I use to take my dogs to another vet, but that vet retired and sold out. The people who bought the place build a new building. Very nice I might add. But there prices went up a lot . I took Tucker to Dr Nancy cause she saw him last year for summer time allergies. My old vet knows of this but still charged us 130.00 for some pills and office visit. Dr Nancy saw him, gave him a shot and some ointment cost 84.00, the day after he is already showing sines of improvement. Dr Nancy also told me if I had to bring tucker back for the same thing with in the yr I wouldn't be charged and office visit. That hooked me !!! Called my old vet and had them fax my dogs ( all 4 ) info to her office. Thanks for taking on my babies, as they mean alot to us. Read Less

I decided to try Kindness Animal Clinic because my other vet was costing me an arm and a leg. I went in to treat my cat, who was over-grooming himself to the point that he was giving himself bald spots (most likely allergy related). When I got in the room, the vet tech was so unconfident about what she was doing, I think she was new. When Dr. Nancy came in to see my cat she probably stayed in the room for a total of 1 minute before "diagnosing" the problem and leaving to go back in her office. This was completely unacceptable in my opinion because I had so many questions regarding my fur baby AND the clinic was not busy AT ALL. I did not feel listened to whatsoever.  When I went to pay my bill, I asked the vet tech and the lady working the counter how to administer his medicine and they had NO idea. The vets office was right next to the counter so the vet tech went to ask her and still came back with no answer. "The directions are on the back" was the final answer I received. I reached out to my friend who is a vet tech and works at another animal hospital and she told me that the steroid shot they gave my cat was literally pointless.  Overall, I would NOT recommend Kindness Animal Clinic to anyone. While I was trying to save some money, it was not worth it AND they did not even fix the problem with my cat. Read Less

The back room where they put the dog has fences and urine water in a big tub with food and dust all over the place. Lots of clutter and staff made fun of me for my name. If I could leave no stars I would.... This was the 5th vet I have brought my pet to in a month and they have been by far the worst. After spending hundreds of dollars on my first visit to their office, I practically had to stalk them to get my pets test results back. I had called and left numerous messages to have them call me back and I never receive a response. It has been a week of calling with no response, or excuses as to why they cannot give me the results. Whatever you do, do not take your pet to this office! One would think that after showing concerns for my pets health and spending quite a bit of money, they would have some incentive to have customer service. Highly regret bringing my pet there. #1 PLACE TO TAKE A PET! They actually care! I love animals & I've devoted my life to helping all of them that need help! I rescue a lot of animals & I house a lot of animals & I've been to a lot of clinics. Most of them care more about getting your money up front before they treat your pet! Even if your pet was needing emergency attention & time is of the essence, many other places (that I would like to mention) have made me wait until they could get a estimated bill for treatment, and also pay upfront before they would begin treatment! Even if your pet is dieing on their floor! THAT'S WHY I'VE QUIT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! I'M TELLING YOU FROM FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE! THE KINDNESS ANIMAL CLINIC IS NOT LIKE THIS! THEY CARE & EVEN HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO SEE IF YOUR PET NEEDS HELP NOW, THEY GIVE YOUR PET ATTENTION AND WORRY ABOUT PAYMENT AFTER THEY GET YOUR PET STABLE! I've found that the staff & doctors & EVEN THE owner really do care more about your pet than money & also more than any other vet/clinic that I've ever visited! Now I will not take my pets or rescued animals anywhere else. Upon a recent visit, I was even out of funds and could not pay until later that day and they still took my pet into a room to begin treatment even knowing that I did not have any money! They seen that my pet was very ill & time was not on my side and they immediately addressed my pet over all others that did not need emergency help! Now, you probably think that I bring them a lot of business or that I've been there before or even know someone...... NO, THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT & THE ONLY REASON I WENT HERE WAS BECAUSE I WAS REFERRED BY A FRIEND OF A FRIEND AND I WAS SICK OF ALL THE OTHER PLACES THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, THEY JUST WANT YOUR CASH! Plus I was told that the Kindness Animal Clinic will work with me upon payment..... Well, to my surprise, they did treat me just like I was told! They never seen me before and never helped one of my pets, yet they treated me and my pet like we were special and with love and care! AND WE NEVER VISITED THERE BEFORE! YOU'D THINK WE HAD BEEN GOING THERE FOR YEARS & SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! All the other places that I used to go I've already spent thousands of dollars & not one of those old places would give me a band aid before I gave them a $250 dollar deposit! Now you can see why I've changed vet clinics! I WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE NOW! PLUS THE PRICING FOR EVERYTHING INCLUDING PRICE QUOTES THAT I GOT FOR FUTURE TREATMENT & DISEASE PREVENTION MEDICATIONS WERE ALMOST 50% LESS THAN ANYWHERE ELSE! God blessed me with finding them! Bless them all at the Kindness Animal Clinic!Read Less

