I used to go to a just-cats clinic in VA and this place definitely exceeded my expectations. I have not been able to tour the boarding area (will edit this post next visit), but the exam itself was amazing. They checked everything! And they even showed me her gums to explain that she will need dental work again (darn genetics). I feel very comfortable leaving her in the hands of these great veterinarians. It is a little pricier than a PetSmart Banfield but I would rather pay a little extra knowing she's in a place where they continuously see cats all day and be in a cat-welcoming environment than anywhere else. They were even able to give me an estimate for her dental work and explained every part of the procedure and the low and high totals. I now how a ton of information and pamphlets to help with her teeth and even extra for all the additional questions I asked about car rides and Revolution. I love this vet. They are cats only which is great, they are very in tune with cats behavior and neurosis. I have taken four cats to this veterinary office over the years. No, they are not cheap. On the other hand, I have never been made to feel bad for getting basic procedures done elsewhere. Before treatment, they run over the possible costs, and I would expect anyone on a budget to ask even if they didn't. What is invaluable is the experience and dedication this practice offers. The vets here have been willing to examine feral cats that others wouldn't, they helped manage my cat's well being with a cancer diagnosis, and they provide a quiet, friendly environment for my nervous cat with sweaty paws. Appointments are not rushed, my questions are answered (and explained in such a way that I understand where that answer comes from) and at the end I have all my options. By far the best Vet i could have chosen. Dr Lafer is amazing and so thorough. She couldn't have done a better job on my cat Bear's surgery for his teeth. They are a bit pricey but also worked well with me to assure the expense was fair, it was so worth it. She sent pictures of him after surgery and made me feel at ease since i was so nervous about having my cat in surgery at such a young age. They just met my other cat Sassy and worked so great with her considering she is the fussy one. My cat was severely ill... I explained this in my call and hadn't been eating... My problem was compounded as I had an issue where I had to report my credit card lost and did not have access to my account because of this I was limited to going in and seeing this particular vet as a friend of mine allowed me to use his account to authorize the payment. I did everything I could, at least I thought I did, but no matter what I just could not make it in exactly at the time I was supposed to be there. I had 20 different situations happening in a condensed period of time. I really understand that showing up late is serious but so is a life.. I was told by the receptionist that I would be able to still be seen but upon arrival I was handed a paper to go to the emergency veterinary center. She even went on to state that the doctor usually will stay as long as they weren't more than 15 minutes late. For some reason this time she just could not..... I could not go anywhere else at this point and as my own stupidity had it I waited for the next appointment that I scheduled for this morning, yet again I ended up being 5 minutes late this time.. I cannot say this with surety but my observation was that there was a conversation that went on before I even walked into the door. I approached the counter and the lady closest to me looked busy and did not respond to me walking in. I then approached the second receptionist who looked nervous... I started to speak to her and the previously mute receptionist not making any eye contact continued looking down and told me that because I was late 5 minutes into my 9:30 appointment I would not be able to be seen until after 11:30. The words by the pixie like receptionist were curt, pointed, and piercing. Today I had to start work at 10:30 and was squeezing every bit of what I had to do into this time frame. There was no way I could be there. I tried to see if there was anyone else I could get to bring him but I couldn't.. I blame myself for not realizing how serious the situation was... My beautiful Anubis died tonight... It was horrible and about that I wont say anymore.. I do not like this office. I was treated callously and with a level of scrutiny that I really don't understand. I want to make sure this post stays on this companies site... A passer by saw me outside after I was rejected at the appointment and told me that they are extremely overpriced and almost take advantage of their customers. She went on to state that her cat had gingivitis and she was quoted a non formalized amount of 1500.00.... I went into this knowing that I was going to pay over 500.00 for his illness or more... What i WOULDN'T DO to turn back time now. I blame me for everything but the way I was treated knowing the severity of his issues as they should have known by what was described should have played into this situation. I should have chosen aaa clinic but this was closer and my friend couldn't travel that far as he was doing me a favor, and a very large one.. Anubis was seen at cats unlimited before and the vet that never even saw him at the aaa clinic called me back concerned about him and was giving me advice... They cared .... Read Less

BEST vet ever!! They have very responsive, competent and friendly staff and they helped us way beyond of what they had to. We moved to Germany with our cat and they prepared all the paperwork super quickly, which made my life much easier. After coming back to the US, they even send me prescriptions for his k/d food and injection fluids to my new address! I really owe a lot to those people! Read Less

I moved to West Hartford in 2011 with my feline family of 4. For the next three years, the doctors and staff of Cats Unlimited provided clinically competent and psychologically supportive care to each of my cats, saving the life of one, and humanely euthanizing my beloved 17 year old. Almost a year ago, I moved to the Boston area and continue to give my cats the benefit of the knowledgeable care and support of the doctors and staff of Cats Liimited. Any cat companion who wants the best possible care for their cat would do well to visit this veterinary practice. 8/19/15 Since originally writing the above review, one of my beloveds was diagnosed with mammary gland cancer. Dr. Hester and the staff of Cats Limited not only lovingly euthanized her so she would not suffer, they provide loving support and comfort to this broken hearted companion. I first visited this practice back in early 2005. My cat was spayed here, had her microchip implanted here, got all her vaccinations here, got her annual checkups here, and had dental cleanings & extractions done here, all over this 10-year timespan. So I have been here many times over the years, and every single time, I've been treated with courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness, by everybody from the reception desk, to the very knowledgeable and skilled veterinary technicians, to the compassionate veterinarians. The vet who has been my cat's caretaker over these years has been the hospital's founder, Dr. Diana Lafer. She's gone above and beyond the call of duty for me and my cat more times than I can count. As a businessman myself, I've watched with admiration as her practice has evolved and become better and better over the years. I love this place. I've brought all my cats here for years. First Bandit, who died a few years. They took good care of him during his final hours,making time for us even though they were completely booked. They even gave us his ashes in a beautiful tin and a copy of his paw print that we turned into an ornament. What relief! Finally a vet hospital that cares and doesn't make me feel rushed or "processed". Everyone was very nice and the vets do a great job. They are very gentle, and they explain everything.
