We have been serving East Manatee County for 22 years. We won the Bradenton Herald's 2008 People's Choic Award. We perform surgery, we provide boarding, we perform denistry and radiology. We have a brand new State of the art indoor/outdoor runs. All Animals state in a climate controlled environment. Proof of Vaccination Required. all animals arwe closely supervised.

So let me start by saying if you want a cheap clinic, this is your place. If you want quality, this isn't it. You MAY see a lot of high star reviews BUT read how people are saying the staff is AWFUL! I have also worked in a vets office for 2 years and know what goes on behind the scenes and how people and pets should be treated. The old saying you get what you pay for rings true here. I had one cat die under their care. Due to the lack of concern on their part and the extensive time it takes to get tests back. This clinic does not have a lot of "new age" services and will often refer you out. Since the first day I walked into this clinic I was greeted with attitude. At the time there was a heavy set male working the desk and he always had a rude demeanor. I assumed it was just him and brushed it off. I have not seen him there in a while. Receptionist number 2, a young blonde girl. I recently went to drop my cat off for a dental and I was the only one there. I was verbally expressing my concern about my elderly pet going under anesthesia (several times talking to myself). I got crickets. I was so annoyed by her silence that I addressed it. I said "ma'am, I would expect an office to bring reassurance to a concerned pet parent." She did respond nicely which I appreciated but was still annoyed by the lack of concern. Again, I took the high road. Well, my cat had bloodwork done a month prior to the procedure and had high liver enzymes. We continued with the dental, and rechecked the bloodwork. I received a phone call about 8pm the next night after the dental. It was working and could not answer my cell phone. I got a message from Dr Gartenberg saying that my cat's liver enzymes have increased significantly. I called them back the next day. The woman that answered the phone was a rude "you know what." I simply asked that the Dr call me when he has time so we could discuss the next step. She legit responded with "well you need to answer your phone next time, he gets annoyed when he has to call someone back four times so answer your phone next time." I replied with, excuse me.. I'm not retired, I was working and every time I talk to you, you are rude." I refrained from being a nasty person myself. We ended the conversation and that was the last straw with this place. My husband agrees. He also says every time he took her in they were A-holes. The clinic itself is old and outdated. The Dr does appear to be knowledgeable but even his compassion is hit or miss. It's unfortunate because I feel if he had a better crew to reinvigorate this place he would probably be much happier. I can handle a little bit of a bad attitude sometimes, clinics get busy, pet parents are emotional but this place is easily the worst office environment I have ever seen. I am at Braden River Animal Hospital now and I will pay the big price for a team that shows compassion and urgency for the health of my pet. I hope the staff reads this at the Pet Clinic and I don't care if you know who I am. People need to be educated about the unprofessional atmosphere of your clinic.

I was extremely pleased with the care my cat received in the past 2 years, but when I needed assistance to euthanize her at 5 pm on Friday when I returned from work due to not wanting see her suffer any longer, I was told to call back in the morning (Saturday) and see if there are any cancellations because they are fully booked. They might be able to fit me in if someone cancels. I was shocked and thought possibly I was speaking to an answering service, but I was not. I was actually speaking to the member of the clinic's staff. Not the way to treat someone with an emotional need and allow a pet to suffer needlessly. # lack of compassion

We're new to the area and this clinic came recommend by the previous homeowner. I'm so glad we listened! We were able to have our two cats seen as well as the 3 lb Chihuahua. The vet cleaned the cats teeth and the dogs. The cost was SO reasonable! It was half what the vet in KY wanted to charge. The dog was supper happy after his procedure and recovered quickly. I will definitely keep coming here for my animals needs.

