I just moved to the area and have been searching online for vet reviews. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I called Georgetown Vet and talked with the receptionist who was super helpful. Dr. Rosenblitt saw both my dogs and was so sweet and kind. She explained everything they were going to do and if anything more popped up that they wanted to look for, Liz would come out and let me know as well as price difference. Liz was awesome about explaining things as well as Kate when she told me my dog had Anaplasmosis (tick borne disease)Everyone was so wonderful with my dogs and I am so appreciative to have just moved here and found an awesome vet on the first try. I have to say I was pleasantly pleased with the pricing as well. I highly recommend them. Read Less

There are many vets to choose from in the area, but I highly recommend this one! In addition to being at the top of their classes at prestigious veterinary schools, all three of the doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. The staff in front is also great. I have been taking my dog here for almost his entire life (7 short years), and I grew to know each doctor, tech, assistant and receptionist, and consider them all my friends for what they did for my dog (and me!). Sadly, he lost his life this month due to a terminal illness, but he died surrounded by love. I received handwritten sympathy cards from each of the doctors, hugs from the staff, and a pawprint impression of my little guy a week later. They really care here! If you love your pet, they will love him too. Read Less

I was recently referred to Dr. Gamez by my regular vet for the care of a sick goldfish.  That alone speaks volumes about the compassion of this veterinarian (it's not easy to find someone who will treat goldfish!).   My initial impression was that the office was very clean and the staff friendly.  What really impressed me was the wide variety of animals being treated.   As for my goldfish,  Dr. Gamez and her staff were very caring, and went above and beyond my expectations to find a cure.I have owned several pets (two dogs, many cats) over the years, and have visited many vets.  It's obvious that Dr. Gamez is someone who genuinely cares about the animals she treats and I'd trust her with the wellbeing if my pets.  Other reviewers have commented on cost, but I didn't find their pricing to be different from what I pay elsewhere (just ask for pricing at the start so there are no surprises at checkout).  Overall,  I would absolutely, and wholeheartedly, recommend Georgetown Veterinary. Buyer Beware 12 years ago I adopted a puppy I thought Georgetown Vet Hospital would be good fit for me. it was close to my home and I thought if there was a 911 I could rush my dog over to them pretty fast . I made the appt , she went in and oh boy I received serious over charging on my bill and she received unessasary meds during her visit there.  It still bothers me to this day that I found out later on that my puppy had way too much anesthesia and meds for her size . She went in for vaccinations and to be spayed it was a whopping  $1000!!  I was really struggling then financially, but my pet was important to me.  I didn't know any better, and I wasn't educated like I am now on what she really needed. I probably could have done a few things and gone back to have a few things done. Also  they wouldn't let me make payments I paid the whole thing at the door ....I love the vets I have now , and found out that not every vet like Georgetown Vet price Gouge !!! Read Less

The last reviewer complained about this vet not filing out insurance papers.  It is impossible to conclude from Dremora D's complaint that the vet declined to fill out the papers because of a desire to not fill out forms, as opposed to ethical or regulatory concerns in reporting procedures to an insurance company.  If this is not the vet who can assist you in this way, Dremora D., go to someone else.    But a one-star review, because of this "problem", is unjustified.  This vet is excellent; professional and kind.  And unlike some, they do not gouge clients by promoting products (shamelessly, profit-driven recommendations).  My rating is on the basis of the care of the animals, not merely their pursuit of repeat clients.      I have a happy macaw. in the quest to find a Veterinary Clinic that is run by and employs compassionate, economical, helpful, engaged and understanding staff this turned out to NOT be one.  In fact, they "fired" me and my dogs by turning their backs on helping my dog because they didn't like  filling out the forms necessary for me to receive reimbursement from the insurance company we pay a lot of money to each month so we can provide the best care for our dogs.  I have NO idea why it became such a drama and they (not sure exactly who but it appears the Vet and the office manager, who is the Chief Vet's wife) seem to have decided on their own that I asked them to perform some sort of unethical act by requesting they are specific in wording their diagnosis instead of sending in a form to the insurance company that says "dental procedure".  The insurance supervisor said that it was too vague and that though the Dr says there's bacteria in the dogs mouth that must be removed, she refused to write anything more than Dental procedure making it seem it's a routine dental cleaning and would cost me $500 out of pocket when I pay $125 a month for my 2 dogs BECAUSE CT is way more expensive than NY and therefore monthly premiums cost more....bottom line, Georgetown is not interested in forging relationships with clients and helping their pets if they can't pay out of their nose. Also, I have learned that when wives of the Vet's are the office manager's they are very snippy and feel like they can afford to turn away clients. At this point, we are looking at this as an adventure to find the best care possible for our fur babies.  next week We have an appointment at yet, another Vet clinic, not a private one, not run by a wife fingers crossed we found our Vet, the receptionist said they deal with insurance form all week long and understand the sensitivity in wording the claims properly and how important it is for pet owners.  Also at this clinic, 1st appointment is free.  Visits are not cheap if it's not a "revisit" but at this point, I think we're prepared.BTW, here's a great article:veterinaryteambrief.com/…and this one too:angryvet.com/the-cost-of… Read Less
