We have been bringing our minpin to dr steve for going on 4 yrs ... Really like he and his asst ... Wish I could say the same re his front desk staff ... I was rudely greeted by Debbie yesterday ... Told she would be with me soon as she was extremely busy ... One other lady was seated in the waiting room ... Debby was clearly irritated by the fact she couldn't get her printer to run ... After waiting a few minutes an older womsn came out of the back ... Debby yelled at her to help me ... Gave her our girl's name and waited for her to retrieve meds ...When I questioned her on the price not being what was quoted she became argumentative ...As it turned out she was trying to sell me someone else's meds ... Total screw up ...If I hadn't questioned her and listened to her badically call me a liar I'd have left with the incorrect meds ... I asked for Dr Steve to call me ... He hasn't ... He lost a customer yesterday ... We live in Broward Co and were willing to spend the time and gas to drive to Boca ... These unpleasant women both need lessons in customer service ... And to lose the tacky Boca attitude ... Read Less

Great vet very informative and nice receptionist and caring doctor and staff. My cat was infested with fleas and he took the time to talk about prevention and how to treat her. I also used their grooming services and it was great. You can tell they love animals there. Read Less

Dr Steve has been my vet since 1985 when I moved here. He’s the best. Yesterday my cockatiel got sick and he treated him. He also takes care of one of my behavior cats. Love how knowledgeable he is to take on difficult cases. Read Less

They charged my wife 44.70 for Cerenia Tab. 24 mg x4 to finde out after its only $ 12.99 to $ 16.00(PetShop), they refused to go down on the price, how can you triple prescription drugs on you’re clients.? They are shameless can’t trust this place with my puppies health..... Read Less

11/08/2017OverallGreat Veterinary facility. Dr Watnick has been taking care of my parrot now for over 32 years. My parrot is now 65 years old and has developed arthritic issues. Dr. Watnick has started my bird on a mild non steroidal anti-inflammatory and researched for me a homeopathic supplement to place in her water. She is so much better now, moving around more comfortably. Thank heaven for Sandalfoot Animal Clinic and Bird Hospital. Love my bird immensely and will do whatever Dr. Watnick recommends. Read Less

Been going to Dr Watnik since the 90's. Shar- peis, English Bulldog and a Yorkie. Possibly the best vet in all of Broward. Knowledgable, caring, friendly and takes the time with you. Not overly expensive either and pet care is never cheap. The whole staff is great. I wouldn't recommend any other vet. Even if Dr. Watnik is not there you won't miss a beat with the other Doctor. I highly recommend this vet office. I have been with them since 2012. My  Staffordshire was allergic to chicken, buying him food was a nightmare. This vet took a few skin samples (very inexpensive) and gave him some meds and shampoo. It's been 3+ years and my boy eats chicken on a regular basis, no more tearing himself bloody. I got a 2nd dog and  got her spayed at this office. They did such an amazing job that her scar can not be found, she was happy and playful just a couple of hours after the procedure. Front desk is run by a couple of snarky old hags that gossip nonstop and are nosy as hell.  I had my dog groomed there twice. The first time he came home with one of his nails hanging by a small piece of skin! They had somehow ripped it out!?!?  2nd time he developed a skin infection from a little razor nick.  Tools aren't clean apparently. Read Less

So happy I tried this vet recently for our cat, who is absolutely one of our children. I tried two other vets in the area that I was not pleased with for various significant reasons (see my other reviews) and decided to try Sandalfoot. So glad I did. The doctors here are experienced, intelligent, caring, and personable. My cat saw Dr Landau, who is just fantastic, but I also had a good communication with Dr. Watnick.  They get back to you promptly and provide detailed clear explainations. Plus, they actually LISTEN and recall the health history you provide. I showed Dr. Landau prior blood test results from our old vet, but neglected to provide him with a copy.  When he called with the new blood test results 4 days later (because the sample was taken before a holiday weekend), he actually remembered the prior readings for comparison. Also, the office is clean and the staff is friendly. They were all concerned and proactive when our cat was temporarily sick after a vaccine shot. So far, so good. After trying two other vets and having serious problems with each, this office dealt with issues rationally, created no new issues, and explained information clearly and precisely. This is like an old country doctor approach to vet care. I've been here many times over the years and the staff and doctor have always been understanding and compassionate. They never tell me they have to run expensive tests to diagnose my pets. Most vet clinics make me feel like they want to rack up a huge bill, never have I had that experience here. After moving from CT., we needed a new vet.  We took our two dogs here and wow....we were really impressed.  First off, the staff is friendly and caring (they even get to bring their dogs to work).  This was the first vet's office we've been to in Boca Raton, that didn't try and sell us on every single little thing.  Our dogs only needed Heartguard, since they were up to date on their vaccinations.  Dr. Watnik drew blood to make certain they didn't have heartworm, then gave us the Heartguard.  No charge for an office visit, and our bill for both dogs for a little over $200 (including two packs of Heartguard and the blood tests).  The last vet we went to in Boca charged us $250 just for our third dog, to get her Heartguard Medication (office visit, bloodwork, medication, poop screening).  Our dogs need their teeth cleaned, but Dr. Watnik said it could be done in the next 6 months.  No pressure to book an appt. to get it done right away.   I came away with the feeling that they really care about the animals, and it isn't all about the money with Sandalfoot Animal Clinic.   Dr. Watnik and his staff seem really professional and  compassionate.  We will definitely use them as our number 1 vet.They also do rescue work with the Humane Society. My beautiful senior Persian cat had a serious infection that we were not aware of until it was almost too late. Drs. Landau and Watnik saved his life and a week later he is just about back to his old self.  The doctors and staff are the best ever.  The care, compassion, professionalism make them the only place to take your pet.  I've always had multiple pets so I know that this place is really as good as it gets. My family said I was crazy to bring my parakeet to the Vet. I love this little bird and I hate to say it, but it is more affectionate and intelligent than many people I know!!. I had to try and help it. Dr. Watnick found a very large tumor in its abdomen. I thought it would be most humane to put it to sleep. Dr. Watnick discussed with me all the options and convinced me to try a treatment that he has seen work through his years of experience. I followed his advise and am I glad I did. In one month the tumor had decreased in size by almost 50% and my bird is chirping and active and pretty much back to himself. The treament was inexpensive, although my bird will need to be on medicine for the rest of his life. I think Dr. Watnick was happier than I was and he truly showed me his compassion and caring as if my bird was his own. I have two cats and one dog and Sandalfoot Animal Clinic will be their new Vets. I had brought my dog to two different Animal Hospitals seeking to help my dog with a terrible skin disease. I spent hundred's of dollars on tests and medications only to find my dog no better off than before I saw those vets. I decided to go see Dr. Watnick for a 3rd opinion for he received rave reviews from my neighbors. Dr. Watnick walked into the exam room and with a snap of a finger, told me he knew what was wrong with my pet. He did one particular test to confirm his tentative diagnosis, and boy he was right on target. He treated my dog who is now the picture of health. I have no cons so far. I had 2 parakeets that Dr. Watnick took care of. They both had their own issues when they got sick. The DR was so nice and helpful in helping us make decisions about what was best and when the time came and the birds each passed on, he was so sweet consoling us and getting us through that difficult time. Pricing for me was ok. I mean i dont know how they are with dogs or cats which is why i took off one star. For my unfamiliarity with the dogs and cats. I have a dog that I may be switching to their office but I do need to check the price comparison first because it is a bit of a drive for me. But I did have bad experiences at other vets so in comparing them, I definitely say come to sandalfoot. Read Less

I worked as a Vet tech for many years, so not only do  I tend to be very picky about my pets' caregivers, but I am also very in tune with the "behind the scenes" goings ons at veterinary hospitals in general. One morning, when I could not get  a hold of any of my vet contacts, this place was highly recommended to me, and rightfully so. The veterinarian and staff were superb, very knowledgeable, caring, prompt and did not try and do any expensive unnecessary test on my dog. I was very impressed with them. Even the front desk staff was great, very caring, friendly and informative. INFORMATIVE!  In most animal hospitals, the desk  is usually run by less than knowlegeable, highschool cheerleader types. The head technician was also very experienced and wonderful.I never revealed I was in the veterinary field, I felt as though I was an undercover health inspector of sorts disguised as a regular customer.  The place was very clean and the prices were surprisingly un-Boca Raton! I felt very much  a part of my pets diagnosis and treatment. They explained everything to me in lay terms (albeit unnecessarily) and followed up with me on the phone the next day.  I found my new Vet! :) Read Less
