This was a TERRIBLE place. I took my sweet "feral" cat there to get groomed & checked out. I had been feeding her, along w several others for 9 years, ever since my neighbor /feeder moved away.She was a sweet kitty, but was very dirty, I think she didn't have a mother long enough. Anyway, the receptionist had me weigh my cat IN HER CRATE, said they'd weigh crate later.That's the last time I saw "Pretty". Vet call said her heart stopped & she was doing CPR said she couldn't bring her back. She also said she had to give extra does of anesthesia bec cat was so "wild".  SHE CHARGED ME $470.35. $161.69 of that was my choice for cremation. I'D GIVE THIS PLACE A MINUS 10 STARS IF I KNEW HOW. Bad news! Sadly the owners daughter is a mean uncaring veterinarian who is disrespectful to people who've been taking my pets there for years. She makes her own hours and if you have an emergency like I did at 5pm on a Friday she'll tell you to go to the Emergency Hospital. I arrived at 5:25 and she refused to see me telling me I'm late with my sick puppy throwing up with blood in her stool. She said she couldn't see me she has an appointment at 6:30. So happy with Ranch Animal Hostpial! New to the area and have been a client for 8 months now.initial experience was with Dr. Greene for acupuncture treatment. One of our dachshunds suffered a back injury and after an emergency room visit and meds was showing no improvement. We reached out to RAH and were seen immediately by Dr. Greene, who recommended the acupuncture approach. Admittedly skeptical, we moved ahead with the plan. I was shocked at the remarkable improvement by that evening after just one treatment. It was like a totally new dog. We were so concerned about surgery and recovery and costs, but this worked! We ended upcoming 8 treatments over the course of a few months and consider it a resounding success. Dr. Greene was our miracle worker. We've been back numerous times with both dogs for both routine and I expected visits, and are always treated well. Dr. Ocean just saw us on an urgent issue and is kind, compassionate and caring. This Clinic is only interested in making money and doesn't truly care about animals. I went to them because I needed medication for my dog that has epilepsy. I am from out of town and my car broke down stranding me for longer than my planned trip. I had my vet call them to verify the medication and they refused unless they gave the dog a full examination. My vet even informed them that my dog had just had his exam 2 weeks prior. Read Less

Let me be clear, this review is for the groomer and the receptionist, not the vet or vet techs. Do Not use this groomer.   Handed my Goldendoodle puppy over this morning for his 2nd haircut.  As I gave Oliver to the receptionist, I tried to tell her what kind of hair cut I wanted.  She assured me the groomer will know what to do.   She Did Not.  You are Not supposed to shave Goldendoodles.  Their fur protects them from the sun and heat.  If it was just aesthetics, I would not be as upset.  Hair grows.  But it is for health reasons you do not shave this breed. Word cannot express how magnificent Ranch Animal Hospital and specifically Dr. Ocean is.   My furbaby Lego became extremely ill in late November and his initial vet couldn't figure out what was wrong.  After months of him being sick we decided to take him to another vet and with luck ok our side we found Dr.  Ocean.  Her level of knowledge, compassion and true passion for hr veterinarian profession are unsurmountable.  She was the only one to figure out what was wrong with him almost immediately after seeing him.   Although he had what would turn into a terminal illness she gave him the best last few months I could of asked for.   I am forever thankful to her for always being available when we needed her.  If you are looking for a vet in Lakewood ranch you will be amazed with Dr. Ocean's level of care.   Her and her staff will overload you with wonderful care for you pet. I have been coming to this facility for a little over 4 years now. Every time I come to Ranch Animal Hospital I am greeting with kindness and professionalism. They know my dog by name and he loves it there! They always take time to speak with me on the phone and make me feel comfortable with any question I have. I have NEVER had a dog that WANTED to go to the vet so badly!!!! I have been to a few neighboring vets and I would highly recommend this facility to everyone. Price is competitive with other vets. Horrible. Dr. Green charged me $500 to put a drain in my cat's cheek and told me he had a tooth abscess. I took him for a second opinion to another vet and he was immediately diagnosed with cancer. (That proper diagnosis with biopsy was $250)Dr. Green and Dr. Cohen (owner of Lakewood Ranch Animal Hospital and 2 other facilities) refused to refund my money. In addition, they were all rude from the start and unnecessarily rough with my Bentley. Please do not take your precious babies to any of Dr. Cohen's clinics. They upsell, overcharge, and are not capable of diagnosing or treating if anything is seriously wrong. Read Less

