This place is AMAZING. The vets here truly care about your animal and are very accommodating. The staff here is so amazing, they remember your animal and the little things about them that makes the experience so much easier for your pet. My poor dog had kennel cough recently and they were so accommodating and got her in the same day so they could see her and give us meds to go home with to get her feeling better quickly. They have great customer service and are so very nice. The doctors really listen to your concerns, and don't hurry you at all. Wether it's her annual check up or other things that come up they always are great. This place is super clean and very welcoming and my dog always feels comfortable here. I definitely recommend this veterinary office. The people here really care about you and your pets. They go above and beyond to make sure they're taken care of and that everything goes as painlessly as possible for them. They are very up front about the costs of procedures and discuss it with you beforehand. They also have a fantastic bedside manner, which is something I appreciate. We were seen by Dr. Hillary Wolfe, their technician Mike Palchus, and the receptionist that day was Kelly Nixon. All of them did a wonderful job, despite the unfortunate circumstances. When my cat Blaze (pics included) got sick very suddenly, they were nice enough to see her immediately. As soon as we got there, they took her back right away, and worked on figuring out what was wrong. Sadly, after doing some tests and taking X-rays, they found out she had an untreatable fatal condition and would need to be put to sleep to prevent her from experiencing anymore pain. As I researched what they'd told me shortly afterward, I found their explanation to be accurate. While it was a sad thing to lose her, everyone was so kind about it. Even though it was kind of late and they were getting ready to close, I was allowed to be alone with her for as long as I wanted beforehand. I also got to hold her during the procedure, which I know made her a lot more comfortable. What really blew me away was when I noticed tears in Dr. Wolfe's eyes when she had to do it. It was the same for Dr. Palchus. They both did everything they could for her. I know that can't be an easy job, but it also really showed that they actually truly do care about their furry little patients a great deal. To all of you who were there that day... Thank you. Excellent excellent excellent you can always tell when people are very comfortable in the field that they practice and when they are very comfortable around animals these folks handled my German Shepherd wonderfully and I am very very happy that I chose them to be his new vet being that I just moved here from Far Far Away lands Shadow is absolutely comfortable with them which means I am too. We've been going to see Dr. Sierra and her wonderful team since they moved into their Apollo Beach Blvd location.  We love her and most importantly trust her with our most precious "DogDaughter" :-) She is professional, knowledgeable and most importantly treats your pet like it was her own.  Her office is extremely clean and her staff on every visit, has made us feel important and offered the best care for our dog.  As with any place, when it comes to your pet, there may be a hefty cost.  Dr. Sierra offers savings solutions and even Pet Insurance to help in those needs. In the past year our Dog got something of a stomach issue and thanks to Dr. Sierra and her staff, they were able to save her and make her healthy again.  Dr. Sierra, always works with you, to find the best possible solution even budget wise to care for your pet.  I love how they have a system of acknowledgement with your very own Dog I.D. and they will even keep your Dog's records and give you (no waiting for the mail) new "county" tags once they've gotten their vaccinations.  They have great communication, and call to remind you about your appointments, even calling after the appointment to see how your dog is.  This is a great business practice that most places just simply don't know to do or haven't the staff and time to do.  They also send follow-ups to see how they as an office are performing for your needs.  I appreciate the reminders (postcards/email/phonecall or whatever communication style suits you) on when your Dog's next check up is and when their next shots are due.  Our Dog is almost 10 and you would not know it.  She is very healthy, happy and loves life thanks to Dr. Sierra and her staff.  I highly recommend Sierra Animal Hospital as your one and only stop in taking care of your most precious pets. We recently moved into the area with a exuberant year old Newfoundland pup. Called for an appt and received one immediately. The office is easy to find and park, the waiting area is large with plenty of room for all size animals and the staff are friendly, courteous and efficient. Dr. Sierra is a lovely person and we left feeling like we are now part of a competent happy family. So lucky to find Sierra Animal Hospital and so is Yankee Doodle. Read Less

I have been able to get an appointment when needed for illnesses. I have been informed of blood & radiology results quickly along with easily understood explanations of the results. HIGHLY recommend!! Dr. Sierra & her staff are amazing!! I brought my Frenchie in on an emergency - but they were open on a Saturday - so no extra charges and they took him right in and he was a new patient. They discussed and explained in detail each procedure that he needed and reviewed the costs prior to performing each. They were very thorough and caring. They treated my Oliver Benjamin as if he were a part of their own family and I felt huge comfort and relief after taking him to be treated at Sierra Animal Hospital. Read Less

I wanted a vet with lots of experience and a gentle nature, so Leslie Sierra and her crew fit our needs perfectly. I moved here 2 years ago. I have two furry friends, Cosmo and Boots. I did some research to take Cosmo, and found Sierra Animal Hospital to have the best reviews. I took Cosmo in for his current shots, and to have him completely checked for anything I should know about. This is my first visit to Sierra, and everyone that I was in contact with upon arrival gave me a wonderful comfort level about bringing Cosmo for the attention he needed. I will continue to bring Cosmo and Boots to Sierra Animal Hospital, and I would give them a 5 star rating. Everyone at Sierra Hospital was very helpful and kind while taking care of my cat Piper. Piper was 17 years old and started having seizures. With the Doctors help at Sierra we decided it was her time to be put to sleep. Everyone was so kind during this difficult process. My cat will no longer be by my side, but forever in my heart. Dr. Sierra and Dr. Q are the best veterinarians in the area. They are cautious and caring. Every pet and family member gets individualized attention. Every procedure is explained thoroughly. The clinic is clean and inviting. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. All 4 of my dogs and both of my cats receive their care at Sierra Animal Hospital regularly. I would not go anywhere else. Offering coupons to multilate cats and dogs (declawing and ear cropping) is absolutely disgusting. This place needs to reevaluate why it is in business, money or to actually be of assistance to innocent animals. As it appears to be the latter I wouldn't trust them with caring for any animal. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but today's experience with Sierra Animal Hospital has left me not only hurt but disgusted that this is the way a business operates. I have two dogs, both boxers named Rocky and Adrienne. My dogs have been an integral part of my family for several reasons which are not the subject; but the point is I would do anything necessary for their well being. My dog Rocky is one whom demands care at the highest level. He has been unfortunate to have very active allergies that have taken a lot of participation from our former veterinarian, Dr. Sierra, and a lot of money from us. In the two years and seven months we have had Rocky, we have spent close to $10,000 on his care between Dr. Sierra and another veterinarian in North Carolina. The point is we have paid in full to Dr. Sierra a great amount of money and have been loyal enough as customers to even refer friends to her practice. We have always paid for the care rendered to Rocky at the time of service until our request to them today that was denied.On December 13, 2012, my wife took Rocky into Dr. Sierra’s practice because of an illness. We were given an initial estimate of $345 for X-Rays and blood work. We were more than willing to pay the $345; however, due to unfortunate timing of everything (my wife is due on December 14th, just opened a new business and remodeling a house) we could only provide half today and promised the other half tomorrow (December 14th). One would assume that after many years of faithful patronage to this business they might realize that the care Rocky was in need of was of more importance than $170, but they would not provide the care to him without full payment.It absolutely disgusts me that a business established with the objective of caring for animals would act this way to an established patient that they have a positive history with. We have never requested to make payments retroactively before, nor have we ever failed to pay what was asked of us. After years of business, for a veterinarian to take our money and then treat us like this over $170 that they were sure to receive just 24 hours later is appalling. It is clear to me today that while Dr. Sierra may have the qualifications to be a veterinarian and may provide great care, her ambition lies more with turning a profit than it does with actually providing care for the members of our family that we care for the way we do.I am a small business owner and I understand there are situations where policy must be in place for my own protection; however, I am also a person and the purpose of my business is to have a meaningful impact on the people who share the community with me. Of course in all business the objective is to make money, but when that becomes the only objective then you remove yourself from the progressive desire communities share.If you love your animals and they are sick, you will do everything you can to make them better. But there are plenty of choices when it comes to veterinarians in the area and I strongly suggest that when you choose who will care for your pet, you select someone that will put their heart into it not someone who disrespects the relationship that you both work to establish. I found a veterinarian that would work with me only a few miles from Sierra Animal Hospital, and I would make the suggestion everyone do the same. Read Less