On Friday July 6th I called the Pet Clinic and had the WORST customer service experience I have EVER had. I had been playing phone Tag with Dr Gartenburg and we kept missing each other. I told the lady who answered the phone my name to which she replied "oh yes we know who you are" in a very rude tone. She said "you have been playing phone tag with Dr Gartenburg and he will NOT be calling you back" I was absolutely shocked at her response and said "Excuse me" she then went on to say that he does not like playing phone tag and he will not be calling me back but I could make an appointment. I explained that my dog was not eating and that he was having trouble breathing to which she replied "well there is nothing we can do for you as we have nothing today, I suggest you try somewhere else". I have been taking my Dog there for three years and I have NEVER ever been spoken to like this by anyone, My Golden retriever is nearly 13 years old and I didn't want to take him somewhere else when Dr G knows his history. I ended up going to the Animal Hospital in Lakewood Ranch who were AMAZING. They did all the test in house and diagnosed what he needed. The Pet Clinic maybe cheaper but you pay for what you get and I would say to anyone who loves their pets and has something urgent not to EVER go to the Pet Clinic as there staff are absolutely DISGUSTING!!!

First of all, everytime I go and pick my dog up, one if the employees will tell the man to go get the dog & he will complain about having to get up & help a customer RIGHT in front of you. He is constantly talking about how he hates his job & "needs a cigarette." Also, I took my dog in for a skin condition to get medication that ended up making her sick, so the next day I called asking for a new one. The woman on the phone was EXTREMELY rude beyond belief! When I asked for the price difference for the new medication she replied "honey, i don't know how much it is I dont do the money." WOW. Imagine how they are treating your dog when they're treating you like this. I will NEVER go here again!

We drive from Ruskin and have taken our two dogs there for many years. The Vet business has changed over the years. Most clinics now follow a business model limiting the time vet looks as your pets. Typically it is only for a couple of minutes and turned over to someone else. Also they try to sell you products and services you do not need trying to make you feel guilty if you do not use them. Basically you go in and you should spend for shots or check up and walk out poor. Not the case here, the Vet is in the business for the right reason, he loves animals and he wants to help you keep your animal healthy. You are not going to be sold a bunch of products and services that are not necessary. This type of practice is "dieing" but thank God we found this one. Thanks.

He gets right to it, He knows what he's doing, he's very experienced and skilled; and we trust him with both of our pets Mittens and Zeus.Dr.Gartenberg has treated both our cat and dog, and most recently our cat Mittens had a procedure diagnosed and done by the doctor, that if it hadn't been done could've cost our kitty his life. We knew Mittens was in good hands with Dr.Gartenberg. It is so nice to have found a veterinarian who is in it for the right reasons...not just for the show and the profit. Dr. Gartenberg is an excellent veterinarian, and his prices are not inflated, and his staff also truly cares about their animals patients! Highly recommend

We recently had to have our 16 year old poodle put down. Doctor G was so kind and considerate and gentle through a difficult process. He asked how I was and how my wife was (who couldn't bear to come in). A week later we got a beautiful handwritten letter from the doctor telling my wife we made the right decision. This was so far above and beyond. It really was so kind. I highly recommend not just because of this, but this exemplifies the care we have received.

I called a few minutes before they closed, yet they still allowed us to bring Ãn our 16 year old terrier and prescribed antibiotics to immediately help our "baby". She had a bad tooth abcess. The next week, when the swelling and infection subsided...he addressed the tooth abcess.
I am so happy with them! This is the best vet in town, and will make your visit affordable or work with you if necessary---for the good of your pet.

On November 21st, 2016, I took my dog to this clinic, because she is limping.. The doctor prescribed a medication for her pain, without knowing that she already had a kidney problem. The med was so strong that made her kidney problem worsen. She stopped eating, was drinking tons of water, urinating everywhere and vomiting all the time.. I took her back. He took X-Rays and blood sample. X-Rays were normal. The blood test, did indeed, showed a kidney disease. But he never offered any treatment for her. He totally ignored her disease saying that it was something very minor!! I took her to another veterinarian, where they flushed out her kidneys for three days in a row, and put her on antibiotics, since she got a urinary infection from the med he gave her! Thanks to God and the other Veterinarian, she is slowly, getting back to normal, and eating again.

We have been going to The Pet Clinic for the past four years. We have been consistently impressed with Dr. G's competence and compassion. There is no formal advertising, only word of mouth. The office is always busy although when you are with Dr. G you feel like you are his only patient. He keeps the costs low while not compromising his quality of care. We wouldn't go to anyone else and have referred many people to his practice. We highly recommend The Pet Clinic.

