Vets rude, he got into argument with me & I had no idea what he was talking about. Told me about dates referring to my pet that weren't my pet. When I ask for explanation what saying he accused me of lying and that I new exactly what he talking about because he said he told me to my face. The truth is I never even spoke with him or saw him period so I was clueless. His staff told me to come in & that's all I did, exactly what staff told me. I did speak with a female from office who told me to come in but I never spoke or saw the vet himself and the animal he was discribing wasn't mine but when I told him he wouldn't hear any of it. Very friendly staff, they truly care about the animals. My cats stitches came out and instead of telling me they cant do anything for me because I didn't have money at the moment they let me come back the next day and pay them. They also answered at 2 am when my friend's bird's wing started bleeding and gave us numbers to 24 hour animal hospitals. Read Less

My husband and I had been going to Dr. Saleh since adopting my dog and two cats. I will say that we had no problem with the people or over-all atmosphere with this place. We did notice that some customers get preferential treatment over others, but we assumed they were either long time customers or had really sick animals? Hey, giving them the benefit of the doubt, right. What we did not enjoy was the long waits we endured. It seems like there is a lot of over booking or booking appointments to close together and not allotting proper time for each pet. We dealt with the wait because we did enjoy this veterinary clinic however, after awhile, waiting for 20 minutes just to pick up and pay for special food or waiting 30-45 minutes before your pet is seen for his or her scheduled appointment...gets frustrating. We decided to leave this clinic and go to a new vet located on Bull Hill Lane in West haven and discovered that our pets were getting over vaccinated for rabies and distemper. We learned that it's up to the doctor to decide on if he or she wants to over vaccinate the animal and that there are no scientific findings that over vaccinating is harmful to your pet however, over paying is harmful to my wallet so, if my pet received a three year rabies or distemper vaccination, I would prefer to return in three years for another one...NOT EVERY YEAR! I also take responsibility for that, because I should have remembered and I never second guessed anything. I'm so used to making an appointment after receiving the vet 'reminder to make an appointment card,' that I never checked the reminder card against my receipts (which do in fact, state that my pets had been receiving three year vaccinations for the past few years). For that, I will never forgive myself. I have no clue if I harmed my dog or cats by allowing them to be over vaccinated?  So basically, I'm just telling you to I did like going to this place and the people were nice but, stay on top of the services you are paying for when you go to this clinic. Didn't have a good experience at all. I felt as if this place just wanted money. We brought our cat in with an eye infection and we ended up leaving with a 200 dollar bill and didnt even get any medicine or anything. He even charged us on sedating our cat because he wouldn't sit still when needing a shot in his neck... Also took him in the other room so we couldn't even see anything. Really skecky place. On top of that he wanted us to come back to do more testing. Called a different vet and knew immediately what was wrong with our baby and fixed the problem for us. We felt as if he knew excatly what was wrong with our cat just wanted to do a billion different test to get extra out of us and that is just wrong. Plus its extremely dirty in there.Would never go back. I did like the vet tech a lot tho she was very nice and helpful, but other than that not a good place in my opinion. Read Less

I was last there over a year ago, i realized my review was never submitted.I wasn't a fan of these guys.  The doctor seemed knowledgeable, and didn't try to upsell me on anything, but his bedside manner was lacking, he was not at all personable and my gf and I often felt like he was screaming at us and our pet.  I think part of it is just cultural and his accent, but it was still very off putting.  I was attracted by the prices which were good.  My Pet insurance has a lot of problems with them when my pet had an event that required hospitalization because they don't keep any medical records.  I quote here "the invoices are the records".  That was a huge turn off.  Also the place did not feel very clean inside.  They definitely needed a "fresh coat of paint" and a face lift. He saved my dog's life, by acknowledging things her previous vet seemed to ignore. He does everything in his power to care for all of the animals that walk through his doors. He cares for his clients, he lets them know the options they have, what he has had luck with, and what can help them best financially. He does not do unnecessary things to put money in his pocket, that is just not the kind of person he is. My Dog Died in my arms immediately following picking him up after what was supposed to be a routine bathing. They neglected to use care not to stress him out and neglected to notice he was in distress which I noticed as soon as I picked him up. He was panting laboriously and foaming from the mouth. There was evidence of bleeding on every paw and they neglected to follow strict instructions to stop if he showed any signs of discomfort. I am heartbroken. His untimely death was a direct result of the treatment he received at this supposed animal hospital and its incompetent staff and negligence of my reasonable requests. This place should have all of its licenses revoked and I intend to see that happens. Steer very clear of this fraudulent veterinary establishment it is anything but a humane animal hospital. I brought My Dog and best friend Max (bubba) to this supposed animal hospital for what I thought was a routine bathing but it turned out to be anything but. My dog died in my arms ten minutes after picking him up as I raced to a real animal hospital in a futile attempt to save his life. He succumbed to heart failure from the stress he endured at that incompetent veterinary establishment. I noticed he was in distress the minute I saw him. There was evidence of bleeding on all his paws and he was panting laboriously. They not only didn't use care not to stress him out they caused his untimely death. I would never recommend this place. I'm heartbroken. They neglected to treat my Dog with care and neglected to notice his distress. This place is negligent in every way except accepting payment. Steer clear if you want your animal to be cared for with compassion. If you want to euthanize your animal, shooting your animal would be more humane than the capacity of this animal hospital. My dog died in my arms ten minutes after I picked him up from getting bathed at this place as I raced to the E.R. in a futile attempt to save his life. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Their supposed to be an animal hospital and they didn't notice my dog was in respiratory distress!! I noticed it as soon as I showed up to get him and I'm not a trained vet. They stressed him out so much that he died of heart failure. I gave strict instructions to go easy and stop if he seemed uncomfortable and they ignored the signs. We've brought all three of our dogs here and had nothing but great experiences, always treated well by everyone there.  and the prices aren't abusive as we've found in other places.Dr. Saleh took the time while at a busy conference (I assume learning and keeping current on his profession) to call and consult us regarding our hit dog. for that and other courtesies -  we will continue to come here ! Update:  We moved to CA but truly give Dr. Saleh and his wife Adel the highest recommendation (as well as the nice girls they hire as staff).   My dog had a difficult surgery and these guys really went the distance - like it was their own dog.  I was really nervous when I first heard all of the attention they were giving him, the meals, the patience, the long surgery, the 3 night stay...i thought i was going to get a $$$$ bill.  When I saw the bill, i thought their must be some mistake and she politely said that sometimes they are easy, sometimes they are hard, but it doesn't change their price.  I almost felt compelled to leave a tip service was that exceptional.  I really feel indebted to them and should we be in CT w/ dogs again, will swing by for a check up.   Thank you so much - Blessings!   Mike, Jing, Charlie, Bucky and Teddy Read Less

