My dog was suddenly acting very aggressive and we were afraid we were going to have to put him to sleep. The doctor did a complete exam and blood work to make sure it was not a health issue and then we talked about behavior, stress, changes in the household that could contribute to his growling and biting at us. She recommended vitamin supplements and pheromones and even took him home for a couple days in order to observe him and reintroduce him back into our home. HE IS DOING GREAT NOW!! I have been bringing my dogs to this clinic since I moved here 6 years ago. Dr Young is the most caring and compassionate vet I have ever had. She treats every animal that comes through the door like it was her own. My dogs LOVE her! The staff there is always friendly and helpful. Dr. Young takes whatever time is necessary during your visit to explain what the treatment options are and to listen to any concerns you may have. She has even come to my house to give my dogs their yearly check-ups and vaccinations. I have recommended her to my friends and they now take their pets there too. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM!!!!!!!! I worked here for about 6 months & this place is a scam. They will lie about anything & everything to make themselves look good. I’m about to expose them. They have charged numerous people for things they have not actually done to the customers. (Such as: fake shots, they will charge you but not give it to the dog, aswell as exams.) They do not sanitize their equipment for surgery. They simply wash it with water til it comes clean from the blood that was on it. Also sad to say, when they put your dog or cat to sleep and do not get the pet cremated, they will put it in a huge trash bag & throw it the trash can. I cried when I saw it happen. They lie about everything & will tell you that none of this is true but I promise it is. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. Also James Harwood has punched several animals in the face because they looked like they were going to bite. ALSO. Cynthia Young has had her veterinary practice licenses taken away in many states many many times. You can look it up. They have had a HUGE police record history. They are withholding my last paycheck for no reason. Simply because I quit and did not want to continue to work with these lies anymore. I just hope no one brings their animals here. They will put your boarding pets in a cage that’s way too small, or if your pet is crying all day, James and Cynthia will fill up their food bowl & leave it outside their cage so they can’t eat. Some animals even try to bite through the cage and end up bleeding severely, but they won’t care. They just leave them & refuse to see if they are okay. Very happy with all of our visits. My pets have been to a few clinics since we used to travel but this clinic is by far the best clinic around! Dr. Young was amazing! UPDATE 8/15/17: Beware when posting your personal experience with this office. I was called at 8:06am today by a woman claiming to be Dr. Young. She accused me of jumping on a "band wagon" just to trash her name and business. She threatened to add my name to some lawsuit and claimed I lied in my review. (All untrue) I can remember what was said in a telephone call 3 hours beforehand and considering it was on speaker, so do the other people in the room with me. You listened fully & without interruption? You cut in before I could finish a single sentence. Instead of taking the original review as a whole (where I also mentioned good care) you chose to argue what could have just been small points to improve upon. Learn some people skills. If you had said..."Mrs Phillips, I was unaware that this happened and I am very sorry but I'd like you to know that person is no longer is employed by me" your effort may have been received in a different manner. Instead you basically called me a liar, accused me of trying to ruin you and threatened me with legal action. Calling me a liar doesn't make my statements untrue. YOU were not in your office to verify that I could not get an appointment & YOU were not in your office when I was refused my pets records so to call me a liar is utter lunacy. Anyone who knows me knows my word in this town in good. Considering I'm not the only one who has had issues with you, I'd say where there is smoke, there is fire. Original Post (edited): When my little chihuahua "Skeeter" started losing weight I took her to Dr. Young. The vet tech was very nice and seemed to care and the office fit us in that same day. Dr Young gave Skeeter a full exam. Skeeter was getting up in years and needed some supplements and glucosamine and she seemed to perk up and gain weight back. Move on in time and she is losing serious weight again so I stopped by one morning between 10-11am to see if I could get an appointment within a day or so. No one waiting to see the vet yet I was told by the man in the office that they could not fit Skeeter in for about 2 weeks. I contacted another vet a friend uses that could see her that afternoon and they faxed Dr Young's office asking for a copy of Skeeters records. Whoever was handling the office told the new vet that I had to come in to get the records so I called and was told the same thing. I dropped by that same day to get the records and the man behind the counter was quite rude and told me that the vet was not there but it was up to the vet to decide if she would release any records. I left a hand written note asking for the vet to call me... no one ever did. While it was all good on our first visit, I did not appreciate the rude and dismissive attitude I received from the man in the office about getting an appointment and obtaining Skeeters records when her health was failing at a rapid rate. The vet here is probably the nicest person you'll ever meet. She has worked with me with the dog I found in a ditch. She has done surgery on the little dog and not charged me a fortune. She even does house calls for no extra charge. Amazing. I can't say enough good about her. Read Less

She is considerate of the costs involved and attempts to come up with the most cost effective treatment while still giving my pet the best care available. We took our cat here three times explaining that he was losing weight. They looked him over a bit and sent us home. Said he was ocd and licked himself too much. Ok, so we use this hairball stuff and he won't throw up so much. The second visit because that didn't work, they say he's neurotic and maybe were moving too much furniture around or something making him uncomfortable. At this point his bones are very defined but, they say he's fine.... So the third time we take him, we have every test but an ultrasound done, still nothing turns up. We get sent home again. Some time later "a few weeks" our cat is in such bad shape, he's writhing in pain. We call this vet as soon as they open because we know he needs to be put out of his misery. My wife and I with tears in our eyes are told the doctor is very busy today and to give them a bit and they would call us back. So they call us back a few minutes later and leave a message while we're getting our pet ready. The message says the doctor says she's very busy today, that we should call our nearest vet locations to try to find someone. I called ONE place