Debbie Harrelson who basically runs the place and is in BILLING is a nightmare and informed me today my beloved friend Nancy Gerhardt Veterinarian of many years no longer owns the clinic.  Some vet named Rao appears to own it.  But Kindness Animal Clinic WILL bill you for items AFTER you leave and they WILL slap these bills you never knew you owed on all of your credit reports.  I went in person when I saw a collection on my credit.  Nancy specifically stood over Debbie and told her to remove one of these "surprise" bills as error and said I did not have to pay it because I never agreed to it.  It was $131 but the principle, I spent thousands there over two decades and it was keeping me from closing on a home. Debbie Harrelson of Kindness Animal Clinic in Bradenton FL turned around and did not remove it as mistake--but marked it PAID but bad.  Of course I still did not know until my home closing had issues over it.  Then I call Debbie and she basically tells me to get lost.  I use Desoto Vet now who is awesome on Manatee Avenue.  There are never surprise bills and they take great care of my pets. I have been a client of Kindness Animal Clinic since 2008. I had just rescued a dog in horrid condition. He had been used as a bait dog for dog fights and was covered with bite marks, missing parts of his ears, was extremely skinny, had rotten teeth and heart worms. He was in such bad shape that I was advised by many to euthanize him. I was referred to Dr. Nancy by the Humane Society. After she examined the dog, she came up with a plan and worked with me for months to get him in good shape. He then looked like a new dog. Having fallen in love with him, I kept him. He lived for another 8 years - happy and healthy. Having seen Nancy's dedication to the animals, I then switched all vet needs from a very exclusive, expensive (but also very good) vet to Kindness. I have never regretted the decision. I have been involved with animal rescue over the years and have always found Dr. Nancy and her staff helpful and reasonable. Nancy has worked with me countless ways to resolve issues with these animals and I simply can't thank her enough. She has saved many a life of an abandoned or abused animal. I have happily referred others to this clinic and will continue to do so. If you want compassion, veterinary expertise, and solutions at a reasonable cost, this is the place to go. Read Less

We kindness. They have saved the lives of 3 of our pets. In 99 during hurricane Floyd our dog walked on a blown over window. The glass severed a main artery on the back of her leg. They stitched her up & stayed with her during her recovery, through the storm!!!! I was so impressed. It was a hurricane and they stayed!!!! Years later my Am. bulldog ate a webkin, Ugh! He was dying. They did blood tests, urine tests ex rays and discovered they had to operate. Saved his life - the toy was lodged in his small intestines. Our cat a year later needed medical attention. She had kidney stones. She needed a special diet and medication. Saved her life too!!! ALL OF WHICH they allowed me to make payments. These people are good people. They have to do tests or perform surgeries. It's part of medical practice. Not every animal is going to live. People loose an animal and want someone to blame. Quite frankly I'm appalled at the negative comments. I refer them to everyone I know who has pets. Read Less