Didnt really want to work with me in my time of need with my son's chi. And seemed a little too strong with the little guy, also they didn't cure the problem just treated it, kept asking if I wanted this and that thinking they were being nice but resulted in a lot of charges. What's worse is clipping his nails they broke one and charged me for treating it. Eventually I decided to cure the problem on my own at home. I have gone to Dr. Saleh for 8 years with my Yorkie and I find that he is professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. His prices are very reasonable and he does not recommend multiple tests and work unless necessary. I have even been able to reach him on Sundays when my dog was not well. His wife and rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful also. The office isn't fancy and new, but what matters is the care. Read Less

Worse vet on earth took my bunny to him he gave it amoxicillin which is deadly to rabbits 10:30 at night had to rush the bunny to south wilton to be treated. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS PLACE, i wish i had seen these reviews before i took my rabbit there. I cancelled an app. with a reputable rabbit vet in Stratford to go them they said they did rabbits. He gave my rabbit amoxicillin which i read later that night is toxic to rabbits they die from it. So 10:00 at night i call the South Wilton Vet Hosp, rush my rabbit to the South Wilton Vet Hospital the best rabbit vet in Conn was on duty that night Dr. Lamb she was GREAT she opened up the place for me she said this is very very bad they can die. she could not believe any vet would give a rabbit amoxicillin $300 later my bunny seems to be doing fine. I called them the next day the wife said no no we give to rabbits i said you could have killed him and we still don't know if he will be ok she said you give me her name i call her she is wrong. I said yeah the best rabbit vet in conn. is wrong. Any problems if you can go to the South Wilton Vet Hosp i HIGHLY recommend them. She opened up the place 10:00 at night just to see me this is how bad it was. Dr. Lamb was great she knew everything about rabbits. I am taking this no good bastard to Small Claims Court my poor rabbit could have died a horrible death if not for the wonderful Dr. Lamb. Hoping he will be ok. Read Less

Dr. Saleh and his wife are excellent.  They are both lovely, kind-hearted people who only want what's best for your animal (dog in my case).  My dog is 14 years old and started to seriously hobble around and look miserable.  Dr. Saleh convinced me that doing blood work would be worth it and he was totally right: my dog needed thyroid medicine and a liquid form of doggie motrin.  With these new drugs, she was literally like a new dog in three days.  She's still pretty stiff on really cold days but she no longer favors her legs and isn't limping anymore.  Dr. Saleh is also really cost conscious for you and I found him more than willing to talk about how much things cost.  He also has a very dry and witty banter that is hilarious. I've been incredibly happy with Dr. Saleh. He is kind, thoughtful and always asks me what I'd like to do instead of telling me what to do. He is also very fair with pricing and makes an effort to avoid extra tests or medications if they are not needed. My old vet used to insist on drawing blood for thyroid function for my cat at every visit (which really adds up and is unpleasant for the animal), but Dr. Saleh only draws blood if he thinks there is a problem or if my cat has new symptoms. I trust Dr. Saleh's judgment and he is really the first vet I've had that I would highly recommend. Read Less

I adopted a cat from the W Haven Shelter & Angel Animal Hosp neutered him, shots, etc. I would 100% recommend this VET. They are so accomodating if you need to set up a last minute appt. They tell me to come in & they will squeeze me in. I was worried about my cat gaining weight, I went in for the Dr to take a look, maybe take blood? HE WOULD NOT TAKE ANY MONEY FOR MY VISIT. He told me I could come back in the next month just to weigh the cat and track his progress! NO CHARGE. Where would you find that? My old Vet would charge $80 just to say hello. I've been very happy here--they are great with my pug and extremely knowledgeable.  One time I was traveling with him and forgot his health record.  I called them from O'Hare airport early on a Saturday morning and asked if they could help.  They immediately faxed over his health record to the airport lounge, and we were able to get on our flight to Mexico.  I feel like they are very honest and reasonable with the prices. they are wonderful there,and a emergency visit is $60,it is a husband wife team and i would recommend them, the first time i took my albino cat , she was not eating , drinking water and not moving ,she was dehydrated, and the doctor knew exactly what to do and he gave her a IV and hair ball treatment ,she had a stomach virus, and i did not get charged for stuff that was not needed, he said lets try this and if she is not her self in 2 days we will see what else is needed, well the treatments we tried, by the next day she was back to herself..... he knew what was needed to help her, if they did not care i believe he would have wanted to do x-rays and other stuff. By the way My cats name is ANGEL and when i was searching for a place to take her, the name and the amount of the visit... and i will continue to use their services, He seemed to know that what he did would work, he could tell other procedures were not needed.