I have tried 6 different veterinary clinics in the Sarasota and Bradenton Area over the last 8 years. We have been taking our dogs(4 poms) to Dr. Gartenberg's office for a year now for treatment and boarding. Sometimes the front desk can come off as being short on customer service but it is only when they BMare getting slammed on the phone and in the waiting room. I have been there over a dozen times and, in my opinion, this is the best Vet Clinic and boarding kennel in the area. In addition, the prices are more than fair. It is less than $20 for an anti-inflammatory shot for our aging Pomeranian. Some vets will charge over $100 for this. The focus here is more on the animals than the owners which is where it ought to be.

I have been taking my dog to Dr.G for years. He is a very knowledgeable Dr. and in emergencies I've never had a problem getting my dog seen in most cases the very same day. Being that he is the ONLY doctor at this practice, you can expect to wait a fair amount of time. He does not rush through and get you in and out.... he spends the time to actually address your concerns. So if waiting 30 minutes or so is an issue, maybe find another vet. But I trust Dr.G and I will wait with my baby for the best every time. I have found that a few of the staff members can be a little impatient, but CHET is the best In my eyes.... keeps you laughing while you wait. :)

One we received from him & our dog had died at the Emergency Clinic by Bonefish Grill. He takes his time with you explaining in detail everything. There were times when we went in the Clinic & they were swapped so I don't expect the staff to be socializing with you. Monica has always been pleasant with us. The staff are very nice and have great personalities, I don't know how other reviewers can say they are rude, they are very personable and very real not like some other places I've been to where it's all a show... The vet personally will follow up with you by phone about your pet if it was sick or had to have tests done. Very genuine and honest he is. All of the vets should be like this and there not. There is only one vet here, unlike other facilities where there's a new person all the time and multiple vets. There's a reason why everyone in town wants to come here and they are very busy because of that. Great job.

I cannot recommend The Pet Clinic. The staff at the Pet Clinic are the rudest, most inconsiderate, and abrasive group of people that I have ever met in my entire life. I will never return to The Pet Clinic again. Dr. Gartenberg was treating my dog for a year and my dog was 14 years old and in failing health. When the dog was vomiting and would not eat, I contacted the Pet Clinic and asked to see Dr. Gartenberg. I spoke with the man at the desk who told me to see another vet in the area. He suggested Braden River Animal Hospital or an emergency vet. However, I tried to reason with him and explained that Dr. Gartenberg had been treating my dog and that the Pet Clinic had all of my dog's records. I also explained that it didn't make sense to take my dog elsewhere. What good is it to have a vet when you cannot take your dog to him when your dog is sick. I thought that if I went to the Pet Clinic and waited that perhaps the vet could find a minute to see me and my dog. However, I was left sitting there for almost three hours while the man at the desk attended to all other appointments. He completely ignored me. I left the office at lunchtime, sad and completely frustrated, and went home. However, I didn't know what to do or where to go with my dog. I called the Pet Clinic again and asked an older woman who was now at the desk if she could please give me an appointment to see the vet. She told me, "No." I then asked her if I took my dog to an emergency vet that day could I see Dr. Gartenberg in the next day or so. The response from the older woman was that the vet was totally booked. There were no available openings for weeks. I knew that my dog didn't have long to live. I contacted another vet and he agreed to see me that afternoon. So, I called the Pet Clinic again and asked them to do one last thing for me. I asked them to forward my dog's records to the new vet. They promised me they would. But, they never did. My dog died a few days later. I do not like to write these sort of reviews on people or businesses. However in this case, my experience was so bad I felt a need to document it so others would know how badly I was treated by The Pet Clinic.