I've been going to Kindness Animal Clinic & "Doc Nancy" since 1984. She has seen every fur-baby our family has had, both cats & dogs. While sometimes the office may be a little crowded, there have only been a few times where I may have waited 15 minutes or less. On those occasions, I've found out they had an immediate crisis with a walk-in pet (hit by vehicle, dying, etc.). Their policy is to be as timely as possible, but those type emergencies take precedence. I found that out myself, when one of my sons picked up our own pet from her office, pulled out of the parking area, and was involved in a major vehicle accident in which our pet, the one he JUST picked up, was ejected from his vehicle, even though dog-belted in. Some people there picked up our pet, while emergency crews were handling my son and human emergencies, and rushed our pet into Doc Nancy and they informed us where she was. Our pet was immediately seen and, after the human crisis was handled, I contacted Doc Nancy who told us not to worry, they would take care of her until our family emergency was resolved. When I came to get our pet, 36 hrs. later, there was NO charge for anything...the re-exam of our pet, the boarding - nothing. Her fees are more than reasonable; she has always been up-front with services needed, never recommending anything not needed. She and her staff have always been compassionate and kind, and I would, have, and will continue to recommend her and her office for veterinarian services. Our family is truly appreciative of everything they have done and will continue to go to her for services!!! We love you, "Doc Nancy"! Read Less

In particular Noah our 8 1/2 year old Miniature Bull Terrier was recently diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis and was very ill. She originally said he needed emergency care , but both Linda and I being diabetic ourselves felt we could care for him at home. Nancy gave us her home phone number and kept in contact with us throughout a 3-day period every few hours to check on Noah. Eventually Noah had to be treated at an emergency clinic; he was very ill. Where do I begin on this one?  Granted my experience was years ago, before services like Yelp existed, my review is still very relevant. My calico kitten was brought here after a sparkling referral from a co-worker for declaw surgery (which I am now avidly against) because at the time it was a condition of her being kept in my home. Dr. Nancy asked me if I wanted all four of her feet done, which I thought was odd and I declined. I left Callie there in the morning and my mom went to pick her up that afternoon. When I got home from work that night, her bandages were bloody and I was told to remove the bandages that evening. After getting them mostly off, the material that was used to stop the bleeding was stuck to her little paws and I couldn't remove it, so I called the office for advice. She told me to, "just rip them right off, it won't hurt her."  I was horrified. Callie was sent home after this surgery with no antibiotics and no pain medication. She eventually healed up, but her paws were always tender. Fast forward 8 years later. Callie began limping on her right front paw. A visit to a new veterinarian revealed that her claws were GROWING BACK!! The vet told me the butcher who did the original surgery did not remove the whole claw, so they began to grow back. So my Callie had to suffer through another declaw surgery at the age of eight years old because of the negligence of this woman. Since I will never set foot in her establishment again, this is my next best line of defense, to make sure Callie's story is told and she does this no longer. If you love your pet, stay clear away from "Kindness" animal clinic. There is nothing kind about them. Read Less

When first moved to Bradenton, we found this office and took 3 dogs there.  One they could not handle because he was older and a bit aggressive.  (just took some patience) One was completely misdiagnosed and later died as a result.  Thankfully the youngest one is still with is and had no problems.  The staff are unprofessional and act like they'd rather be anywhere else but at work  (including the vet).  They do not greet when you come in.  The wait times are atrocious .... even with an appointment, it is not uncommon to wait 45-60 minutes to see anyone.  The one positive I will say is the costs are very reasonable.  But I moved on and concluded "you get what you pay for"   Sorry - but I cannot in good conscious recommend this clinic. Where do I even begin...My kitten died suddenly and unexpectedly a little over a week ago so we decided we should take our other cat to the vet to get looked at. We had gone to Kindness Animal Clinic a couple times before, and I didn't really like it. Not only because of the service, but because everytime we go there, I leave covered in hair that is all over the sad excuse for a waiting room, and smelling like wet dog. However, due to the traumatic weekend we had, we just wanted to make an appointment as soon as possible, so my boyfriend made an appointment there. When we got there, nobody greeted us, nobody smiled. We just signed in and sat down. Eventually someone came up to us and rushed us into the room. She was decently nice and asked a few questions before getting the vet to come in. The vet, Nancy, was rude and rushed in, pushed passed us without even saying excuse me or introducing herself. Everything was rushed. All she did was look at his gums and take his temperature, which let her come to the conclusion he was okay. She told us our cat probably died of heartworms and told us to get heartworm meds. (She did not die of heartworms, it was a heart problem she was born with). Later after thinking about it, I realized we were played. She realized we were fragile and would do anything for our cat, so she knew she could make a big sale. Also, she didn't even notice that our cat clearly had worms (if she would have taken the time to look). We were very dissatisfied to say the least and WILL NOT BE BACK. Do not go here. The name is deceiving. There is no "kindness" and no care. Take the time to look elsewhere for a vet. That's what we will be doing. Read Less