after this message, they were very busy too. Yet told us to come there immediately! We spent approximately 5-7 minutes bringing him in and out of that building..... So what I'm saying is, this place was happy to take around $1200 for scheduled visits for our Crash, but couldn't take 5 minutes to end his suffering. She gave our precious angel another four years of quality life after the emergency hospital had recommended putting her to sleep!!! Sadly she just lost her battle with kidney disease and Dr. Young was there at the end for her and us to ease her transition at our home. We are so upset with this practice. On Oct. 19th we brought our 4 dogs in for boarding. All were up to date on their shots. They took copies and it was agreed that three of the dogs needed fecals because it was more than 6 mos. Those, according to the lab report was done on Monday the 24th and they received the report on the 25th. They only tested two of the dogs and they both tested positive but when we picked them up that day they had not been treated even though we had authorized it. That afternoon our older male dog was coughing and it became worse and worse over the night. I called and was told the earliest they could see him was the next day. So we waited, all the while listening to him getting worse. Then on that Wednesday night our little female Yorkie started in with the same cough. We were 3 blocks away from the practice and 15 minutes from our appointment time when we got a call saying, "Geez, well the 'doc' wasn't feeling well and went home so we have to cancel your appointment, and I'm sorry it's so late to call but I got busy with washing dogs." Wait a minute, you got busy washing dogs was more important than me with two sick dogs? We called another vet who was kind enough to get ours in right away. They have run labs but it appears they have canine influenza. It has a 3-5 day incubation period, so they had to have been exposed while they were there for the 6 days. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take my dogs back there. After looking at the paperwork, the birthdates they have on their records is incorrect, their weight is wrong, ages are wrong. Who knows what else they have wrong and what my 4 went through. I thought I was doing the right thing with boarding at a Vet Clinic but don't take your animals there! I am now out $175.00 for the emergency vet visit and medications and last night another one came down with it....so probably more expense. And all I got was 'sorry'. SORRY, my dogs could have died! They treated them and were very knowledgeable about what was going on with them.They made our day and helped us out. What struck us was how much they care about the animals here. After the new owners took over, they tried billing me for a service that was several years old stating it had not been paid. After explaining to them that the debt had in fact been satisfied in barter for work done for the clinic and providing proof of the signed agreement of that bartered agreement, they continued to harass me and send me letters demanding payment.I then had my attorney contact them to tell them the bill had in fact been satisfied with the previous owner, again along with proof of said satisfaction. They continued to harass me for the money by sending me to collections.I then responded with a signed, notarized letter from the previous owner stating that the debt was not valid and that I carried no balance on my account. My lawyer also again sent them a letter informing them that if they continue to pursue the matter and continue with their harassment after being given solid proof, not once but now twice that I had no outstanding debt with the practice that we would gladly settle the matter in court. They finally ceased to contact me.They were relentless in their attempts to collect the money, even after providing proof that there was no debt owed. It took months to get the collections info off of my credit report afterwards. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. What a horrible experience. I first met the employees of this practice when I had to have my 17 year old dog euthanized. My husband had already brought our other dog (Teddy) there for a check up, but I had never been to the office. When I called I explained that I would prefer that they come to the house. They agreed to come to the house that day. Two employees (I assumed they were Vet Techs) arrived and the person that did the euthanization (Cindy) was very kind and understanding. It's always hard to get something like this done, but she made it so much easier. She took her time, and explained everything to me. I asked their names when they left, with the intention of leaving a review because I was so pleased that they made such a hard decision so much easier for me to deal with. Their names were James and Cindy, but needlesss to say, I never got around to leaving the review.Fast forward a few months, and I got a new puppy. I made an appointment to get her a checkup, and was totally surprised when Dr. Young came into the room and I realized she was 'Cindy' that had been at my home to euthanize my Shadow. She took her time checking the new puppy (Tobi), and was very thorough. I will be returning to get Tobi spayed soon, and I have the utmost confidence that she will be well taken care of.Overall, I am very pleased that we found this vet practice. The Vet Tech (Sierra) was very thorough, Dr. Young was fantastic, and all other employees I dealt with there were great! Prices seemed a little better than most places, office was very clean, and I am totally pleased that we have found a place we can bring our dogs with confidence that they will be well taken care of. I first went to see Dr. Young a few months ago. I have 5 cats and one dog, so as u can imagine I do go there often, lol. The staff is amazing, I always am greeted when I walk in the door, and so is my pet...by name! Dr. Young is cery personable and always has a smile and warm welcome and kisses for my fur-babies!! When I do have questions, she answers them ALL in great detail, and always gives me hand outs on whatever the topic may be, from heartworm prevention to allergies!!! So if I do forget any/all of what she said, I have the hand outs to refer to. I also know and trust that I can call and the staff is happy to help however they can. And usually gets back to me with an answer that very day, but if not always by the next.. I have had animals my while life, seen many veterinarians, and can honestly say, Dr. Young, is the most caring, sensitive, understanding,compassionate and passionate one by far!!! Love love love Dr. Young and her staff! My first meeting was a sad one, we can home from visiting family out if state and one of our dogs was breathing hard. We were not clients of Cape Veterinary but they had been the closest open vet. They took us right in and helped us. We found out our dig had tumors in his lungs, one which ruptured. The level of compassion we received was mind blowing. These people didn't even know us, yet still sat with us while we made the decision to stop Ozzy's suffering. Not just sat with us but held us, comforted us. I could go on. This place, these people, Dr. Young herself are the most wonderful people, anyone who says different must not have gone to her.