Everyone there is helpful, be it in person or on the phone. I always know my dogs are going to get the best care for such reasonable prices when I go there. I would recommend anyone go here who wants a compassionate Vet and staff, an excellent Dr....outstanding care. As for how reasonable, I compared the cost of my two pups both getting fixed, antibiotics, and microchipped , compared to a friend who spent more than that for ONE dog, and no microchip! Unlike others on here I was a patient of the doctors, I went there at 7:30 a.m. For an emergency situation and was told that the doctor could not see my dog that day and suggested I take her to Braden River Animal Hospital where they have 5 vets, I told her I would and that would be where I would be taking her from now on, I loved the care I got from Dr. Gartenberg but his staff were the most rude people I have ever dealt with. Why have a vet if he is not there for emergencies?

No, no, no! This was our first visit to this clinic. So disorganized - the staff gave us another dog's teeth saying they were our pets, then gave our dog's meds to another family who had to bring them back. The vet called saying that our dog tested positive for heart worms, which was not true. This has been tested with two tests from another vet and an outside lab. I did call the vet to give him this update, and he had little to no response. No discussion about re-testing other dogs in the clinic that day, no apology, nothing.

I have grown up only knowing only 1 Veterinarian, Dr. Gartenberg. He is a kind and generous Vet that cares about all of his patients and families. A while back, my brother had a dog that was poisoned by antifreeze and ultimately passed under the care of the kind Dr. This was a sad day indeed for my brother. A couple days later he received a letter in the mail (handwritten) from the Dr. expressing his sympathy and his sadness also for the loss and how he wished he could've done more. That was 15 years ago and that act of kindness still resonates with me. Now I am all grown up with a family and a dog of my own. We take her to The Pet Clinic every month for a shot and a visit. The visit including the shot is less than $20.00I don't know of any other Vet that is like this. Please use The Pet Clinic. They broke the mold when they made Dr. Gartenberg.

Excellent experience. I was able to get an appointment within a few days because my dog had a hurt paw, and I wanted the Dr to check it out. The staff was very friendly and the Vet was excellent. Diagnosed my dog right away and the price was extremely fair. Lots of people board their dogs for the day there, as I noticed while I was waiting. The volume of people taking their dog there spoke loud and clear. I was extremely pleased with my first visit and Dr. Gartenberg will definitely be my dog's vet!!!!

I can't express in words how great of a vet Dr. Gartenberg is. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt obligated to in this case.After dealing with multiple other vets in the Sarasota area, most of which are horrible and bill outrageous amounts, we first came across The Pet Clinic shortly after we moved to Bradenton a few years ago.Long story short, it was Christmas Eve (around 10PM) and our dog was choking on a bone. We thought, based on his actions, that he was in serious trouble. Panicked, we tried to find a local vet's number and his was the first that popped up. We called, left a message, and received a call back from the doctor within minutes. He talked to us and, after various questions/answers, let us know that everything should be OK (which it was). Keep in mind that we weren't even a client of his (yet) and did I mention it was 10PM on Christmas Eve. He didn't even say a word about a charge for the call, nor did he.So when our dogs shots were due, we of course scheduled an appointment with The Pet Clinic. It had been a while, so he needed everything but rabies. We finally met the doctor in person, and he is truly a warm, caring person who clearly loves animals and knows what he is doing. A typical "country vet" (at least what this city guy pictured). We had all the normal shots, fecal heartworm test, heartworm shot, etc. done. Used to paying the chain-vet prices in Sarasota, I was expecting hundreds of dollars when it came time to pay. The total bill was about $75. I was shocked. Suffice it to say, we have continued to go there ever since.Just last night, New Years Day, at 6PM (if you can't tell, we seem to have really bad timing when it comes to problems), we had another mini-emergency, and once again Dr. Gartenberg called us right back to give us advice and called in a prescription for us to pick up at Walgreens. We came in today for him to look at our dog, and he made sure everything was OK. The people there are friendly and caring. The prices are outrageously low. You don't feel rushed, and he is happy to talk and spend time with you and your pet. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They are, by far, the best vet that I have ever been to or could ever ask for.If I was forced to make one ever-so-slight-negative-comment, the only thing I could say is that appointment scheduling is generally a few weeks out (unless of course it's an emergency). But that's just because he's so good that everyone goes to him and he stays quite busy (a good sign!). Also, he's not a corporate run chain with tons of doctors there - it's just him - and he spends time with his clients to make sure they are taken care of properly. So it's not really a criticism, just a point of clarification. He doesn't advertise, so all of his business comes from recommendations and word of mouth.So here is my recommendation. If you need a vet, go to The Pet Clinic. If you have a vet already, stopping going there and go to The Pet Clinic instead. I would never go anywhere else, and if we ever had to move, I would gladly drive hours to still come here.