I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. You walk in and sign a sheet, but nobody acknowledges you. No greeting, no smile, no welcome. Not even a hello or treat for your pet. There was a rude lady that sat at the front desk that never said a word to anybody or make eye contact, and just printed things and read while people stood at the desk, waiting for some kind of communication. People would look bewildered and wonder what to do and then just sit down. I sat there for 35 minutes, waiting to be acknowledged and then finally said something to a passing vet tech. So, she just scooped up my dog and went to a room without saying a word. I followed, and didn't even know if she was the vet or not because she didn't even introduce herself. I later discovered that the rude lady at the desk was actually the vet! I never once saw her in a room with a pet. The vet techs did everything and appeared to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off. No order, structure or professionalism. It was surreal and something I never experienced before. The place was dirty, disorganized and smelled. I am amazed that this place is in business or that it gets repeat customers. It was the worst experience I have ever had in any type of office. Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Nancy has been our Vet since 1981 and has always provided wonderful care for all of our pets. Dr. Nancy also saved his life from heartworm a few years earlier. She is a great vet, and friend. We are so lucky to have her and her dedication to pet health. Read Less

I have gone to Kindness for 8 years. The vet techs are wonderful! Anybody that can handle my rattie is outstanding. Very fairly priced compared to other vet practices. The best part is they always get you in when you want, no waiting days for an appointment. Even though I have moved to the other side of town, I am still going there. Hard to let go. Other vets were 2-6 weeks out for an appointment because I was a new client. Dr. Nancy and her staff are great! Read Less

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! She is a scam artist! I brought my 12 week puppy here because he was throwing up constantly. She took an x-ray and pointed out something really tiny and talked me into spending more money because her exact words "he could die!" She even went as far as trying to talk me into letting her cut him open to get whatever out. I said absolutely not! I instead went to an ultra sound tech that checked him out and said there was absolutely nothing seriously wrong with him. Yeah she conned me. Her employees even told me they've seen it many times where she cut open dogs that didn't need to be. How is this woman still in business?!!!!! Read Less

Do not I repeat do not bring your animals to this clinic. Operated on my dogs eye's did not resolve the problem, then they told to take him to a optamologist so I took him to a real Dr that took the time to diagnose the problem and pretty much said the operation was unnecessary. They even gave my new Vet a hard time when she requested his records. I feel my dog was put thru unnecessary trama. But they still got their money. How do they sleep at night? Read Less

Read Less

My mini Dachshund was diagnosed with bladder stones. They said she needed surgery right away. They called me in the middle of the surgery saying, "oh your dog is losing a lot of blood and needs a transfusion...is it ok?' I'm thinking ....hell yes if it saves her life. They never cross matched the blood, and hooked my dog up to some unknown animal. She developed anemia from the transfusion. She was poorly taken care of while there. They were treating her for the WRONG THING! I took her somewhere else and they told me what was going on. a HUGE 5" INCISION in a Dachshund that only needed to be an inch.I am not saying anything else on here because my dog died on March 17th.....only about a week after Killness Animal clinics botched attempt at surgery. I am taking them to court. If anyone else has lost a pet due to them....CONTACT ME. We can collectively sue her and force her out of business. I have read several other reviews stating that they killed other peoples pets as well.contact me at [email protected]!!!! COLLECTIVELY WE CAN PUT AN END TO THIS KIND OF ANIMAL CRUELTY.