Great experience here. Only waited for about 2 min before my dog's appointment and was escorted into a clean examine room. The tech took my dog to another location to give him his shots and the vet came in afterwards to explain everything.  Dr. Green was super nice and answered all my questions.  Do glad she is our new vet. I have taken my two dogs there for a few years now for all services: vet, grooming, and boarding. I have been extremely happy. Sharon does a wonderful job grooming them. My dogs are older and are very anxious and nervous, but the boarding staff is very patient with them. We used this facility for boarding our dog.  We chose it for the location and also the fact that it's billed as having someone there 24/7 to take care of the animals.  When I spoke to the person that answered the phone, they reaffirmed that someone was there 24/7 and that the dogs were let out 5-6 times a day.We dropped him off on a Friday and picked him up Sunday after 2:00.  When I arrived to pick him up every staff member there was sitting on the floor in the reception area petting a dog that someone had brought in as a stray.  No big deal, someone got right up and went and got my dog.  Well, he couldn't get outside fast enough to so he could pee.  He couldn't even make it over to the grassy area, he went on the driveway.  I thought it was strange but didn't think anything of it at the time.That week, he peed inside our house 3 times.  We rescued this dog 13 years ago and he has NEVER peed in the house - not even when he was brand new to us.  He had some other behaviors that week that made me then take him to our regular vet to have him checked out.  The vet diagnosed him with a urinary tract infection.  Since he had never had one, I asked what could have caused it.  They said it's typically caused by the dog having to "hold it" and not being taken out.So now I am thinking back to when I picked him up and his urgent need to go out.  While I can't say with certainty that the facility's lack of care for my dog caused him to have a UTI, it's what I believe happened to him.I will not use this facility again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. Front desk staff was very friendly, as was the vet tech.  Dr. S was great, very friendly and made sure all of my questions/concerns were answered.  Price was very reasonable, way less expensive than I am used to paying in Northern Virginia.  Will definitely return.  They also offer cat and dog boarding.  Boarding rooms are clean and offer enough space for the animals. This is the best vetenarian services that I have ever used. I also board my animals there when I go away. Dr Ojolick is professional, knowledable and beyond compassionate. She also does great work with laser therapy for animals with bad joints. We recently had to let our dog go due to old age and the entire staff was so wonderful and compassionate, making an unbearable situation as easy as it could be. They even sent us flowers after the fact. Recently we dog had an accident in the car on the way to our appointment and while we were in the examing room the staff offered to clean the inside of my car for me....unbelievably nice. The entire staff are so friendly, kind and helpful. I realize that I am over the top protective of where I would leave my animals and this place exceeds my highest expectation. This hospital is beautiful! We brought our dog in on a Sunday when she had injured her leg. Although we didn't have an appointment they fit us in. The entire staff seemed very knowledgeable, they were polite, and they all seemed to really care about my dog. The Dr was so kind and patient with Bella. staff first of all is incompetent. The staff is not very friendly, nor welcoming. My dog had to stay over night, because he was very sick. On the day of discharge my dog once home was the same as the day i brought him to their office. I was truly disappointed that there was not one doctor there to answer my questions, and no number to call in such an emergency. I never ever received a call from their office to check on the condition of my dog. We were upset to find a catither tube come out of our dog when he moved his bowels. Our dog was treated as a number on a chart. The veterinarian did not have time to answer questions, and rushed me, no consideration. Does not care about complaints, i complained and the owner did not give me a call back. I am truly hurt with the whole experience, after i paid $700.00. I had to take my dog elsewhere because they (Lakewood ranch) did not do anything to help him.Read Less
