My dog has been having a lot of issues and this morning I woke up freaking to a bunch of blood from my dog. I called Pet Vet first thing and they were able to calm me down. It started with me receiving emails when my pup was 5 months old saying she was due for her yearly check up. Followed by a phone call telling me she was due for her rabies. I explained she received her vaccine and my husband brought in proof. I was later told she had not had her flu shot or booster. I brought them proof on her first visit. It was on the form with all her other vaccines received. I emailed for heartworm and flea meds. I was told that she needed a heartworm test. I asked when that was due and normally due at 10 months, she is 7 months. I was emailed stating they would give us a 6 month supply. I ordered it from Chewy.com and they denied the prescription because her heartworm test would be due sooner than expiration of the pills.i understand this but yet the email clearing states 6 months would be approved.  They didn't call me to tell me they denied it. The email I received from chewy stated the vet needed to see her. I later got a phone call from Chewy explaining that the meds we use, they do not have in 3 packs which were approved so the order was cancelled.  So after many emails the vet then sent me a prescription for a differ type than what we use. It did not protect against fleas. Not explaining or calling me that, the company doesn't make them in 3 packs. This was explained after I told them it's not the right one. They should have called and let me know. If this vet can not keep my dogs records straight  of which shots she has had, I don't feel safe bringing in my fur baby. I called the Gulf Coast Clinic and will use them. I filled out a new client form, showed proof of weight and will receive my prescription without even leaving the house and tons of emails. Gulf Coast is much cheaper and they did an excellent job with her spaying. I will never use  Cape Coral Pet Vet again. If I didn't pay attention to which shots my dog had, they would have given her double rabies, double flu, and two boosters. I do not blame the vet but their front end help. Read Less

As long as you are on time and keep your appointment, you will love Pet Vet.  They have puppy plans for about400.00 that take care of your pup over time, one for dogs about 300 and one for senior dogs.  Service is basic and honest.  They aren't fancy, but don't push you to do unnecessary things either.  All in all, not overly friendly or overly fancy, but honest and quality care. I've been coming here for years. The staff and doctors are usually on point and caring. There have been a handful of time, however, where I've felt rushed. And these incidences have been happening more and more frequently. Be advised, if you have an emergency. You most likely will not get a same day appointment. They're just that busy. I will give them 4 stars out of loyalty, but seeing as how their wellness plans have increased in price and the customer service isn't matching. I will see what happens during my next few visits. Recently established with this hospital for both routine and emergency visits of 2/3 of my dogs. They were extremely accommodating of a late afternoon emergency visit and did a great job with my big boy. Most recently they performed a dental cleaning and extraction of a diseased tooth on my dachshund. She came home comfortable, with obvious signs that her oral pain was well managed under their care. They sent us home with the tools and education to maintain home dental care. She's recovered beautifully and back to her bouncy self. Read Less

I found Cape Pet Vet a few years ago after having been over charged by my old vet. My dog was old and had some issues and Cape Pet Vet was able to help my dog have a good quality of life in his final years. Last week I had to put my dog down after being with him for 15 years. I chose to have Cape Pet Vet come to my house to have it done. They came out and where very sympathetic and caring. They made a very tough decision and time much easier. A couple days later I got a card from Cape Pet Vet signed by everyone in their office saying how sorry they where for my lose. That meant an awful lot to me. Thank you Cape Pet Vet. This was my second try at a new vet for my senior rescue girl since I moved to Cape Coral. The first place with this disaster. So I needed to find somewhere new. My experience at Cape Coral Pet Vet was wonderful. It's just the right size not too big not too small. I felt quite comfortable and more importantly so did my dog. They gave her a very thorough exam and made her feel right at home. I could tell she really liked the vet and the text and she gave them both kisses. I grew up out in the country. My family always had animals, but the vets make home visits since we had larger animals. In my adult life, I've not had the opportunity to have any pets until about 4 months ago when I took in 2 little kittens.I started both kittens on their insurance plan, which was super handy since as a new pet parent, I was quick to worry over nothing. But that's what allows me to really comment about the service we have received. Each time I've brought my kittens in for their baby shots, spay/neuter, or when I worried that Magellan was limping (he played a little too rough with his sister), the employees and vet were quick to love on them both and were very thorough when addressing my questions and concerns. When I expressed concern about over feeding or getting enough exercise, Dr. Fisher recommended multiple options for us, even though she ensured us that they were not overweight. :) She and her techs have been super helpful and nice. I made an appointment for this evening and told the staff that my dog was limping and they said it might be luxating patella. They gave me the last appointment for the day and when I called to tell them I might be 5 minutes late they promptly told me that I would have to reschedule. They also told me that I should have not been scheduled so late in the day because they might have to do Xrays etc. I became furious. I told them, you can't wait an extra 5 minutes, my dog is in pain! Needless to say the practice manager and I got into and I came into the office to cancel my monthly vet plan.I have been going to this vet for two years and at first it was great. However, this is not the first time I have had issues with being scheduled too late for what my dog needed. I do not know what happened, but I will NEVER take my dogs there again. They did not care about the fact that my dog was in pain, but that I might be 5 minutes late. Obviously it is about the money and not the well-being of the animals. I have never been so upset in my life!!! You should be ashamed of yourself to turn away a paying customer with an injured dog because I might have been five minutes late. I called to give you a heads up and I was treated like garbage! No amount of "I am sorry" will ever fix this. You need to train your staff to schedule accordingly. I hope you feel horrible everytime you see a dog limping, just know that your precious 5 minutes means my dog is in pain. That makes you a rotten human being! Read Less

