and when I came out they were being seen (which means they waited less than 10 minutes.) I will not be going back to the clinic. Read Less

I brought my 4 yr old pit bull into be spayed a month ago. Being a first time dog owner I don't have much to compare it to. But I felt it went as I expected. The staff were helpful, some were friendlier than others, the ones that I wouldn't say were friendly were just matter of fact and it was more personality, I don't feel anyone was rude. I do feel I had ask a lot of questions that they didn't anticipate my questions and give me answers, but in the end I got the info I needed, again I think it was personality. When I had an issue and had to call the direct line almost 2 weeks after the spaying I was called back by a vet and since I didn't get to my phone he had someone call me back the next business day. I always found I had to leave a message and someone would call me back in the evening. This didn't bother me that it worked differently than normal businesses. The spaying and other things my dog had done were 1/2 the price it would have been locally. I traveled an hour to get there. I am going back to do the vaccine clinic b/c I can't find anything local that can compare to their prices. Read Less

I have taken my healthy cats to be vaccinated and spayed at the Fox clinic over the last 7 years. I found the vet techs friendly and warm, and the vets understanding and practical. They don't try to sell you fancier food and expensive tests or treatments - I truly appreciate that! They are very busy - I'll concede, and it is very hard to get to talk to a real live person at the desk! When I tried to make my most recent appointment last week, I ended up playing phone tag with the reception. It seemed easier just to visit them (when I was in the neighborhood) to make the appointment! Its total Bull!!!!They had the audacity to have ANIMAL PLANET HoUSTON on the TV..And its a pure contridiction in what service they are providing..in the end my quote of 30 plus dollars turned to $60 and that doesnt include any meds that might be needed...such lack of concern and compassion for animals...they should be closed down for animal cruelty!!!! My dog was diagnosed with kidney stones 2 years ago and received surgery to remove them. I recently noticed that she was showing symptoms of having the kidney stones again and contacted Fox Memorial Clinic because the surgery for kidney stones is very expensive and my vet informed me that their prices were significantly less than the average vet . I had to leave 3 messages over a two week period of time just to get someone to call me back for an appointment. It's next to impossible to get someone live when you call in, nine times out of ten you talk to an answering machine. When I finally got a call back, I explained to the receptionist the problem that my dog was having in detail and she set up a time for us to come in. I live an hour away from the Fox Memorial Clinic but I felt that it was worth the drive due to the significant difference in cost for surgical procedures, x-rays, etc... At the appointment, they charged me $37.00, took a quick look at my dog and told me that the kidney stones needed to be diagnosed by taking x-rays and we would have to make another appointment for that. They said that the first appointment is normally an evaluation. Huh??? I asked if they had anyone in house that could do the x-rays and they confirmed that they did but they said that was not their normal procedure. I explained that I live an hour away and it would make more sense to get a diagnosis right then and there and they would not accommodate that. The told me that if I felt it were an emergenct, I should take my dog to an emergency clinic!!! So basically, I drove an hour and paid $37.00 for someone to tell me that my dog needs an x-ray that will probably take me another 10 calls to schedule 4 weeks from now. Let me also mention that they aren't the friendliest people I've ever talked to. With that said, my dog is going to her normal vet tomorrow where she will get an evaluation and x-rays in one appointment. The hassle and aggravation isn't worth the lower prices.... Read Less

I can't understand how people have had problems using the Fox clinic? Anytime I have called, they have returned my phone call the same day. Furthermore, we all need to slow down and realize this is a service offered at a much lower cost then your ""friendly"" neighborhood vet, save the complaining for them, they rob us blind using our love for our animals. No matter how good something is, there will always be someone who has had a bad experience, whether it be because the person themselves is having a bad day or the Dr or Nurses may be having a bad day, it happens to all of us. I would suggest giving them another opportunity, I do ot believe for a second that any of the staff is mean to any animal, I own a large breed myself, I would not be offended if they wanted to muzzle her, these dogs can crush bones in the blink of an eye, and even though you know your ""Fido"" is sweet, you never know what he/she will do to protect themselves or you when scared! I would like to thank all the stff at Fox for the love and devotion to these animals and their families, without all of you, many of these pets would not be able to get the medical treatment they need. God Bless all of you! Read Less

It is now Friday and after leaving 3 messages, no one has called me back yet. I know that they have good prices ($59 vs $100+ for neutering), but comon!

Otherwise, they are a fine team of vets, and the front desk folks work hard to keep up their good cheer and humor through their busy day! Read Less

Read Less
