Deleting critical reviews on google is unprofessional and telling of the professionalism of the clinic manager. The quality of care at this clinic has decreased significantly. I understand and empathize with the extreme burn out and challenges in finding veterinary staff. Some staff in this clinic lacks professionalism and have a poor bedside manner. the single vet they have on staff is too busy to spend an adequate amount of time with patients and patient families (by no fault of her own). I have had much better responsiveness and a higher level of care for my cat at other clinics I have interacted with in the last month. I would not expect quality care from north windham, nor would I trust them with my precious pets. I recommend pursing other local offices. Read Less

I honestly can't even articulate the words to describe my love and appreciation for the doctors and staff here. We rushed our ferret Bear in to discover he was gravely ill. Sadly, his illness was very advanced & his chances of recovery slim, but they did absolutely everything in their power to try to save him, truly going above and beyond. My Oliver (cat) was not well this morning (Saturday).  He normally gets up when we do and follows us around the kitchen while we make coffee, then looks at us with googly eyes while we drink said coffee because he finds us so irresistibly adorable.  But today he did not get up but stayed sleeping in the swivel chair upstairs.  He then threw up, (he never does) and mewed pitifully.  Even the dog was worried.  He went back to bed without eating his breakfast and mewed occasionally.  This made me sad because Oliver never complains about anything.  :(  I called my regular vet and was told they didn't have any openings today, that I might try another local vet.  I called North Windham Animal Hospital.  The receptionist was very helpful and squeezed us in for an appointment.  We saw Dr. Clark and she was wonderful, told me Oliver had urinary blockage and should be taken to a 24 hour veterinary hospital as he would need to be kept overnight.  They normally would do this, but it was Saturday afternoon by that time and they couldn't keep him since they closed at 5.  She called the 24 hour hospital and set us all up, made copies of all our paperwork for me to bring along.  She really went above and beyond and I am very impressed with this place!  We just found ourselves a new vet. A little more expensive for office visits, but WELL worth it!!!! I had a 13 yr old cat that my previous vet kept trying to treat abscesses. I took "Captain" to North Windham Animal Hospital for a second opinion, come to find out, he had a cancer that causes abscesses. The staff at North Windham Animal Hospital are very caring and supportive when it comes to treatments and procedures with your "furkids". The follow up visit after lancing an abscess and getting stitches was free. I made the tough, good for Captain's welfare, decision to euthanize him. I had him cremated and got a photo frame urn for him. The staff was very sympathetic and sent me Captain's pawprint in a plaster of paris casting. I switched Vets because North Windham Animal Hospital has better hours than my previous vet, seem to know a little more, and though I am interested in other pet stories- they concentrate on my pet first, then share. They also find time to get my baby in to clip his nails because he won't let me do it. My 10 year old boy seems to have bad teeth issues. After removing a few teeth, I received a free bag of oral care food and the follow up exam was free. (I don't know if it was already included in the initial charge) This facility also accepts Care Credit (AWESOME to have as long as you read the fine print and pay on time)Read Less

We took our rabbit on September 5th, 2014 for the first time. We were told to observe him feeding specific things but his health was never stable as before. On November 12th,  2014, 2:20 pm, we took him there again for the same problem. The Dr. said he seemed healthy although his weight went from 3.80 lbs to 3.40 lbs since the first visit. He then prescribed a diuretic medicine meant for dogs and cats to be given and told us to call him after 2 weeks. Also he told us to order a medicine online which we found out flavored with the liver and beef for dogs and cats, while rabbits are herbivore. The next day, our rabbit wasn't doing well, definitely not better, so we called. The Dr. said to stop giving him the diuretic and call him 3 days later. On November 14th 7:45 am, our rabbit died, one day and half later the visit, he died. So decide for yourself, do you want to take your bunny to this place? Why take in exotics if they have no idea what they are dealing with? Read Less

You took such good care of Jax until the very end. And he loved it there!!! He would push the door open himself! And he was going in for chemo! Melissa told me that Jackson would let us know when he had enough and she was sooooooo right! Yesterday he was uncomfortable but he never suffered. You all made his last couple of hours amazing! I will never forget exam room 1 and Jackson surrounded by many of the people who loved him the most! And a big thank you to Dr Beal who I had not met until yesterday but handled our situation with such compassion. Jackson really loved you all!

Best Vet Ever. I think Dr. Jill Dennis is the best vet I have ever taken my dog to. She has an excellent bedside manner and is extremely nice to people and dogs. She explains things very well and she doesn't overcharge you. She has a great deal of experience and common sense. I drove from the cape, because no vets from my area would put my dog under anesthesia. . Go consult Dr. Jill Dennis and get her opinion before you do anything else. The staff that works at the North Windhem Animal Hospital is very nice, friendly, and patient people too. They love dogs and most likely cats too, but, they have been great to my dog. Dr. Dennis saved Bens life, and thanks to her, we are going to have many more years together! Read Less

Read Less

The Auker family would like to thank everyone at North Windham Animal Hospital for the care you gave Jackson and our family! Especially Melissa and Dr Shemer! And although there will never be another Jax we will see you soon when we have a new family member. Thank you all so much!!!!Read Less

Dr. Schemer was a doll when I brought in my days-old baby cottontail. I don't know who was cuter. He certainly knew how to guide me in its survival. With another three weeks' care on my part, it is now living happily at the Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton. If you ever have a chance (or make one), go visit. They operate on donations and are great care-givers as well as wild life educators. Mary Goss Read Less

Expensive but cheaper than previous vets in the long run. We will not change vets. Period. Wisecracking Dr. Friedland resolved an issue on our Dachshund on the first visit our previous vets couldn't understand. Our other dog, a Beagle, was bitten not long ago and we, the owners, we more nervous for a flesh wound than the dog ever was. All staff was very understanding and took us very seriously from the second we walked in. I don't know about the other vets since we are very happy with Dr. Friedland but I cannot imagine bad people working there. Definitely worth checking. Read Less
