Our experience was pretty good. Our arrival though could have been better. Our dog ate chocolate late one night and he wasn’t handling it well in his belly. We brought our pup to the emergency vet hospital in rocky hill around midnight. The nurse who let us in didn’t have the best bedside manner. She kind of rushed us and acted as though our visit was an inconvenience. We weren’t informed about being seen by the vet, she took our paperwork and just walked into the back, without saying a word. We waited about 10-15 minutes before she came to bring us to an exam room. The vet was VERY friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed like he cared about our pup. He gave his recommendation in laymen’s terms so we felt comfortable and at ease with the situation. That nurse that greeted us was VERY pleasant in the end upon our exit. I have been going to Dr David Haviar since early 1980's. All of my dogs have been treated over the years by either David, Jason or Kristin. They've treated each of my dogs with excellent care and sensitivity during annual visits, emergencies, and serious illnesses. Most recently, I called for my dog who had an eye issue. Our neighbors have always highly recommended Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. After several years with a previous veterinarian we finally decided to switch. I have two dogs and it’s easier for me to bring them separately. I thought it was so nice that the office staff made sure both dogs would be seen by the same doctor so a history can be developed with both the dogs and the owner. Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill is the best vet I have ever used in more than 30 years of owning dogs. Everyone cares as much about my dogs as I do. My Springer Spaniel Angel just spent a week there after complications from a pregnancy of 14 pups. Not only did Dr Jason Haviar save 13 of the 14 pups but Doc and Dr Jason saved Angel’s life. I don’t think I have cried so much in one week in a long time. From gratitude to worry but mostly for the love and care AHRH showed to Angel and to me - every single time I called to check on her and even encouraging me to visit - which always made me happy. The knowledge of the entire staff and the love they have for the animals in their care makes AHRH a top notch Vet Hospital. A huge thank you to every single person on the staff. We highly recommend the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill!  We have been going to Dr. David Havier since the '80's with a multitude of pets and now see his daughter who became a vet following in his footsteps.  We cannot say enough about the quality of care and service we receive for our dogs and cats.  They offer advice and options for our pets' care that we may or may not take - for example we choose not to do teeth cleanings for any of them - and they are always caring, considerate and completely nonjudgmental about our choices.  Importantly, the facility is immaculate! There are separate areas for dogs and cats, which is helpful when you have a skittish kitty or a rambunctious puppy :)  Their prices are reasonable and in line with other vets offices. I know because I asked around when we moved, and we continue to drive from out of town to go there.  They treat our pets with the same love and care we would.  Go there.  We trust them and highly recommend the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. I had my first visit with Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill. I was very pleased with the entire experience. The receptionist was so pleasant, the vet tech was wonderful and the vet Kristin Haviar was absolutely wonderful. She spent so much time listening to my concerns and thoroughly examined my cat Molly who was sick. I felt she genuinely cared about her and also how I was doing too. I have switched both my cats over to this veterinary hospital. We love Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill! The staff helped us make connections to adopt our Boston Terrier Rescues and we head back to Rocky Hill for all our vetting needs. Routine visits are taken care of quickly and efficiently and emergency visits are handled with care and understanding. I can not say enough about this Vet. One of our 3 pups began throwing up blood on Saturday at 2 am in the morning. My girlfriend was out of state at a dog show and is more knowledgeable in situations like this. Needless to say, I was freaking out scrambling to find a reliable and affordable emergency vet. I have heard too many stories about ER vets that unnecessarily overprice and take advantage of people in a scary situation like this. I settled on the Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill, and I am SO GLAD I did. From the moment we walked in the lady at the desk was so kind and prompt. Mason got right in and they got to work getting our boy to feel better. We were given a High/Low price range, and they only required a percentage of the total estimate down at the time, and the rest when we picked him up from his overnight stay to get fluids for his severe dehydration and pancreatitis. When we picked him, he was feeling so much better AND they charged us $200 LESS than our low end price estimate. Unfortunately the next day one of our other pups started showing the same symptoms, so we rushed him right in. We received the same AMAZING service and saw a different Doctor and nurse, who were just as amazing as the day prior. We caught it the second time much quicker and were able to get outpatient service. If anyone writes a bad review about this place, be aware that it is probably "competing" veterinary hospitals and holds zero merit. We will never bring any of our pets anywhere but here again, without question. I can not thank them enough for being so kind at