Do not take your pet to this place! I have never experienced such rude and nasty treatment as a client. I had been taking my cat here for 4 years, since he was a kitten. I recently moved into the city, but I still brought my cat here whenever I could to keep his care consistent. Last week, I scheduled a dental cleaning for him. When I brought him in, I explained that my cat had had a recent visit to a vet in the city who said he should have a dental cleaning, but that I wanted to bring him to Ridgefield Animal Hospital since I had trusted them in the past with a similar procedure.
What followed was an appalling and belligerent tirade by the vet’s brother, Mark Heidinger, who is unfortunately the receptionist. His loud, sarcastic rant went approximately as follows: “Guess what, we’re not doing his dental cleaning here. You went somewhere else so you’re no longer a client here. This is ridiculous. We’re just patsies, we’re just patsies to you, so guess what, we’re not doing it! Take your cat and get out.” (Side note: I believe he’s the first person I’ve heard use the word “patsy” since my great grandmother – most likely because he lives with his 89-year-old mother, which he angrily and unnecessarily shared with me the day before when I asked if I could drop my cat off early).
My experience here was never great to begin with; each time I came in they acted like they had never seen me before, and the vet is quite cold and aloof.
