I wish my experiences with this vet was as wonderful as Jennifer's. I didn't mind paying higher than ordinary prices because the location was within walking distance of my home. But when they spayed my baby girl, didn't tell me she just started going into heat, then informed me they were billing me additional for it. That was my break point. Not to mention she really shouldn't have been spayed in heat. She also picked up kennel cough during her stay and I never could get rid of it with any meds. Read Less

Connecticut Veterinary Center was recommended to us via a family member who treats their cats as if they are a part of the family.  That said, we quickly switched over after the raving reviews and the nice proximity to our home.  They have a main office in West Hartford, but the satellite office which offers regular office hours is located locally in Windsor.  The staff is always courteous, and they have tremendous bedside manners.  They are always gentle with our dogs, which are, without a doubt, our children so we won't settle for any less.  They are open to questions, spend time to explain tests, procedures, and provide coaching on your topics of interest.  The best part is...they actually know what they are talking about and they truly do care about animals.  Our vet today, actually taught us the proper way to clip our dogs nails - what a nice lesson.  I wish someone had taken the time to teach me that technique long ago.  I am convinced my dog wouldn't hate it quite as much if they did!Our normal vet tends to take, what seems to be a lot of vacations, but she is a new mom so I can understand why.  We didn't have luck this year with our two dogs, in terms of timing, as she wasn't available for their annual physicals.  That said, we had enough confidence in the practice that we marched forward, expecting the same level of service and we saw two different vets this year.  I was thoroughly impressed with both of them, reassuring me and eliminating any lingering doubt as the entire practice has their "stuff" together.  The staff is really flexible too.  We ran out of our Heart Guard, and last minute as they were closing on Saturday, I asked if I could run down to pick up a refill.  She locked the door and waited for me.  This is just one example of how they are - supportive of pet parents who really care for their pets, but lose track of time on occasion.  Only downside, which is why I rated them a 4 vs. 5 star is the cost.  They are a bit more pricey than other vets, but it is well worth the service they provide.  I trust them with my babies' lives and for that, I will pay as much as it takes to ensure they are as happy and healthy as they can possibly be! When our kitten became sick and suddenly took a bad turn, we were having trouble finding a vet who could see him right away. They immediately understood the urgency of the situation and simply asked "how soon can you get here?" to make time in the schedule for him. I was very impressed with the care they took, even requesting that we call very early the next morning to report his status. Their quick attention was absolutely wonderful. Read Less