So let me start by saying if you want a cheap clinic, this is your place. If you want quality, this isn't it. You MAY see a lot of high star reviews BUT read how people are saying the staff is AWFUL! I have also worked in a vets office for 2 years and know what goes on behind the scenes and how people and pets should be treated. The old saying you get what you pay for rings true here. I had one cat die under their care. Due to the lack of concern on their part and the extensive time it takes to get tests back. This clinic does not have a lot of "new age" services and will often refer you out. Since the first day I walked into this clinic I was greeted with attitude. At the time there was a heavy set male working the desk and he always had a rude demeanor. I assumed it was just him and brushed it off. I have not seen him there in a while. Receptionist number 2, a young blonde girl. I recently went to drop my cat off for a dental and I was the only one there. I was verbally expressing my concern about my elderly pet going under anesthesia (several times talking to myself). I got crickets. I was so annoyed by her silence that I addressed it. I said "ma'am, I would expect an office to bring reassurance to a concerned pet parent." She did respond nicely which I appreciated but was still annoyed by the lack of concern. Again, I took the high road. Well, my cat had bloodwork done a month prior to the procedure and had high liver enzymes. We continued with the dental, and rechecked the bloodwork. I received a phone call about 8pm the next night after the dental. It was working and could not answer my cell phone. I got a message from Dr Gartenberg saying that my cat's liver enzymes have increased significantly. I called them back the next day. The woman that answered the phone was a rude "you know what." I simply asked that the Dr call me when he has time so we could discuss the next step. She legit responded with "well you need to answer your phone next time, he gets annoyed when he has to call someone back four times so answer your phone next time." I replied with, excuse me.. I'm not retired, I was working and every time I talk to you, you are rude." I refrained from being a nasty person myself. We ended the conversation and that was the last straw with this place. My husband agrees. He also says every time he took her in they were A-holes. The clinic itself is old and outdated. The Dr does appear to be knowledgeable but even his compassion is hit or miss. It's unfortunate because I feel if he had a better crew to reinvigorate this place he would probably be much happier. I can handle a little bit of a bad attitude sometimes, clinics get busy, pet parents are emotional but this place is easily the worst office environment I have ever seen. I am at Braden River Animal Hospital now and I will pay the big price for a team that shows compassion and urgency for the health of my pet. I hope the staff reads this at the Pet Clinic and I don't care if you know who I am. People need to be educated about the unprofessional atmosphere of your clinic.

They might be able to fit me in if someone cancels. I was shocked and thought possibly I was speaking to an answering service, but I was not. I was actually speaking to the member of the clinic's staff. Not the way to treat someone with an emotional need and allow a pet to suffer needlessly. # lack of compassion

We're new to the area and this clinic came recommend by the previous homeowner. I'm so glad we listened! We were able to have our two cats seen as well as the 3 lb Chihuahua. The vet cleaned the cats teeth and the dogs. The cost was SO reasonable! It was half what the vet in KY wanted to charge. The dog was supper happy after his procedure and recovered quickly. I will definitely keep coming here for my animals needs.

On Friday July 6th I called the Pet Clinic and had the WORST customer service experience I have EVER had. I had been playing phone Tag with Dr Gartenburg and we kept missing each other. I told the lady who answered the phone my name to which she replied "oh yes we know who you are" in a very rude tone. She said "you have been playing phone tag with Dr Gartenburg and he will NOT be calling you back" I was absolutely shocked at her response and said "Excuse me" she then went on to say that he does not like playing phone tag and he will not be calling me back but I could make an appointment. I explained that my dog was not eating and that he was having trouble breathing to which she replied "well there is nothing we can do for you as we have nothing today, I suggest you try somewhere else". I have been taking my Dog there for three years and I have NEVER ever been spoken to like this by anyone, My Golden retriever is nearly 13 years old and I didn't want to take him somewhere else when Dr G knows his history. I ended up going to the Animal Hospital in Lakewood Ranch who were AMAZING. They did all the test in house and diagnosed what he needed. The Pet Clinic maybe cheaper but you pay for what you get and I would say to anyone who loves their pets and has something urgent not to EVER go to the Pet Clinic as there staff are absolutely DISGUSTING!!!

