We brought our mini pig here because he was acting weird, wouldn't eat or drink, and kept vomiting foam. We thought it had something to do with him getting into a bunch of French fries. This review is from our first visit on 02 April, 2016... My Daughter-in-law had set up an appointment to see DVM Cowden for laser treatments for our 12 year old Black Lab Coal.Our dog warmed up immediately to him and an exam,xray and a 12 point laser treatment for joint and pain relief. Overall we were very pleased with the attention given to us and our lab. Upfront with all diagnosis,DVM Cowden was very good,and with that, we maybe considering transferring services. After doing business with this vet over 14 years with 5 different pets, I WAS TREATED AS UNWELCOME TRASH TODAY (9/30/16). Yesterday I picked up a $28 half ounce bottle of an ear antibiotic for my dog, 3-5 drops per ear.. I have administered this Rx to my dog many times, plus being an RN I know about proper size nipples for drops versus a stream. Usually the medication is in the correct type bottle & nipple for the viscosity of the liquid. This time the nipple had an opening 2-4x the needed opening size. Needless to say, the watery liquid came streaming out very fast, the bottle didn't even needed to be squeezed as to give drops. I gave an example of the flow a their office, losing more antibiotic. At $56 an ounce it's expensive! Half the bottles' contents poured out due to the improper container & nipple. I don't expect to have to inspect the container for the proper size hole, the dispenser should know the correct nipple. All I asked the vet (himself) was to refill the bottle to the original level from a bulk supply he uses. ABSOLUTELY NO HE SAID!! Refilling it would cost him $5-10 wholesale cost, a small price to keep a longtime customer. 14 years as a customer with probably $3000 to $5000 spent for care & boarding meant nothing to him. I said I would block the credit card payment as I left. As I reached my car, from the entrance he yelled "DON'T COME BACK! YOU'RE NO LONGER WELCOME HERE ." It's easy to see he values all customers poorly even ones of 14 years. He won't admit a mistake was made as I was not notified of the nipple size being multi-fold bigger especially when previously the medication was correct. AVOID THIS VET CLINIC Read Less

Dr and staff very good team. All make you feel welcome. Dr. Cowden went above the call of duty with an adored sheepdog. Losing a faithful dog, any loved one, was handled so gracefully, creating a peaceful place in my heart that made the transition w/o my baby anymore. She had a long beautiful life and had no fear with Dr Cowden so near and dear. Dr. Cowden is still my fav vet as I am blessed with another dog that still sees him and will as long as we are blessed to be as well as this 5 star vet. Superior communication skills. Highly recommend Dr and staff. No disappointments, fees discussed and some discounts on social media. Ask them about discount and how to get it when you make an appt. Best Vet in Town!!! I've been going to Dr. Cowden for over 20 years. He is very knowledgeable and gentle with my animals and the whole staff is excellent! My cats are not afraid of him and every experience has been great. They are all animal lovers and it shows in the way they treat me and my cats. I felt the pricing was fair, but I brought Barney in for a dental cleaning, and when I picked him up, they told me he had a ear infection, but I'd have to make another appointment to discuss treatment.
