The staff was very rough with my very sick cat, said she was ready to go home after one night, I left her there for two (my call) also rough with her leaving, I expresses her meows were not normal and she still sounded in pain, brought her home and she still has all the same problems, can't walk, dragging back legs, surprised she made it through the night...looking elsewhere. The absolute best around. Compassion like no other. Entire staff is amazing and so caring. We took our 9 year old Golden for an emergency surgery. Surgery went fine ,but we lost her due to septis. Bad infection and her heart couldn't take it. We were kept informed as the day went along. Every detail. Then He called and told my wife the bad news. He wept with my wife. So caring and when I went in to pay the bill was a small portion of what it was supposed be. We now are in the stages of losing another [cancer] and they have been so compassionate. All of my "fur babies" have been rescued dogs and Dr. Gregory and staff have been there through all the ups and downs with their care. They love all animals and "LOVED" my kids which means the world to me. He had been treated for heartworm, many cancer surgeries and finally a number of wellness visits and Ryder enjoyed going to see everyone here. Yesterday we had to make the hard decision to finally let go and let Ryder rest eternally. The compassionate care from everyone there especially Dr. Gregory in giving us a quiet and peaceful place to say goodbye on our timetable was priceless. I can't say thank you enough and that although there are many vet offices available to me in Fort Myers, I have continued to make the drive to Bonita Springs year after year. From our first discussion to post surgery, this has been an incredible experience for my family and our 10 year old cat. We originally took Rascal to a local vet for a large mass and were not comfortable with the current situation. We decided to seek a second opinion and made the hour and 40 min drive from Ft. Lauderdale to see Dr. Gregory as he came highly recommended from a close friend on the West Coast. His kindness and confidence immediately put us at ease and we knew we made the right decision. We drove back a week later for surgery and had to leave him overnight (something we've never done). The staff called multiple times with updates and took great care of our boy. Brought him home last night and he has been absolutely perfect!! ~i've known Scott for more than 16 years when he came to the rescue of a very special raccoon whom had come to me with diabetes; from being on a very crappy diet. Unfortunately, we lost Gizmo after she lapsed into a diabetic coma, but Scott was there-trying his best-at 3 am. Fast forward 16 years when I needed to bring our 7 year old raccoon in this past Sat. Gremlee had been off her food & since I'm all too familiar with how things like this can go; felt that Scott needed to care for our precious child. After a shot of an ER antibiotic, she was going to come home for a period of observation. However, our special & last apt.of the day became the last we had with her. We are just seasonal folks . . . here annually for four months. Our sweet cat, Tanya, began yelping in pain this past weekend. It was a big decision for us traumatize her with a new vet, but we felt that we had no choice. No matter who we asked, the recommendation was always "Dr Gregory". Now, we understand exactly why. He was amazing with her, and, . . . with us. I have left his office wishing that we could take him back to Michigan with us! We are seasonal visitors here in SWFL and discovered that our cat was having severe, internal pain. We checked with "locals" and other RV folks . . . all recommended only "Dr Gregory". Dr Gregory and his staff are awesome. They really care and do a great job. My dog has aggression and Dr Gregory works with him and treats him and he makes our Leroy feel comfortable. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because there is no emergency care and because he's such a great vet, he's so fully booked that if you have an emergency, you have to go down the road to the ridiculously expensive emergency vet. prices are fair, service is great. very much recommend.Read Less

First time visit not very good. Let me start with the office is very cute and welcoming and the Doctor was great! His Staff? Not so much. First off it took forever and it did not seem to be a busy day and no emergencies seemed to be happening at that time. The nurses and other staff were extremely rude and seemed to be lost and not know what's going on. ( so naturally I asked if this was a new practice and new staff?) I was appalled with the response I received.... And than I realized they are lost because most were eirher involved in casual conversations with each other or better yet more focused on cell phones! Not one of the employees that day seemed to show any compassion any knowledge or any care for my pet. If I showed my patients the same treatment my dog received from this staff I wouldn't have any!! Our Corky dog (yellow lab mix) was almost 15 years old he back legs were failing him . His legs kept collapsing and he had a bad fall down the stairs . He was bad off. I had an emergency with my cat, who was a patient of this practice. I called and left a vm that evening and then called again next morning to get him in when no one returned my call. I was told that there was no time available, even for an emergency. I asked office to prepare my records so I could go to another vet. They mailed them to me and I just read them. The staff said that I called and said my cat's ear and head "hurt". That I yelled and screamed. I am aghast. This is a complete lie - my cat came close to having to be put down, but of course I got him in at another vet who fortunatly was more compassionate. I don't know if the doctor ever heard anything about this, but as good as he is his staff leaves something to be desired. They CYA's on my records. My experience is disturbing and I would strongly suggest that you verifiy that in the event of an emergency, this clinic will see your pet. I have gone now to the White Sands Clinic and they are awesome.Read Less

I would 100% recommend Dr. Gregory at the Old 41 Animal Hospital.  The hours are very convenient (even Saturday and Sunday hours) and the staff are always able to accommodate my appointment requests.  There is a minimal wait time upon arriving (less than 5 minutes).  I love that Dr. Gregory spends a lot of time with you and your dog and actually performs all aspects of care with the assistance of his technicians (versus some animal hospitals that have the techs do everything and you spend less than a minute with the doctor).  Dr. Gregory is extremely knowledgeable and does take the time to educate you regarding your pet's care.  What really stands out about this vet is the communication.  He gives you his email address and tells you to email him if you ever have any concerns/questions.  He always answers my emails within hours (sometimes minutes) of sending them and always tries to help me and guide me via email (when it is a minor situation such as allergies).  If I call during regular business hours and I feel the situation is serious, I am able to talk to the doctor directly on the phone (again, some animal hospitals will say that they will talk to the doctor and call you back but you never actually speak to the doctor or will always just tell you that you need to come in).  I work in the healthcare industry and only want the best for my pet and this is the vet that I choose to bring my dog to!  I actually made the switch to Dr. Gregory from another well known animal hospital in the area and would never go back.  Thank you Dr. Gregory and the staff at The Old 41 Animal Hospital. The best vet I have ever had! I'm new to south Florida and my two Labradors are my babies. I've taken my girls to Dr. Gregory on numerous occasions since I moved to the area: for vaccinations that were due, ear aches, a fatty tumor surgery for Ms. Dixie that Dr. Gregory removed and a hurt foot for Ms. Liberty. Yes, owning two dogs and giving them the best of care can be very expensive. But, Dr. Gregory treated both my girls with a lot of love and his prices are so affordable for 1st class service.