First of all, everytime I go and pick my dog up, one if the employees will tell the man to go get the dog & he will complain about having to get up & help a customer RIGHT in front of you. He is constantly talking about how he hates his job & "needs a cigarette." Also, I took my dog in for a skin condition to get medication that ended up making her sick, so the next day I called asking for a new one. The woman on the phone was EXTREMELY rude beyond belief! When I asked for the price difference for the new medication she replied "honey, i don't know how much it is I dont do the money." WOW. Imagine how they are treating your dog when they're treating you like this. I will NEVER go here again!

We drive from Ruskin and have taken our two dogs there for many years. The Vet business has changed over the years. Most clinics now follow a business model limiting the time vet looks as your pets. Typically it is only for a couple of minutes and turned over to someone else. Also they try to sell you products and services you do not need trying to make you feel guilty if you do not use them. Basically you go in and you should spend for shots or check up and walk out poor. Not the case here, the Vet is in the business for the right reason, he loves animals and he wants to help you keep your animal healthy. You are not going to be sold a bunch of products and services that are not necessary. This type of practice is "dieing" but thank God we found this one. Thanks.

We knew Mittens was in good hands with Dr.Gartenberg. It is so nice to have found a veterinarian who is in it for the right reasons...not just for the show and the profit. My little Maltipoo always meets a friend and so do I, even if we don't see each other again. I'm reminded of my next shots and my 9 month pup is always in good care. Prices are affordable compared to other vets and and I feel we're getting better care. We've even boarded her although I don't like to but she was just fine.

On November 21st, 2016, I took my dog to this clinic, because she is limping.. The doctor prescribed a medication for her pain, without knowing that she already had a kidney problem. The med was so strong that made her kidney problem worsen. She stopped eating, was drinking tons of water, urinating everywhere and vomiting all the time.. I took her back. He took X-Rays and blood sample. X-Rays were normal. The blood test, did indeed, showed a kidney disease. But he never offered any treatment for her. He totally ignored her disease saying that it was something very minor!! I took her to another veterinarian, where they flushed out her kidneys for three days in a row, and put her on antibiotics, since she got a urinary infection from the med he gave her! Thanks to God and the other Veterinarian, she is slowly, getting back to normal, and eating again.

We have been going to The Pet Clinic for the past four years. We have been consistently impressed with Dr. G's competence and compassion. There is no formal advertising, only word of mouth. The office is always busy although when you are with Dr. G you feel like you are his only patient. He keeps the costs low while not compromising his quality of care. We wouldn't go to anyone else and have referred many people to his practice. We highly recommend The Pet Clinic.

I have tried 6 different veterinary clinics in the Sarasota and Bradenton Area over the last 8 years. We have been taking our dogs(4 poms) to Dr. Gartenberg's office for a year now for treatment and boarding. Sometimes the front desk can come off as being short on customer service but it is only when they BMare getting slammed on the phone and in the waiting room. I have been there over a dozen times and, in my opinion, this is the best Vet Clinic and boarding kennel in the area. In addition, the prices are more than fair. It is less than $20 for an anti-inflammatory shot for our aging Pomeranian. Some vets will charge over $100 for this. The focus here is more on the animals than the owners which is where it ought to be.

I have been taking my dog to Dr.G for years. He is a very knowledgeable Dr. and in emergencies I've never had a problem getting my dog seen in most cases the very same day. Being that he is the ONLY doctor at this practice, you can expect to wait a fair amount of time. He does not rush through and get you in and out.... he spends the time to actually address your concerns. So if waiting 30 minutes or so is an issue, maybe find another vet. But I trust Dr.G and I will wait with my baby for the best every time. I have found that a few of the staff members can be a little impatient, but CHET is the best In my eyes.... keeps you laughing while you wait. :)

We have seen Dr.G now for almost 8 years. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and loves all the animals deeply. We have gotten hand written notes too. One we received from him & our dog had died at the Emergency Clinic by Bonefish Grill. He takes his time with you explaining in detail everything. There were times when we went in the Clinic & they were swapped so I don't expect the staff to be socializing with you. Monica has always been pleasant with us. As for Padi biting someone, that was due to lack of child supervision by the babysitter. I would recommend Dr. Gartenberg Highly. And thank everyone there for all their efforts. Marie D. The staff are very nice and have great personalities, I don't know how other reviewers can say they are rude, they are very personable and very real not like some other places I've been to where it's all a show... The vet personally will follow up with you by phone about your pet if it was sick or had to have tests done. Very genuine and honest he is. All of the vets should be like this and there not. There is only one vet here, unlike other facilities where there's a new person all the time and multiple vets. There's a reason why everyone in town wants to come here and they are very busy because of that. Great job.

Again I'm updating my review. I can't believe that such a wonderful vet as Dr Gardenberg can have THE WORSE front desk people. I called and left a message that one of my dogs had reach the point that she needed to be euthanized. I have never heard back from them. We have been using Dr G for 11 years love him but must leave because of staff.

I cannot recommend The Pet Clinic. The staff at the Pet Clinic are the rudest, most inconsiderate, and abrasive group of people that I have ever met in my entire life. I will never return to The Pet Clinic again. Dr. Gartenberg was treating my dog for a year and my dog was 14 years old and in failing health. When the dog was vomiting and would not eat, I contacted the Pet Clinic and asked to see Dr. Gartenberg. I spoke with the man at the desk who told me to see another vet in the area. He suggested Braden River Animal Hospital or an emergency vet. However, I tried to reason with him and explained that Dr. Gartenberg had been treating my dog and that the Pet Clinic had all of my dog's records. I also explained that it didn't make sense to take my dog elsewhere. What good is it to have a vet when you cannot take your dog to him when your dog is sick. I thought that if I went to the Pet Clinic and waited that perhaps the vet could find a minute to see me and my dog. However, I was left sitting there for almost three hours while the man at the desk attended to all other appointments. He completely ignored me. I left the office at lunchtime, sad and completely frustrated, and went home. However, I didn't know what to do or where to go with my dog. I called the Pet Clinic again and asked an older woman who was now at the desk if she could please give me an appointment to see the vet. She told me, "No." I then asked her if I took my dog to an emergency vet that day could I see Dr. Gartenberg in the next day or so. The response from the older woman was that the vet was totally booked. There were no available openings for weeks. I knew that my dog didn't have long to live. I contacted another vet and he agreed to see me that afternoon. So, I called the Pet Clinic again and asked them to do one last thing for me. I asked them to forward my dog's records to the new vet. They promised me they would. But, they never did. My dog died a few days later. I do not like to write these sort of reviews on people or businesses. However in this case, my experience was so bad I felt a need to document it so others would know how badly I was treated by The Pet Clinic.

This is, hands down, the best vet I've ever gone to in 50+ years of having pets...Dr.Gartenburg is an excellent Vet and his staff are professional and friendly. Everyone there is helpful, be it in person or on the phone. I always know my dogs are going to get the best care for such reasonable prices when I go there. I would recommend anyone go here who wants a compassionate Vet and staff, an excellent Dr....outstanding care. As for how reasonable, I compared the cost of my two pups both getting fixed, antibiotics, and microchipped , compared to a friend who spent more than that for ONE dog, and no microchip! Speaks for itself..

Unlike others on here I was a patient of the doctors, I went there at 7:30 a.m. For an emergency situation and was told that the doctor could not see my dog that day and suggested I take her to Braden River Animal Hospital where they have 5 vets, I told her I would and that would be where I would be taking her from now on, I loved the care I got from Dr. Gartenberg but his staff were the most rude people I have ever dealt with. Why have a vet if he is not there for emergencies?

No, no, no! This was our first visit to this clinic. So disorganized - the staff gave us another dog's teeth saying they were our pets, then gave our dog's meds to another family who had to bring them back. The vet called saying that our dog tested positive for heart worms, which was not true. This has been tested with two tests from another vet and an outside lab. I did call the vet to give him this update, and he had little to no response. No discussion about re-testing other dogs in the clinic that day, no apology, nothing.

I have grown up only knowing only 1 Veterinarian, Dr. Gartenberg. He is a kind and generous Vet that cares about all of his patients and families. A while back, my brother had a dog that was poisoned by antifreeze and ultimately passed under the care of the kind Dr. This was a sad day indeed for my brother. A couple days later he received a letter in the mail (handwritten) from the Dr. expressing his sympathy and his sadness also for the loss and how he wished he could've done more. That was 15 years ago and that act of kindness still resonates with me. Now I am all grown up with a family and a dog of my own. We take her to The Pet Clinic every month for a shot and a visit. The visit including the shot is less than $20.00I don't know of any other Vet that is like this. Please use The Pet Clinic. They broke the mold when they made Dr. Gartenberg.

Excellent experience. I was able to get an appointment within a few days because my dog had a hurt paw, and I wanted the Dr to check it out. The staff was very friendly and the Vet was excellent. Diagnosed my dog right away and the price was extremely fair. Lots of people board their dogs for the day there, as I noticed while I was waiting. The volume of people taking their dog there spoke loud and clear. I was extremely pleased with my first visit and Dr. Gartenberg will definitely be my dog's vet!!!!

I can't express in words how great of a vet Dr. Gartenberg is. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt obligated to in this case.After dealing with multiple other vets in the Sarasota area, most of which are horrible and bill outrageous amounts, we first came across The Pet Clinic shortly after we moved to Bradenton a few years ago.Long story short, it was Christmas Eve (around 10PM) and our dog was choking on a bone. We thought, based on his actions, that he was in serious trouble. Panicked, we tried to find a local vet's number and his was the first that popped up. We called, left a message, and received a call back from the doctor within minutes. He talked to us and, after various questions/answers, let us know that everything should be OK (which it was). Keep in mind that we weren't even a client of his (yet) and did I mention it was 10PM on Christmas Eve. He didn't even say a word about a charge for the call, nor did he.So when our dogs shots were due, we of course scheduled an appointment with The Pet Clinic. It had been a while, so he needed everything but rabies. We finally met the doctor in person, and he is truly a warm, caring person who clearly loves animals and knows what he is doing. A typical "country vet" (at least what this city guy pictured). We had all the normal shots, fecal heartworm test, heartworm shot, etc. done. Used to paying the chain-vet prices in Sarasota, I was expecting hundreds of dollars when it came time to pay. The total bill was about $75. I was shocked. Suffice it to say, we have continued to go there ever since.Just last night, New Years Day, at 6PM (if you can't tell, we seem to have really bad timing when it comes to problems), we had another mini-emergency, and once again Dr. Gartenberg called us right back to give us advice and called in a prescription for us to pick up at Walgreens. We came in today for him to look at our dog, and he made sure everything was OK. The people there are friendly and caring. The prices are outrageously low. You don't feel rushed, and he is happy to talk and spend time with you and your pet. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They are, by far, the best vet that I have ever been to or could ever ask for.If I was forced to make one ever-so-slight-negative-comment, the only thing I could say is that appointment scheduling is generally a few weeks out (unless of course it's an emergency). But that's just because he's so good that everyone goes to him and he stays quite busy (a good sign!). Also, he's not a corporate run chain with tons of doctors there - it's just him - and he spends time with his clients to make sure they are taken care of properly. So it's not really a criticism, just a point of clarification. He doesn't advertise, so all of his business comes from recommendations and word of mouth.So here is my recommendation. If you need a vet, go to The Pet Clinic. If you have a vet already, stopping going there and go to The Pet Clinic instead. I would never go anywhere else, and if we ever had to move, I would gladly drive hours to still come here.
