in the quest to find a Veterinary Clinic that is run by and employs compassionate, economical, helpful, engaged and understanding staff this turned out to NOT be one. In fact, they "fired" me and my dogs by turning their backs on helping my dog because they didn't like filling out the forms necessary for me to receive reimbursement from the insurance company we pay a lot of money to each month so we can provide the best care for our dogs. I have NO idea why it became such a drama and they (not sure exactly who but it appears the Vet and the office manager, who is the Chief Vet's wife) seem to have decided on their own that I asked them to perform some sort of unethical act by requesting they are specific in wording their diagnosis instead of sending in a form to the insurance company that says "dental procedure". The insurance supervisor said that it was too vague and that though the Dr says there's bacteria in the dogs mouth that must be removed, she refused to write anything more than Dental procedure making it seem it's a routine dental cleaning and would cost me $500 out of pocket when I pay $125 a month for my 2 dogs BECAUSE CT is way more expensive than NY and therefore monthly premiums cost more....bottom line, Georgetown is not interested in forging relationships with clients and helping their pets if they can't pay out of their nose. Also, I have learned that when wives of the Vet's are the office manager's they are very snippy and feel like they can afford to turn away clients. At this point, we are looking at this as an adventure to find the best care possible for our fur babies. next week We have an appointment at yet, another Vet clinic, not a private one, not run by a wife fingers crossed we found our Vet, the receptionist said they deal with insurance form all week long and understand the sensitivity in wording the claims properly and how important it is for pet owners. Also at this clinic, 1st appointment is free. Visits are not cheap if it's not a "revisit" but at this point, I think we're prepared.BTW, here's a great article:veterinaryteambrief.com/…and this one too:angryvet.com/the-cost-of… Read Less
