If you're looking for warmth, compassion, and an easy informative style ... keep looking. Dr Rothstein seems well informed in her specialty of dermatology, but treated our dog as if he were an inanimate object. I found her brusque on the phone and highly judgmental. We have a champion standard poodle recently dx with sebaceous adenitis. We were attempting to discuss alternative treatments and she snapped, "most people won't risk their dogs health over a PURELY cosmetic condition" ... our breeder (world renown) has concurred that this incurable life long condition is NOT a PURELY cosmetic condition -- it is uncomfortable for a dog to be without a coat, have a scaly residue, and potential infection - scabs - inflammation- etc. I was very offended by her insinuation that we were somehow vain and insensitive to the potential side effects of many of these treatment approaches we were trying to discuss. We have had Standard Poodles for 20 years and they are part of our family. Dr. Rothstein's sarcasm borders on rudeness and we were surprised that someone in the field of dermatology would not appreciate the emotional impact of this disease upon the pet (and the owners) ... She had better check her (ahem) bedside manner. We were warned about her before we made the appointment, but it was still shocking. Regardless of how many initials someone may have AFTER their name, it's their empathy that makes them a real HEALER.DR. Sandra Scantling, Farmington - CT 06032 Read Less
