Centreville Veterinary Hospital

Wilmington, Delaware
General Info
Centreville Veterinary Hospital is the place to go in Wilmington for kind and knowledgeable care. Their services include Boarding, Grooming, Physical Therapy, Surgery and Ultrasound. The practice’s team understands how much pets mean to the family, and the practice strives to promote health and wellness as well as provide care for chronically and acutely sick pets. Centreville Veterinary Hospital in Wilmington strives to provide veterinary experiences that are comfortable and calming for pets because of the recognition they obtain through repeated patterns. Every day the appointment rooms start from the same setup (furniture, lights, doors) so that I don’t have to think about those things. Personnel perform the procedure with a low voice and minimal movement, pausing between steps to allow the pet to adjust. Odor management targets the elimination of smells between visits (strategic implementation). The pets’ orientation pattern determines whether the owners will sit closer or far from the pets. Centreville Veterinary Hospital offers several services, including diagnostic testing, infection control, joint health improvement, nutritional modification and behavioral consultation, and recovery monitoring. Services are not independent checklist items. They emerge in an integrated sequence. When the animal’s ears lower or it turns away, staff need to repeat low-impact motions such as stroking the air and offering tactile anchors such as towels or sleeves to establish familiar patterns. The aftercare program rules require the post-levels to follow a rhythm. Families are instructed on how to continue with the morning routines at home afterward. Parents should eliminate the stimuli and use soft sounds to regulate the sleeping cycles. In addition, the instructions touch on environmental aspects of the pet’s life and means of returning the dog to its routine activities without feeling lost. Centreville Veterinary Hospital extends its services from Wilmington to the nearby Delaware communities by providing veterinary care that mirrors natural animal regulation through gentle rhythm, predictable space, and low-noise decision-making. They are committed to preventative care, early disease detection, and timely treatment. Clients value the transparency, educational support, and personalization. Whether it is a complex diagnosis or an elderly pet that needs help, they follow through with their cases. As more people learn about them, their reputation continues to expand.

I have boarded my dogs at Centreville a number of times before; however, I have been particularly disappointed by the service recently. When I last picked my dogs up after a short stay at Centreville, I found my bill to be much more expensive than it should have been ($40 extra/dog). The breakdown of the fees explained this to be a fecal testing. My two dogs were coming due for a vaccination, and they were scheduled to receive it from their vet later on in the week. Centreville simply went ahead and charged me for it without informing me of their intentions beforehand. Furthermore, when I did take my dogs to their vet, the vet told me that they had not received the paperwork from Centreville stating that my dogs had received the vaccine while boarding with them.I decided to give Centreville another chance when I had to leave town for the weekend. As I was dropping my dogs off, the woman checking us in asked it if it would be OK that our dogs  be kept in crates (as opposed to the runs that they usually stay in together). I asked to see the crates and found them much too small for my Standard Poodle and Airedale Mix to be kept in. I had made the reservation for my dogs a week in advance (I asked for a run, not two crates) and was highly disappointed to be met with such ill planning. I was even further disappointed by the fact that they expected me to pay the same price for the crates as I would for the runs. I decided to take my dogs home and contacted a petsitter that I know. From now on, I will stick to the petsitting service. Read Less
