Booked visit to remove a tick from our small dog. Because our dog tried to bite we were given some “chill” pills and advised to come back very next day (tick still sitting on our dog). Came back next day and “doctor” did not even bother to see us. His assistant or whoever it was told him that dog is still anxious and trying to bite. Guess what? “Doctor” said he needs more of those pills! Ask us to come back again next day!? (Tick still sucks blood out of our dog and seems like he is getting more ill because of that). I said i am not giving him anymore of those pills and we left. Found another place nearby and they removed tick in 10 min. Really?! It can be done! Was very unhappy with this vet will never be back. My dog didn't like the staff and was very uncomfortable. The doctor was short and didn't answer most of my questions. They handed me an estimates for over $1000 but wouldn't give me time to discuss with my wife what we wanted to do and kept pressuring us to make a decision. I went into this clinic hopeless because I had been and out the Vet hospital with my dog for two years. I was looking for little compassion and this clinic was no where near that. I was taken into the exam room pretty quickly the person with blue hair that greeted me was extremely friendly to me and my pets 💖. Once my dog was examined I felt Dr had no compassion, I felt pressured by both the assistant n Dr. to get my dog surgery scheduled, here I am explaining how I'm drowned in credit card bills because on going visits and I was seeking another opinion, she made it very clear my dog situation is bad but it is treateable but she will still need surgery. They were so focused on getting me to schedule surgery that I walked out without treatment plan. They both made me feel like I would need to put my dog down if I choose not to do surgery. First and foremost I never said no to surgery, I just didn't have the money at the time of visit I would need time to gather $3k as I was clear I didn't have such large sum of money at their expectations. It was mind blowing to me how they made me feel. I will never return to this clinic nor refer anyone I know. They need to learn the meaning of compassion. Read Less

I brought my puppy Stella here and was very happy with the service hey gave her for her spay. They are not her regular vet, but did an amazing job and were very responsible with her care even calling me after the procedure twice to let me know how she was doing. The next day I picked her up and she was in good spirits considering. They followed up with me again the next day and have always answered my calls when I have a question. Definitely recommend them. We brought out dog here twice and we'll never be back.  The first time my boyfriend brought him and the vet insisted our dog needed a rabies shot.  I reviewed his paperwork from our old vet (which my boyfriend had brought to the appointment) when they got home and discovered our puppy had already had it.  Then we went again this past weekend and the vet tried talking us into the kennel cough shot- until I pointed out yet again that he'd already had that shot.  Clearly no one's reading the medical histories and loading up on the vaccines ($$$).  To make matters worse, our dog had a terrible reaction to the vaccine he did receive, suffering from a high fever for over 24 hours.  The vet never warned us about the negative affects or what to do if our puppy experienced them.  He also never returned our panicked phone call.  Seriously, avoid this place at all costs. My dog had diarrhea. So I had some blood work done on him here few months back. For most part I think they did a fine job. The only thing I found a bit annoying was that they kept pushing for products they have like probiotic diet etc. Also, my dog is not neutered and they were insistent that I should get him neutered. I went to this local vet because my dog was having teeth issues. The staff at the desk was really friendly, however, the vet was horrible. She looked at my Yorkie for 30 seconds and said all of his baby teeth needed to be pulled. It would cost between $900-1500. The vet completely missed that my dog had something lodged in his back teeth that was causing the problem. The vet was rude acting as if I should have already had all his baby teeth removed. She barely touched my dog and had a terrible bedside manner. I found another vet shortly after. I do not recommend this place for any animal.The commenter is right, we were there for 45 minutes and saw the vet for appx 10 minutes. Buster did get an antibiotic shot but I found it hard to believe a vet would look in his mouth and see the baby teeth and not the foreign body. I had all of Busters records forwarded to his new vet and they removed all his baby teeth for 1/2 the cost. Read Less

They take very good care of Ava anytime we bring her, the office is clean and the ladies at the desk are always polite and helpful. They are always pleased to see us. After jumping around to several vets, we have stayed with Beaver Brook for quite some time and it is good to see the goodwill they have built up in a community that needed a good local veterinarian. Ava can be bad tempered around strangers but the vets there always treat her very gently and make her comfortable even though she is freaking out on the inside. I've been impressed with this veterinary office. I have a mean, wild cat, and they totally take her in stride. Everyone, staff and doctor, gives her great care and aren't thrown off by her hissing, scratching, and acting like a nutcase. When she had an ingrown claw, they were able to see her the same day I called, and they dealt with it quickly and well. I've been going here since shortly after they opened. Dr Asher and the entire team are really great. My dog had skin issues for years and I was always told to use this shampoo or that shampoo. In one visit with Dr. Asher, he diagnosed my fur baby as being very allergic and had a skin infection. He gave her an antibiotic shot and started her on a daily dose of allergy pills and within 5 days she was sooo much better than she had been in years. When we had a death in the familly, my daughter was in CT with her Beagle, who needs to have an injection once a month. moved to Wethersfield 15 mos. ago... took me that long to get up the nerve to try a new vet as I am a nut case about my dogs, but my former vets office is a bit of a long drive and I can only get there after work (rush hour), and the rushing out the door and traffic jams were pretty stressful for all of us. Spoke with Dr. Asher at Wethersfield farmers mkt, and appreciated the way he answered my questions. One of my dogs developed an ear infection, so decided to try BBAH. Dr. Asher and staff were super... were very gentle with my dog who was acting pretty timid, and took the time to answer all of my questions, explain my dogs possible issues, and discuss possible further actions I could take to prevent future infections. what initially drew me into this vet was when I called I spoke with a young man who answered all my questions politely and it enticed me to come and check out the facility because I am a first time pet owner looking for a vet. I didn't know they had a free first exam waiver online until he told me so I thought why not? as soon as I got there my kitten was going crazy and weaseled out of his cat carrier bc I had opened the zipper ever so slightly. The receptionist told me to put him back in which is fine but then rudely said "there's a sign". strike 1. As soon as I got into the exam room, which was fast, the first question the assistant asked was if I want to pay 373.00 for a kitten care plan which I told her I would think about because its a lot of money....she didn't seem to like that answer. So then she started asking me questions about how I feed him and stuff telling me get rid of wet food all together and feed him ONLY dry food despite my Bengal cats needs for a high protein diet. THEN she told me not to use advantage multi for my cat that I should really be using revolution even though he is an indoor cat with leash privileges once every few weeks. so this was strike 2 for trying to throw their products down my throat. So then the vet finally came, she seemed nice, I'm sure she came in aware that I hadn't purchased the 373$ plan upon her entrance. My kittens 55.00 exam by the vet was not even 3 minutes long... she looked at his teeth, touched his stomach, checked his heartbeat then left.... Strike 3. At the counter while I was checking out they told me if I want to get him fixed the neutering isn't covered by the 373$ plan ...so I would have to pay an additional 160.00$ plus 80.00$ for "mandatory bloodwork" which they told me is only RECCOMNEDED on the phone....biggest BS I've ever heard. then she told me I have to get 3 vaccines even though by law rabies is the only vaccine required for cats and on top of the 25$ for these vaccines pay the 55.00 for each visit. I'm so happy this clinic opened... Dr Monica is so good with Dexter... We got a free checkup since we were new there and was able to get an appointment within the hour...Other service fees were what i expected them to be, but not outrageous... The practice, in general, is clean and welcoming...The staff is friendly and smiles with you... plus it doesn't smell like blah like other vets... They actually try to make it smell better... I was actually happy Dr Monica was there. My last clinic went out of business and after reading so many crappy reviews of other places, including having a bad experience with some jackass vet, its nice to know this practice exists and doesn't treat your pet like a dollar sign...