This is one of the Best Veterinarians we have ever had everyone there are so nice and caring with Vince our Red Noise Pit that we gave a Forever Home to, we got from (Sebring Angels) after we had to have Angel our American Bulldog Euthanized after 13 Year's in our Family. Price of a dental cleaning is, in my protected opinion, falsely advertised since EVERY dog is required undergo blood work at a minimum cost of at least $50 (least expensive panel). THE REAL PRICE OF THEIR DENTAL CLEANING and REQUIRED BLOOD WORK IS A MINIMUM OF $239.00. Therefore truth in advertising would dictate that their dental cleaning cost is a MINIMUM of $239.00 and NOT $189.00. Very dishonest in my protected opinion.Read Less

Wonderful first experience! I was very nervous, but they treated Owen just like he was my child. He is, so their caring attitudes and approaches are at the top of my priority list. The office staff was polite, professional, and attentive. The doctor was kind and explained his recommendations. Cost is important, but luckily not a determining factor for us. However, they took the time to give us an estimate to ensure we were comfortable with the plan and financials. My expectations are extremely high, and the entire team exceeded them. Veterinary medicine is a difficult business. It takes compassion as well as financial sense. Pets aren't free. The emotional toll it can take on veterinarians and technicians can be overwhelming. Tough conversations happen. It's not all puppies and kittens. I hope that my little Owen (who isn't little at all) brought light to them today. Thank you to your entire team. My pitbull is very hiper but they have so much patience for him. He's also very mean but he loves the staff and is never aggressive towrds them. The facility is always clean and never has a bad odor. Staff was friendly enough, but it was always a different vet whenever we went in, none ever seemed to stay. We took our dog in to have some fatty tumors removed, and it was a complete disaster! Although we were told to drop him off early in the morning, they didn't perform the surgery until late in the day, then sent him home with us still so sedated/drugged up that he couldn't walk (he was 85 pounds, not very easy to deal with). We thought he might die that night. Took him in for drain tube removal and suture removal; they missed more than half of the sutures, which were blue, on a cream-colored dog. They even missed the ones on his face! Six months later he developed an abscess at one of the surgical sites. I called them, and one vet was at a conference and the other was out sick, so none would be available for three days or more, so we had to take him to another veterinarian. It turned out that they hadn't removed one of the drain tubes; I pulled almost 4 inches of plastic tubing out of his side! Long story short, this ended up causing a systemic infection, which caused hind leg paralysis and, eventually, a need to euthanize our beloved pet. When contacted, they did refund us the money that we spent taking him to the other vet for the first visit. I will not return, nor recommend them to any other pet lovers.Read Less

Awesome place everyone is so kind!! It's one thing to tell owners what they want to hear ( like so many vets do). But Cape Coral Pets Vet tell you with meaning from the heart. While Tina And myself almost lost our Angus 1 year ago they were with us every step of the way. While he was in critical shape they took the lead with getting him checked into the hospital ,got daily reports, called us daily, and eventually did the final surgery that saved his life after finding his original diagnosis. Their billing department even pointed out overages from the hospital. They go to the extremes for our furry children to give them a great life. We will never use anyone else. After seeing a specialist, it was determined surgery was not a viable option. Our specialist recommended Laser Therapy as an alternative. After a bit of research we landed here to get more info. Robert & Betty F. We had adopted our kitten Synder when he was 6 months. He had already been neutered and up to dates on his shots and micro chipped. We had him declawed (front only) Indoor cat only, We choose Cape Coral Pet Vet, they were reasonable and took real good care of him. It was his 1st visit and he was good for the Tech. The Vet was great. She did an exam and blood work and said he was very healthy. The Vet took her time explaining the procedure and after care. The Tech also went over the aftercare. We had no problems after the surgery. They called after the surgery said he did well. They called 2 days later and gave us an update. He healed fast. He just had his yearly shots and office visit last week. We had no problem getting an appointment for the day and time that suited us. He had seen the male Vet this time. He is the ideal patient. Our cat feels comfortable there. The vet asked if we had any questions or concerns after he did the exam. We have recommended them to our son who has just moved back from Georgia. Prior to my visit I was concerned about the cost because I'm very tight on cash. Unfortunately I was misinformed about some of the charges upfront and this led to confusion when I received the bill from my boyfriend who took my dog in. I was also told that my dog would be seeing a new vet, and concerned that my dog received treatment that he didn't need I called to speak to someone about the charges. Perhaps my tone was all wrong because I was upset about the cost, but I don't think that's a good excuse to hang up on a brand new customer. I had a horrible experience with this vet.  They sent me to another vet for a second opinion and for expensive xrays and ultrasound they said they could not help me with.  He was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  This vet will not cancel out the $50 monthly fee from the plan I signed up with (2 dogs at $25 month).  They told me they cannot as I have to pay $50 a month until they get their exam fees back - WOW - exam for what?  misdiagnosis.  Again today $50 from my checking account from this terrible vet.  DO NOT take your animals here. They are invaluable to gaining & maintaining clients. My questions were patiently answered. I had many. The Dr's diagnosis was spot on to the results of the blood test next day. The options for treatments were clearly explained, with emphasis given to address any questions. Every question was answered with respect for my concerns and most importantly, for the well being of my newest 4 legged family member. The same for the 2nd visit for dental. A written estimate was provided & reviewed prior to services, giving financial costs for visit & testing options. I found the charges to be overall better than most. My dog has had some major medical issues in the last year and her diagnosis/treatment did not seem to be working so I felt my dog needed a second opinion. I am so glad I seen their advertisement in the mail. They were able to see my pet the same day I called, offered some very valuable insight on her condition the other vet hadn't even been concerned with--all without trying to push expensive surgeries or tests. They explained everything in depth, in a very honest and caring manner, and offered a more thorough, reasonably priced treatment plan.
