I have used Dr. Murphy since he started in Stratford almost 40 years ago. He and his staff have always been attentive and caring. I will say that the office is not "cutting edge," but more like a "Country Vet." This is more to my liking. Prices are fair. It feels more like a practice, and less like a business. Read Less

I was referred here by a friend who grew up in the area. The veterinarian and vet techs are all good and clearly care about what they're doing. Beyond that the best thing about this place is that you do not get a sales pitch every time you go there. The vet does not try to sell you on some special formula or multivitamin every time you go in, which I appreciate. Read Less

Stay away! I took my beloved 95lb dog because of an acute issue (ruptured tumor on her side). We all determined she needed to be put down (that isn't the issue in question). However, when we arrived, they made us hoist her up on top of a 4' tall table (they have no automatic tables) because it was "easier for them." They shaved her arm to administer only the one chemical cocktail that would euthanize her (I have always had vets administer a sedative before the official chemical). They botched it, missed the vein and my poor dog became increasingly upset, whining, whimpering and crying loudly. They had to get another syringe, shave her other arm, wrestle to find another vein and finally, after 5 minutes of anguish, she left us. What a total disaster! It is traumatizing enough to have to lose a member of the family, no one (human or canine...or anyone else) should have to have his/her last few minutes on this earth be terrifying! Read Less

I have had to put 5 cats to sleep over my life time - all were done peacefully in other vet offices. Not this time ----- I took my Beloved Cat of 17 years in today. He was very sick and it was time. They did not wait for the tranquilizer to really set in - they made his last minutes horrific. They treated my baby like it was just another "job". He was not sedated like he should have been - he was able to growl and shake - it was a very tramatizing experience. My husband and I had to bear going thru with this because it was already in progress. They did not offer their sympathy to us and at the end they tried to make us pay and not bill us --- we HAD been regular customers until then - we live right down the street. We have 3 other cats - none of which will ever be brought to this office. I am left with a terrible terrible memory of my baby's last minutes - something that should have been peacefull not painful and tramatizing. Read Less
