Dr. Haines and his staff are absolutely wonderful. We bring all three of our family pets here, from my parents' pets to our own!!!!! We depend on him for sound medical advice, and he makes sure to charge very little, especially when he knows how other vets rip people off. Dr. Haines truly cares about the animals. He won't perform unnecessary surgery or risky surgery on an aging pet. He gives the least amount of treatment necessary for the condition and listens to the pets owner. I would recommend him to anybody. Read Less

By far the best veterinarian in the state. Care about animals period. You don't lose your paycheck to treat your pet here. They are busy and at times you must call a couple times to get through, bit I've always gotten in immediately with an emergency situation or in reasonable time for routine matters. Dr Haines supported my rescue for over a decade and has helped many abandoned animals for no charge. I've been going to him for almost 20 years and he's always been there for me and my pets. His honesty and expertise have been priceless. He does not do specialty care but he is an amazing general practitioner. The renovated waiting room looks fantastic and seeing the same familiar faces all of these years makes you feel like family. No staff turnover, no unnecessary products or fluffed up charges. Yikes!! We just rescued our adorable pup and we are looking for a vet. I called this office hoping to ask some basic questions and get rates... This conversation would have taken maybe 5 minutes but unfortunately and to my surprise, the receptionist snapped at me!! "I don't have time for this... It's Monday morning... We are so busy in here..." Needless to say, the decision to stay away from this office was confirmed in that very moment. Future tip- treat people with respect even if you are busy!! My husband brought my dog Sable (recently passed) to this location for 18 years. My husband always said how good this vet was how he really liked him. I had never met him, but this past Friday we had to put our beloved Sable down...she just was not doing good and it was time. The vet was very kind and understanding, gave us a couple of beautiful poems to take home and made the process very peaceful for our precious dog. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Dr Haines used to be the greatest vet going and inexpensive. I believe due to a medical condition he is no longer the person he was. Today my cat was seen for a visit and found that he tightly straps animals into a inhumane standing collar (not like it should be done) and cannot even draw blood. Dr Haines continued to increase the size of the needle until the 4th time when he used such a large needle that my near human intelligence cat screamed like never before. Dr Haines used the excuse of "well if she would have just stood still" like that ever happens. There are better approaches! Go ELSEWHERE....it's painful to even watch his work!!! Read Less

Old school vet office  Dr. Haines is very good / calming with my nervous dog; exam and shots with no muss or fuss. Very reasonable rates; I've been upsold horribly at other local vets - extra tests, vaccinations, etc. He's a dog, I love him, but he does not need macro food or more blood work than I get. Only downside - they usually run a bit late, and not always easy to content to via the phone. But all in all, a great no frills vet. Read Less
