My dog has had a number of issues in the past year and Dr.Kissel has been amazing through all these ordeals. She gives great recommendations, is thorough and communicates very well regarding the condition of your pet. This was my first visit and it happened to be a emergency visit. Oronoque Animal Hospital is a wonderful loving place to bring you pet. They care for your pet as if it was their own. Dr Sheldon took care of our Rosie while we were visiting our son. He did his best and successfully managed her injury. He explained the procedure and the possibilities. I don't even know where to begin with how wonderful Oronoque Animal Hospital is. I just became a new dog mom at the age of 28 and the staff has been SO amazing!! Oronoque Animal Hospital has taken care of my pets for the last 15 years.  That in itself says everything.  Dr. Yessenow has held my hand through the many difficult procedures needed in taking care of my cat who lived to be 15 and my Golden who lived to be 13. Today, I was faced with a very challenging situation as one of my old pals, a cat named Blue was exhibiting signs of nearing end of quality of life. With my normal vet being away due to a death in the family, I was faced with finding a vet who would be able to see my Blue cat. I must say that immediately upon walking in after making a phone call from home and given a time to show up, I felt right at ease. Once inside the room, myself and Dr. Kari Kissel had a discussion on my cat's history and current status. Kassandra Franko assisted, and between the two of these wonderful people the painful choice of having to say goodbye was in fact not painful at all but peaceful, as the whole end of life procedure was taken very slowly and with Blue's wellbeing along with my own being most paramount. In over twenty years of rescuing cats, I have never seen an ending so peaceful, where I was able to really be with my little pal and my cat knowing that everything was going to be alright, purring right up to the very end, when he then drifted off to sleep. Once the gift of eternal peace was completed, Dr. Kissel spent a little bit of time simply making small talk with me, as again this was my very first visit. As I left, Kassandra walked me to my car, and we had a nice little talk as well which was for me a great source of comfort. Such compassion and understanding not only towards my sick cat but also towards me is something I shall never forget, along with the kindness which both these two women and the wonderful receptionist exhibited today. Id give 0 starts if I could. The vet we saw was cold and unprofessional. He didn't even introduced himself, pet my dog or let her sniff him. He just expected me to lift a stressed out 70 lb dog onto a table where he manhandled her. Luckily my dog is well behaved because a complete stranger whom didn't even introduce himself to her just poked and prodded her in a rough and cold manner. I wish we lived near Oronoque Animal Hospital as we have two wonderful Westies Gracie 3 years and Winston, who will be 1 year on January 1, 2015. They would benefit from the Staff of this Hospital and their commitment to all pets where ever they may be. A perfect example is Staff from this Animal Hospital volunteered their medical expertise during the Katrina disaster and saved hundreds of family pets lost in the flooding in the New Orleans area, until they could be reunited with their families. There is something very special about the Staff of this Hospital and their Commitment and Love for all Animals. Their Web site takes a great deal of time, creativity, and knowledge to maintain. I started taking my dog there after moving to CT and I'm very pleased with the service. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and more important knowledgeable. They have tons of business so make sure to make an appointment in advance unless of course it's an emergency. The place is cozy and even though you can hear everything they say in the examination rooms, it's still a great place. I definitely recommend it. The price is average. Not the cheapest but not expensive either. The only thing is I wish they had recommendations on boarding facilities. One of the vet there has its own but they keep the animals in kennels and just get walks throughout the day. I prefer when they are in day care during the day and in kennels only at night. Read Less

I have been taking my dachshund here for 10 years and she has had a host of medical problems since she was a puppy. This place is by far the most efficient, cost effective, friendly, reliable, personable and talented staff/vet practice I have ever been to as far as animal care goes. Not only are they (the staff) all smart, but they are personable and explain everything with great detail and care. If you live anywhere within a 30 mile radius of this place, it is worth a trip if you are seeking the top medical care for your pet at a reasonable price. Anyone who disagrees or thinks otherwise must be confusing this establishment for another place that is subpar-----or perhaps an owner that had a violent pet that was neglected to the point of needing expensive treatments due to lack of care.