such a scary time, I really wish all vets were the same when it comes to our fur babies and it breaks my heart when I hear such heart wrenching stories about bad experiences at other veterinary hospitals. If anyone from the office sees this, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of our Mason and Kobe. I have brought several dogs in here during the night because it is closer than my regular vet, and my pets have always received great care. I brought my beagle mix in last night after he ate a serious quantity of foam bedding. The staff kept him safe and comfortable through the rest of the night until I could get him to see his regular doctor. Dr. Roasa was very kind about answering all of my questions and giving me time to consider my options. When I checked out, they told me that they had overquoted me on my deposit and issued a partial refund. It would have been easy enough for them not to do so, and I really appreciate their honesty. I love this place. And I am thankful I don't have to visit too often! Last night my little border collie was in a dog fight and got a few bites and injuries. They took us right in and cleaned her up and took care of her wounds. Dr. Roasa was great to talk with and explained everything very clearly. Two days ago, our vet in Glastonbury recommended that we admit our Alice to spend the night so that she could be monitored. She was listless, lethargic, and there was definitely something wrong with her. We picked her up yesterday and transported her back to our vet for the day. She remained on fluids and was monitored. She is now home with us and back to her old self. The entire staff at Rocky Hill is fantastic. They kept us up to date on her overnight progress and were so kind from beginning to end. I took my dog there because she was having trouble breathing. Dr. David Havier came in and took plenty of time with us. I was very pleased by his demeanor and genuine concern for our dog. We had to be referred out. Unfortunately, my dog had to be put down a few weeks later. We went in to the 24 hour ER. We were extremely upset and crying. Again we were met with a compassionate staff. This property is nestled between two quaint home town communities. They're open 24 hours a day   We took our cat there who was in really bad shape, close to death, so sad. The facility is immaculate! The staff is the best I have ever encountered. We had an emergency with our cat, Bobby. Banfield took $1000 and Kennedy Road Vet Clinic would have taken $3000. Very long story short: Rocky Hill could have said, "Yes, we can save your cat's life. That will be $1000-$3000." However, what they did say was much more appreciated. Based on the tests Banfield ran before they did Bobby's procedure, they never should have put him through that. It was too late and the most humane thing to do is put him down. What I have learned from all of this is when you are in this situation, there are two types of vets. 1) Vets who are willing to take advantage of your sadness and grief by making you feel guilty and then exploiting you financially. 2) Vets who are kind and realistic who truly want to do what is best for  you and your pet, even if that means making difficult decisions. The Animal Hospital of Rocky Hill is my favorite veterinarian practice! I had changed hospitals three times before settling on this group and have been using them for years now. They are compassionate and courteous to your pets needs with practical pricing. The office managers Laura and Silvia are so customer friendly and helpful. I've used both Dr. Kristin and Dr. Shawn who have been able to answer all of my questions and handle my dogs medical needs. Techs Kevin and Lisa are fantastic. The  Veterinarians Doctors are amazing and knowledgeable . The staff from the front desk staff to Vet  technicians and kennel staff is A Plus. dog Bella health top priority. I've been coming her  and see the main  chief Dr David 10  plus years  before Bella I had Shelby and now Bella I feel pretty lucky . Love! I've been taking both of my dogs here for 3 years. We had an ER visit too, I would have done anything they said, but they actually told me an MRI was not needed, the results wouldnt change the treatment, but they would do it if I wanted..so that saved me alot of money.  Everyone is always very nice.  The place is clean.  they always run on time.  They have affordable medications, and they will mail them to you for a small fee.I have no desire to shop around for another vet.Also, my dad, 2 aunts, and uncle all take their dogs here. Outstanding. The vet here saved my cat's life several times. My first cat had UTI issues and needed major surgery. The vet sewed him back up perfectly and my cat's health has been excellent since. The ER service is wonderful. I showed up there several times in the middle of the night with a very sick kitty. The staff was attentive, kind, and helpful. They offered me the low cost solutions first. I have since moved far from this area so I no longer bring my cats here. For major procedures and emergencies, I highly recommend this vet. However, the record-keeping seems a bit problematic. The staff tried to charge me for a visit I didn't make. Only after they double checked their records did they realize they had sent me a bill for someone else's pet visit. The bill clerk's initial assumption was that the bill was right and I was wrong. I was baffled that they wanted to charge more than $100 for a visit I did not make. This is the only time that happened and I doubt it reflects the typical experience of most clients. That was the only issue I ever had for them. If you get a bill in the mail from them, think twice. Most clients pay the bill in full at the time of service, so you should not be getting vet bills in the mail. Read Less
