Vca Animal Hospital Of Vernon

Vernon, Connecticut
General Info
Each visit to VCA Animal Hospital of Vernon in Vernon begins a silent conversation. The glances and movements talk about loyalty and love, and Connecticut families listen. Exams start not in the gym but in the mind. Staff observe micro-behaviors: how the animal breathes when it hears someone’s voice, whether it approaches or retreats from movement, and what happens when it makes eye contact. Care then unfolds in parts. The joints and the skin coat would rely on how the pet anchored itself for leaning or stiffening. When a horse shows signs of trust, the examination expands to include teeth, abdomen, and heart rhythm checks. Pet owners also provide background information regarding changes in their daily life, identify new sounds that affect the animal and specify when walking or feeding habits began to change. VCA Animal Hospital of Vernon offers a general suite of services that include: initial life stage examination and diagnostics procedures, energy balance methodologies, dental strategies, joint monitoring techniques for age-related factors and illness specific mapping. Behavioral patterns determine the boundaries, which fluctuate accordingly. Certain appointments have a tendency to move rapidly because of several obvious signals of consent. Several stages unfold slowly, allowing the animal to understand each step. Pets needing recalibration can take advantage of the quiet, pause zones before entering the main area. Post-visit care focuses on the household elements that need translation. Elements to observe during sleep patterns; methods to reestablish routines and timing for detecting silent signals, such as familial withdrawal, reduced appetite or spatial defence. The owners’ instruction states that the timing needs to be monitored together with other signs. At what time does restlessness appear? During which time period do hesitations peak? VCA Animal Hospital of Vernon helps families in the surrounding areas of Vernon recognize that pet behavior is a living signal the animal constantly presents.

My cat, a Russian Blue whom I call Blue (not very original, I know) was diagnosed with late stage renal failure/disease. Blue will be four years old in April. For the past week, I was living a nightmare. My cats are just as much a part of my life as my parents, brother, and sister are. I was devastated when I got the news from Blue's blood panel. His creatinine was over 7 (anything > 2.5 isn't good) and I was told the only thing that can be done was to give him eventual palliative care; to make him comfortable until euthanization. Heartbroken, I started planning in my head what I'd do and what I'd feel when he is gone. Had I relied on the veterinarian who told me nothing could be done to restore the health of my cat, Blue surely would have passed; which is why I want to thank and recognize Dr. Sonja Weissbach of VCA Animal Hospital of Vernon for saving Blue's life. Dr. Weissbach is perhaps the most compassionate and tenacious MD I've met. What she did was just what TV show "House, MD" actor Greg House does: take an introspective look at the problem and using her repertoire of medical expertise, prescribe hope when all hope seems lost. Dr. Weissbach resisted the overwhelming odds against Blue and put Blue on a regimen of medication uniquely tailored to his very unique problem. I assure you, no medical textbook will offer a path to recovery with renal failure/failing kidneys with a creatinine level north of seven. Dr. Weissbach persevered and saved Blue's life. His creatinine level is now 2.2, and that is a miraculous change. It is with this experience I wholly recommend the services specifically of Dr. Weissbach for the medical care of your pet(s). I put my faith in her decisions, and my cat was blessed with a best-case outcome. Dr. Weissbach prevailed. Dr. Weissbach is an invaluable asset to this medical group. Blue is alive and healthy thanks to the forward thinking of Dr. Weissbach and the courteous VCA team. Such a triumphant win over Blue's disease cannot be summed up in words. From the bottom of our hearts, Blue and I thank you! ~ David J. Helton Ph.D. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about this vet. Two years ago I rescued a stray cat. She turned out to have an invasive oral cancer and for the two months she lived, Vernon VCA was with me every step of the way. Far from only being in it for the money, they gave me a break on her treatments, since I was there so often. Even though it was clear that she wasn't going to make it, they treated her and me kindly and with respect. When it was time for her to be helped out of her suffering, they were kind and understanding, and Dr. Aronson was the opposite of cold--even he had tears in his eyes as Gracie breathed her last. And after she was gone, I got a condolence card signed by every member of the staff, with a personal note. They do that for all the animals that pass on. My living cats are well taken care of, and they even have reduced prices on vaccines on Mondays. If there were more stars, I would give them, but I trust them with my animals and that alone says it all. Read Less
