I have been taking my fur babies to Banfield since we moved here 5 years ago. I pay for the wellness plan for both of my babies, this includes not only wellness visits, but was told I could bring my babies in anytime they were not feeling well. A sign hangs at the reception desk stating "We see sick and injured patients first". I was out of town and my daughter was watching my babies and unfortunately my 7 pound chihuahua fell ill. She was lethargic and unable to stand. My daughter took her to her veterinarian at Banfield and was told they would not see her because she didn't have an appointment. I called Banfield and was told my baby had been "triaged" and was safe for her to leave and go somewhere else. My daughter said no one ever looked at my baby, that she was told to leave since she didn't have an appointment. My 19 year old daughter walked out of that place crying and holding a limp and barely conscious little fur baby. She found another place to take her that was about 10 minutes away and was told she was having a hypoglycemic episode and would have died within the hour without help. Apparently Banfield does not care about their patients unless you have an appointment. Their sign at the reception desk is false advertisement. That place was going to let my baby die. My dog was there from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. When my husband went to pick him up, they said he couldn't because his lab work wasn't back!! Really?!!! It takes 7 hours for a Comprehensive Exam and STILL NO LAB RESULTS?!!! I'm moving on!!! Read Less

They get an FFF. Do not take your beloved pet their if you value their life for anything serious. From this you can guess what happened to my pet. they may be ok for shots but anything else NO. Banfield offers a convenient payment plan which fits with my retirement budget.  Last year my sweet little Hannah had a growth on her upper eyelid that was causing her to scratch at her eye almost constantly.  The Vets at Banfield, worked out a way to remove the growth while she was sedated for teeth cleaning -- no additional cost for sedation for this surgery.  Could not be happier.  The growth is gone and my girl is happy.  If Hannah is happy, I am happy. We purchased a pet from a local pet store, unaware that it had pneumonia and two other bacterial strains. Within the first day, we had to take it to the vet. Banfield was the only vet open on the weekend, so we took it here. We are so glad we did! All of the staff was helpful, and they worked us into their busy weekend schedule. Dr. Garcin was our doctor. I am extremely upset at the negligence this location showed toward my dog. Brought my dog in the month of December to have his skin examined and tested. Was given a shampoo and sent home. Spent 300 bucks. Called a month later to say it wasn't working but was told because "Dr. Strohm doesn't work here anymore and did not run a lab test the skin, we cannot write an antibiotic order based on her notes". No one can tell me what my money went for-- they say "an impression". They told me it would be another 300 to have his skin re-examined. NOPE. Took him to Cape Coral Pet Vet, where he was thoroughly examined and prescribed antibiotics, steroids, and antibiotic ear drops because now his entire integumentary system has been affected. DO NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR PET'S HEALTH BY RELYING ON THIS LOCATION. SAVE YOURSELF THE COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND SEE A COMPASSIONATE VET!!!!! Read Less

Refused to see my dog, didn't ask what was even wrong. I don't feel comfortable dropping her off there, she's 15 years old and was misdiagnosed the last time I dropped her off & the vet just wouldn't listen. Banfield Pet Hospital is one of the best vets I have ever been to. The vets actually care about the health of your pet. I had a pup there for almost 12 years before cancer took her away. The vet techs are very personable and care not only for your pet, but for you as well. I will never take my dogs anywhere else! Read Less

We've been taking our dogs here for a few years now. Never had a problem with them, except for when we had to have our German Shepherd puppy's dew claws removed because he had double claws on the toes & they were literally catching on everything, they ONLY sealed up the incisions with medical glue & ONLY left the bandages on for 24 hours, & told us to bring him back in the next day to have the bandages removed...well we did & that night he ripped open on of the incisions & bled all over the house, so I had to bring him in the next day to have staples put in & that cost us like $70 for those staples & the medication, even though we already have him on the Puppy Plus plan.... Other than that one incident, they have always been wonderful with our pets.Read Less

TERRIBLE ANIMAL HSPITAL! Took my dog in and was ripped off with HUNDREDS of dollars in medications I received from the vet right at Petsmart. Prescription was not correct and my dog got worse! DO NOT go to this vet as they rip you off on prices, Manager does not even care, and the young first job vets are suspect at best. Very disappointing as I never had a problem in Ft Lauderdale. They hold you emotionally hostage in order to sell as much as possible. Business minded, not out for what's best for you or your pet. They will basically make you feel bad for not walking out with 200$ plus in tests or scripts or supplements. Been going to banfield all over Florida, this is the same where ever you go. I, definitely, do not recommend this veterinarian service! They continue to sell, sell, sell. I believe the veterinarians are, either new out of school or lower quality candidates. The reason I gave it two stars is because some other people are friendly and try to be helpful. I laughed and stop taking my dog there, because I found out the staff is not professionally trained right. I am really surprised that I am writing this review.  Finding a good vet in a new city can be tough.  I called Banfield when my little maltese wasn't feeling up to par.  I did not have an appointment but did the walk in service. To my surprise, I was seen very quickly.  The people that work there are super nice and so sweet to your animals.  I was equally impressed with the doctor.  I seriously felt as if they were really trying to do the best for me and my little Moonlight.  I ended up signing up for their yearly program (which saved me a lot in the long run).  I've been back twice and have always been met with super nice staff and competent doctors.  *And on a side note - I'm super sensitive to pet hair and such - the place seems much cleaner than normal vet offices, etc.  So happy I found this place!
