I am grateful to have Double A Veterinary Hospital for my dog Bella. The practice is owned by Andrea Autorino, dvm. She and her staff of veterinarians, techs and assistants are all pet lovers and work with clients to deal quickly with the needs of their pets. They also board cats and dogs. I stumbled upon this practice during a medical emergency with my cat (saddle thrombus), where I was 45 minutes away and my roommate had to bring him to the closest vet that would take him in. I ended up losing my best friend that day but I was blown away by the compassion and care that the vet (I believe it was Dr. Lavery) and staff showed towards my cat, my roommate, and myself. I was in shock and frankly a mess (this was all very abrupt) and Dr. Lavery's manner was a tremendous comfort while she laid out his grim prognosis and options to me. The other members of the staff that helped me were equally helpful and empathetic. It was a huge comfort to have such wonderful people, who clearly care so much about their work and the animals in their care (and even the sobbing, inconsolable humans!) treating my pet in his final hour. I've entrusted the care of my beloved animals to Dr. Autorino since before there was a Double A. She's seen my dogs, cats, rabbits and my horses once upon a time. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate and caring for patients and pet parents alike. I cannot say enough great things about this vet practice. Dr Andrea. Autorino and her staff are the best. I have been bringing my four-legged son - Haze (a pitbull-mix) here for years. Dr. A and her staff are truly passionate about their work and it shows. The practice has a loyal following of clients who entrust this vet practice to taking the best care of their family members (the ones covered in fur) and for good reason. Staff are always friendly and the office is always spotlessly clean. I appreciate that they remember Haze and me each time we visit. They are also sensitive to the fact that Haze does not care for other dogs are always accommodating by letting us use the side entrance. Haze goes Double A for all of his care including his annual physical, nail trimmings, etc. and has even been boarded here when I have gone away. How many people can say that their dog looks forward to going to the vet (he loves the staff). The clinic is conveniently located and there is always plenty of parking. The building is modern and since their remodel a few years ago they now have more space including a special waiting room area designated just for cats. I feel very fortunate that we have such as wonderful and caring vet practice so close to home. I like the fact that they are independent and not affiliated with any of the large corporate vet practices - services is very personal. Please keep up the good work!!! Read Less

I have been bringing my beloved dog there for the past 9 years. I have made numerous calls and a few visits during the past 6 months because my aging dog has some issues with her health that are concerning to me. Every single vet tech is very patient with me and well informed and has given me accurate information on the phone whenever i have a question. They also run my questions by the Vet and get back to me promptly with answers. The Vets are compassionate and always discuss different options on how to provide the best quality of life for my dog. The treat my very senior dog like she is part of their family. I highly recommend this hospital as they truly love animals and their fees are reasonable. Keep up the wonderful work you do Double A. I don't know about these poor reviews but I have witnessed first hand the staff respond to a emergency before payment was even in place . She heals and rehabilitates dogs and then finds new homes for them when their owners abandon them when they are sick! The best vet ever!Read Less

I'm not sure what's up with the nasty and harsh reviews lately. I suspect the they are from the same family or refering to the same case? I strongly disagree with these folks who forgot to take their grumpy pants off! The staff is extremely knowlageble, friendly, and always seem to be working very hard! It's nice to walk into a busness and be treated like family. My dogs have gotten the best care from Double A, including the many suguries that they have gone in for! Disgusting? Animal abuse? Disgusting excuse for a vet. They care more about money than actually helping animals. If I could give it zero stars I would. Dr. Andrea Autorino leaves animals in pain instead of actually helping them or at the very least making them comfortable - even with the owners consent to do what they needed to help the animal. We have been taking our dogs to Double A for many years. They are always friendly and helpful, and Dr. Andrea helped us through the emotional time of putting our dog down 3 1/2 years ago. We just recently got a new puppy and have brought him to double A as well. Our visits recently have been great - the staff is so loving, friendly and knowledgeable when you are there in the office, and we have never felt as though we were rushed through an appointment. There is grass, trash bags and a garbage as you walk from the parking lot to the building for any pets that have to go on the way In. We love the spacious waiting room, there is always plenty of room for families and their pets, big or small. At times it can be difficult to get a hold of them over the phone, and there have been some instances over the years where we have walked to an empty waiting room and are left waiting for a short period of time before someone comes to help us. Hopefully these things will improve, but hey don't deter us from returning either. Read Less

Location - located on a side street off the Silas Deane highway.  Quiet neighborhood.  Parking lot has adequate parking though it seems small.  I've never had any trouble parking when I had appointments there.    Aesthetics - Small grassy area just before you enter in case the pooch has a sniff of the grass and wants to go.  There's available bags outside in case you didn't bring any with you and there's a trash can there as well (though you shouldn't take my word for it and still bring your own poop bags as sometimes there aren't any available).  Upon entering the office,the waiting area is fairly big in case you have a large breed dog and lots of seating as well.  There's a large scale for weighing your pet while you wait if you're brave enough to operate it (usually your pet gets weighed when they're inside meeting with the vet.  Sometimes when you enter, there's no bell or buzzer to tell staff that someone has entered the building so sometimes you can be waiting there for more than a couple minutes for someone to check you in. (-1)Service - Although staff are super friendly over the phone and when you visit the office, the falter when you have to call to make an appointment.  If you must call to make an appointment, their phone can be busy for a long time, and if you do get through, you are usually asked to hold also for a long period of time. (-1)Rating - 3/5.  I only come here because the two vets that respectively take care of my dog and cat.  I wouldn't dream of having anyone else take care of them as the two vets do; however if it wasn't for their sloppy office management skills, e.g. not answering the phone, putting clients on interminable holds, and not checking clients in promptly upon their arrival the place would've garnered a 5-star rating from me.
