I took my Bulldog for an X-ray (leg). Other than the leg, the dog was healthy and happy. Two hours later they called me back telling me the dog was having trouble breathing. My dog nearly passed away while in the care of these people. I took the dog (dying) to the animal hospital where they resuscitated him. These people never called to ask after the dog and, which is more, they refuse to pay the hospital bill. Funny thing is they never did the x-ray or anything else. They just left him unattended, in a cage, while suffocating. These people deserve to have their license taken away. Read Less

My cats have been customers of Cole Animal clinic for close to five years. Overall the facilities are impressive resembling more a human clinic than an animal clinic. The staff are friendly and attentive. The problem is their approach to veterinary medicine. At some point -and I can't tell when-- they transitioned to an assembly-line medical practice. You deal primarily with the staff. The doctor makes a quick appearance, asks a few pointed questions and moves on to the next office. That in itself is not a deal breaker, but considering their prices and their poor follow-up it's not a place I will continue to take my pets to. There a plenty of less expensive places that you can get the same or much better type of care for less. The straw the broke the camel's back occurred with my 17 year old cat with a kidney infection. I took her to the clinic early on a Friday morning and she underwent her exams promptly. However, the urine exam would take longer, so the staff instructed that we take her home and wait for doctor Phillips to call with the results in the afternoon. After not hearing from them for the better part of the day I called in the late afternoon only to be told that doctor Phillips would call me at close of business or worse case on Saturday. No call on Friday evening, so I called on early on Saturday morning only to be told that doctor Phillips was really busy, but that he would call me around noon (before they closed). I called again almost at noon and was told the doctor was still busy but would call me at the end of day. No call received on Saturday either. Finally late on Monday morning I received a call from doctor Phillips informing me that the cat had a very strong urine infection and he prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics. I find it UNACCEPTABLE that it would take all of Friday and the entire weekend for the follow-up. My understanding is that this particular urine test yields results within an hour or two. Look elsewhere for your assembly-line veterinary needs. Read Less

We were absolutely heartbroken the way we were treated by Dr. Cole's office manager today. We've been clients of Dr. Cole personally for many, many years. Today, Elise, the office manager, broke our hearts. Dr. Cole personally took care of our beloved cat Amadeus and was there in his last moments. Today, we're shocked by how capitalist and cold the enterprise has become under Elise. In our hearts, we can no longer recommend Cole Animal Clinic. If you're an elderly person, you can't trust the clinic to not gouge you to the maximum extent possible. We expected a $100 bill and we received a $300 bill. When it was disputed, Elise hung up on us at least 4 times, and only after calling back the 5th time, did she consider reducing the bill. Is this the way that people should be treated, not just long-time clients, but any individual who has a choice of veterinary practices in Boca Raton, but chooses time and again to return to the same practice? We're devastated. Please avoid this clinic. Dr. Cole, we're sorry, but we're extremely shocked at your management, which we imagine is how most people experience your facility now. Read Less

I cannot get over how well my little one is doing after surgery. She was spayed on Monday. She cried/wimpered a little bit on Monday night, but I gave her the pain meds thru Tuesday only...She did not cry a single bit, and neither did she go near to the incision at all. Last night it looked as if she was going to, and I went "uh uh uh...NO NO..." and she looked at me, and just laid down. The next day, I went in to the vet for a second onesie as a Plan B when I have to put the other one in the wash, but she never needed it. The nurse looked at me and said "Did she eat last night?" and made a speculative face, and I said "She ate like a champion. She ate everything in her bowl." She had a little "loosey goosey" stuff going on, but I attribute that to being upset a little and also the anesthesia. After one day and night, she was back "to being her self." The place where her incision is, is beautiful, clean and neat. I am sure that after it heals, it will hardly be noticeable. What I am truly in awe over is Trudie's attitude after the surgery, in that she was back to being her Trudie playful self the next day, acting like her Royal Highness. LOL. No Drama involved...just good care and properly applied science which is second to none. Thank you to Cole Animal Clinic for the fantastic job once again, taking care of my princess so regally. Awesome job. I selected the right place to go to with my girl....I have such a secure feeling that no matter what the situation was, that they would do everything they could to make my dog well again, I have every confidence in that.Read Less

I have been going here since 1997 or 1998. I always feel like they love my animals. Sometimes it is difficult to come up with a diagnosis, because animals can not tell you what's wrong. So I do not ever blame the vet for sometimes having to take several visits to find out exactly what's wrong. The problem will usually become obvious over time. I have a little dog now, who sometimes comes up with a mystery illness; he acts peculiar, and I know he is ill. He had flu like symptoms for a few months, and then recently developed a tooth infection. After the tooth was pulled his flu like symptoms disappeared. Another time he walked with a limp for a week. He had nothing wrong with his limbs, but he was working on a abscess in his bottom. The vets worked will me in both instances until they figured out what was wrong. I think it is important to question treatment and medication, and ask about side effects when you have a tiny dog. My teacup dog has many more issues than my collie. My collie can take any drug, but I have to be careful with my little dog. Overall I feel like my animals receive very good care here, and they are treated with great care and concern. Read Less

My review is a few months late. In May of 2015 my cat was acting different (howling and not using the liter box) and I brought her in to Cole Animal Clinic. The doctor met with me and suggested I keep her there while I went to work so they could run tests. He called a few hours later and said her test results showed kidney disease and that I should consider putting her to sleep. I was obviously devastated but he said let's give her fluids and keep her overnight and recheck results the next day. I was so hopeful for my kitty and couldn't sleep a wink. I was hoping to hear from him sometime in the morning but not until late afternoon (ok busy I get it, I was just anxious). When he called he said let's keep her 1 more day and things looked pretty much the same. Next day, I didn't hear from him until 3ish and he said to come in to discuss. I asked to see her in the room and they brought her wrapped in a towel and she looked DISTRAUGHT. She was shaking and something didn't feel right. The vet comes in and says he thinks she's fine, I can take her home today, administer fluids at home and bring her back in a few days. What?!?! He told me I needed to put her to sleep a few days prior. I was completely confused. When I tried to get her in her car carrier as well, she was LIMPING- not something she came in with!!! When I asked him, he made up something about muscle mass. (I truly think she was mishandled). Here's the kicker, when I went to pay ( completly RIPPED off and overcharged...reasons following) the office manager had the nerve to say I was getting a discount. At that point I didn't even care what the vet said because I knew I would be bringing her somewhere else. I brought her home that night and she wouldn't move from the towel she laid on, peed all over herself and was still limping whenever she did move a few feet to eat. I brought her somewhere else immediately the next morning to basically have the tests repeated. What a difference!!! The vet called me with constant updates. When I called Cole to have my records faxed over they were so difficult (some nonsense about not having them available yet). My cat stayed again two nights and a treatment plan was laid out in detail for me. Cats with kidney disease is NOT a death sentence (it is something that requires medication and fluid therapy at home but absolutely manageable.) I was able to visit my cat during her stay of receiving fluids overnight and she seemed SO much calmer. I had a way better experience at new vet and basically had to pay everything all over again (which was still significantly cheaper then Cole even with the "discount"). I truley believe she didn't even receive overnight treatment at Cole but that is my opinion on the experience I went through. This vet may be good for dogs, but certainly not for cats with kidney disease (he didn't even discuss the treatment going forward). Fast forward to October 2015 as I write this review, my cat is still alive and happy. Read Less

However now COLES wants me to pay for a bag of food they special ordered for "ME" even thought the product doesn't work for my animal. I researched the company and they VERY CLEARLY have a satisfaction guaranteed policy and will reimburse you for product even if it is used. FUNNY that the vet won't bother to offer the same service.

Read Less

My service dog, Buddicelli, has been a patient of Dr. Cole and Dr. Phillips for 5 years now. This is a fantastic facility: up-to-date technology, so clean you can practically eat off the floors. They are fully staffed, have their own surgical suites and can usually give you a same-day appointment. The only times I have not been able to get a same-day appointment is when I called an hour before they closed. If you have a dire emergency, and they cannot accommodate you by closing, then they will refer you to the Animal Hospital.

Read Less

NOT RIGHT! I purchased several bags of special order cat food at the VETS recommendation. It didn't work. NO ONES Fault. I'm out of there and on to another office. I can say I love the vet I saw there. Just not a fan of the above policy. Read Less
