We just took our cat in to see Dr Armstrong yesterday and have been taking our pets there for over 14 years. He has always been thorough and caring. The staff was great and went out of their way to be helpful. I read some reviews from 2 years ago about rude staff and I did experience that myself a few years back but chose to ignore it because Dr Armstrong is the reason we go there. I took my cat here back in April of this year since she was constantly throwing up. the vet techs were just stone faced, did not look happy to be there. Dr. Armstrong came in and suggested to get blood work done and i said ok. the Dr. came back in the room to give me back my cat but kept walking out the door as i was trying to ask questions. the receptionist was on her phone when i was trying to pay and leave and she told me to hold on. She and dr. armstrong said they'll call me when they get the blood results back. fast forward to August, I brought my cat to a different vet and they called over to Dr. Armstrongs practice and requested the results. i was told my cat was in severe liver failure since april (and probably before that) and that somebody obviously looked at the paperwork considering there were pen markings around her results. I was furious! I of course should've called to get the results when i didn't hear back from them but i just assumed since they didn't called that everything was alright with my cat. i'm so upset that this vets office doesn't call you with results that are life threatening and how the staff treats the clients. thankfully i took her to a different vet that cared for her like she was their own. shes only 2 years old so it was extremely odd that she was in liver failure. 4 different medications later to find out exactly what was wrong and shes completely healthy! i will never take any of my animals to dr armstrong ever again! Dr. Armstrong is a wonderful doctor but his staff are uncaring disrespectful and downright don't belong there they could care less about your animals too bad dr. Armstrong doesn't sit out in the waiting room and watch I wouldn't take any animal there if you're looking for compassion. The worst clinic in town beware. Read Less

I'd give a lesser score if I could. Eight months ago I took my dog to this butcher for help. Big mistake. His mouth was sore and had a hard time eating. The vet said he had bad teeth and pulled 4 of them. My dog was never able to get rid of his infection. The so called vet said it was an allergy and kept giving him shot after shot cashing in and my dogs misfortune. Even his relief Dr felt his diagnosis was wrong. Finally I took my dog my pal to a different Vet. Come to find out my pet had stage 4 oral cancer. Eating the flesh off his jaw bone. He has 3 inches of exposed bone of his jaw. Was told nothing could be done now but something could have been done months ago. Save your pets and your money and never bring your beloved pets to best vet of Boynton Beach. Read Less

Worst doctor, worst recieptionaist , unprofessional , they don't communicate with each other at all.they gave my puppy another vaccine instead of the rabies. The doctor walked in, gave my puppy a shot and put something in her mouth and walked out. He gave her shots I did not ask for and did not explain how the de wormer ( the original concern) should work or what to expect. I called back in noticing they put a free exam on the check out form and did nothing to my puppy, when I called in to ask why the doctor did not even give an exam, the excuse was the primary doctor was out. The girl on the phone gave me a hard time when trying to make sure I can come back to the primary doctor for a free physical like promised the first time and told her I would not give any more business to this place. I asked for a manager and they just said to come in. I am big on customer service, I spent alot of money that day on top of what I came in for and to be treated as if my issues did not matter, is a big turn off and will make sure everyone knows of their horrible service. I've been going to Dr.Armstrong for over a year now with all of my animals and he has been nothing but good to me. He never pressures us to buy any of his services, yet everything is very reasonably priced. He is a very compassionate vet who truly cares about each patient and I recommend him to everyone. I have had my pitbull redd there since i got him as a puppy. Dr. Armstrong is awesome and amazing on how much he cares about the animals. Even had my mom start going there with her new puppy. Couldnt ask for a better Dr. Doesnt try to weedle in any other charges or expenses and is very honest. Doesnt force you to get anything u dont want for your animal. Love this Dr. He was caring and saved my dogs life. He didn't charge me for the second visit, I was concerned about the weight of my dog and he put me at ease. Do not take your pet to this Vet on Tuesdays. Dr. Armstrong is not there on Tuesdays and the fill in Vet is really not good at all. I was recommended but it was for Dr. Armstrong, I won't take a chance on go back. It felt like they were there to make money and not compassionate toward my pet My rating is no stars. Read Less

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I took my dog there because she was losing some of her fur, and three times we went in Dr. Armstrong gave her an allergy shot and told us to go home. He claimed he did a skin scraping, or so we payed for, he said it was just allergies. Now I know my dog isn't supposed to be getting pimples and losing fur, so I decided to take her to another vet. The second I walked in, the new vet knew what was wrong. She did a real skin scraping and my dog had MANGE. My dog could have died. I called best vet to get medical records, and the front desk girl was extremely rude and annoyed that we were even asking. I would never recommend this place if you love your pets. Please go to another vet. I have never met Dr. Armstrong as he was away when I had brought my cat in. Now, the fIll in vet as well as some of the staff made me wish I listened to the reviews as I waited for my cats turn. A man who apparently was working there called us in finally, i was confused because of his black tee and bleach stained black cargo shorts. Unprofessionally dressed. When I got inside the exam room, I quickly took soap and water and wiped down the exam table because of pet hair and drool of some sort. While waiting in there, the paper thin walls were allowing me to have to listen to another employee in the back swearing and ranting about their ex or current partner. Then the vet came in, now I know I'm not as qualified as he is however I do have a pretty good understanding of certain medicines and treatments for cats as well as what types of food they should be eating. I was very polite in trying to explain what I know and what's going on so that I do not get charged for extra blood work or this or that. His responses were very condescending and I did not appreciate it at all. I won't get into the rest it's a long and boring story. Just please read up on the reviews for hills prescription food that he wanted my cat on for life. I wish I had done that before and my cat has been vomiting, having the runs, and shedding excessively since. It's expensive but the VET swears by it. Used to like going here before they moved to their new location by the Walmart shopping plaza. Now the front girl staffs are rude and very unprofessional. Sure they are young but no need to be rude. One of the girls is very knowledgeable but she's very sassy too. Dr. Armstrong used to be very patience and took the time to exam the dogs, but that too changed. Everytime I call, I end up waiting 10-15mins on hold before anyone on the line can help me, and I don't mean being phone tossed around 2 or 3 times by the different girls either. One time I remember waiting 30 mins on hold before anyone picked up. Another time also on the phone, I was trying to make an appointment for my dogs to get their shots, and the chick asked me 3 times for my last name and I spelled it out all 3 times. That was because she was trying to place a food order to one of the other girls, while on the line with me...... Unbelievable. She was definitely not trying to hide it either bc I heard the conversation...."I want also,....and Ill pay for it. How much is it?". Also when I make the appointment and show up about 10 mins early, I still end up waiting about 30mins to an hour after my appointment time before they place me in a room. And the rooms are for cats and dogs, so if anyone is highly allergic to cats (like my husband) have them clean it up, bc they don't unless you tell them and they won't ask. Once in the room it's another waiting game, and this time is varies. Sometimes I waited awhile (~30mins) other time about 5-10min. Hint: weight your dog once you get in the office and bring something to do. I only go for the shots because it is cheaper. and Dr. Armstrong is lacking. When he comes in the room, he is in and out in less than 10 mins. He used to physically exam the whole dog if I came in for a skin problem. Now he just looks at the one spot you point to. Dr. Armstrong is a solid vet. We've taken our pets there since 2008 - and I've only received quality care. When I look for a vet I want a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated person who will care for my pets. I never walk out of the office questioning the visit or feeling like I didn't get the right answer. He helped our cats severe UTI issues when she was peeing blood all over the house. I had taken my dogs to several vets closer to home in an effort to find a workable regimen to relieve them of chewing their paws. They have no fleas or ticks, are bathed regularly and are indoor dogs. After being given all unsuccessful remedies and having them suffering with an obvious irritant to their paws, no relief. I was referred to Dr. Armstrong and decided to drive the 35 miles to try one last possible solution. Sure enough, without unnecessary tests, he said they had an allergy.
