I adopted two kitten from Niantic Animal Hospital (brother and sister) and the ladies here have mad me the happiest. I went in with the intention of only adopting the girl kitten (I named her Chanel) and only had the money for one, but once I saw how the boy (Oscar is his name now) looking and meowing at me once we took his sister out of the playpen And we were ready to pay the fee I turned around and asked to hold him because I felt my heart strings being pulled so I said I wanted both, but I didn't have enough so I asked if they would take what money left I had left in my wallet for him and by the grace of luck they said yes because we were getting both so they could stay together. When we first brought them home they were so skittish and shy and always stayed under the bed or climbed into my partners and my dresser at night, but they started opening up after us sitting on the floor for hours with cat toys in our hands. Our little boy was the first to open up to me and would play for hours after and when I needed to get up he would follow me and meow. Our little girl took some time to open up, but I do believe it was because of her brother that she opened up to us. She would hiss and run away when we would try to pick her up or come close to her till she saw Oscar getting attention from us and it was like he told her some how that we were ok. I do believe if we hadn't gotten both and just our baby girl she wouldn't be the loving and caring cat I have today. Oscar is so talented and personable he fetches when to through his toy balls with the bells in them and he will sit with you and both of them now lay with you in bed and cuddle when it's bed time. I will forever be thankful to the people at Niantic Animal Hospital and I will only adopt my pets from them from now on. And my partner and I are thinking about getting another little baby in the future. Read Less

I had an appointment for my dog to have dental suigery. I paid for the exam and lab work as was required for her surgery . The following week. Although we were on time the Doctor had some complications with the privious patient . I was asked to check back in 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour. When I did call to see what was happening , I was told to check again in 15 minutes. I did . The response was the same. I was asked to wait another 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour. I said I was leaving for home and I was offered another appointment . I said I wasn't ready to make a new appointment . When I called back the next day I was told that they could no longer accept myself or my dog! I asked to talk to the owner and am still waiting for a call! Read Less

We have been bringing our animals to Niantic Animal Hospital for years. We have had dogs and cats and had amazing care. They saved my dogs life more than once from several different problems that poodles seem to have *sigh*. I brought my dog to them this summer for his shots and an exam. They told me he was in great shape. He died Friday night from diabetic seizure. We had no idea that he was diabetic or anemic. It was a total shock to us. We though he was in great shape. They seem to cater more toward cats. They definetely were not thorough enough with my dog. Now he's gone.... Read Less

I think that the Niantic Animal Hospital offers the very best Vets in Southeastern Connecticut. Everyone in my family who has pets goes there and has been doing so for many years with many pets. There is a lot of animal compassion in that office. The doctors have about a dozen live-in cats that they care for -- like no other vet's office I have ever seen. They truly love animals and will not abandon any. They are very caring in that office and that is a very important factor for me. They are also very knowledgeable and give every concern high importance. I would never, ever think of taking my pets anywhere else.
