Dr. Ralph Padilla is an absolute delight! On our first encounter we found a tension breaking sense of humor that was an unexpected relief as we were crazy with worry. He is not only very knowledgeable, he is also kind, and genuinely enjoys working with his patients and the many nervous/worried "Moms & Dads". He did emergency surgery and saved our beloved Navi (husky mix) and she recovered fully after she had became suddenly ill. He didn't take advantage of us financially as most places would have done. This harrowing event was our first visit thru a friend's recommendation. Our current vet at the time wanted to charge us almost $6000 without any assurance that she would make it thru the surgery. We opted to go with Dr Ralph who charged us a minimum amount compared to our other quote and we made the RIGHT CHOICE! Don't hesitate as everyone there is friendly, patient, and helpful. They are all warm and welcoming. This is now our permanent vet for our dog, cat and dwarf bunny. My only regret is I wish I had found them sooner. Read Less

Dr. Padilla and his team are wonderful.If you live in the West Haven/New Haven area and are looking for a caring and affordable vet this is your place. I have been bringing my cat Gracie here for over 2 years and I could not be happier. They are also open on the weekend which is a big plus especially when your pet is sick( Who can wait til Monday when your little fluff is really sick?!). Gracie had to have part of her tail removed and the surgery was very affordable. We were very concerned about the cost since another vet quoted us 5X as much. We have had a few follow up visits and during each one he has taken the time to listen to my concerns and he even called me during the holidays to check in and see how she was doing. Dr. Padilla is a guardian angel! My 3yr old cat was literally minutes from dying after ingesting dozens of hair elastics over a month or so. The North Haven Vet Hospital wanted $5-7K to (maybe) save his life. agreed to do the surgery within our budget - $1500 (stomach surgery) and our beautiful kitty is making a full recovery after a a very harrowing and emotionally distressing few months. I can't thank him enough or his caring staff for helping us save our cat. He's truly a vet who cares about your animal and not getting richer as a big corporate outfit. I was told one price for surgury from front desk employee turns out she gave a complete wrong quote !!! From the Super expensive amount that was due at pick up. Vet completely unprofessional! Admitting that his employee messed up on quote. BUT THE ONLY THING HE CAN TELL ME OVER THE PHONE " YOU REALLY GOING TO DO THIS TO ME" WHEN I SAID I CAN PAY THE ORIGINAL QUOTE I WAS TOLD. I have been bringing my dog to the West Haven Animal Clinic since 2005. I have since moved out of West Haven but will always go to this clinic. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and more specifically Dr Padilla is amazing.
