Worst vet clinic I've ever been to. They try to sell you meds and shots you don't need, do not listen when you say no, charge you for things you did not ask for, almost killed one of my dogs and when I returned with a listless dog who had a reaction from heartworm shot that I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY REACTION TO WATCH FOR , THEY SAID NO...Never apologized and while still unsure if my dog would survive, office wanted me to sign a slip saying they weren't responsible! Dr. Stenzel has been our vet for 6 years. We have a large breed dog, and he has always been warm, compassionate and great with not only our pet but with us as well. Our dog had to have emergency surgery a few years ago, and Dr. S did an amazing job with the situation. His staff is sweet and friendly, and we have always been able to get an appointment quickly. We have also boarded with them and have had a good experience each time. Lucky to have found Clearwater Animal Clinic, we can't imagine going anywhere else! Read Less

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Hasn't been the same since Dr Tutac retired. Dr Stenzel is more concerned with sports than his clients. Took my dog there and noticed after first visit she growled at one girl in particular who would come to take her. My dog has never shown aggressive behavior except when mistreated by someone. Took her to a different vet and they tried to get records from Clearwater. No shot records,not anything pertaining to her seizures. Way to keep records Doc. Also new vet can't seem to get records for my cat who is 13 and went to Clearwater since he was a kitten. Paid them to pull all of my cats teeth per Dr Stenzels recommendation and he still has a tooth! Place sucks. I'd leave zero stars if I could. My attorney will be calling about my cats records soon. I have been going to this clinic for over 20 years they are the best. I had 2 dogs that came down with Parvo. I took the youngest to the Emergency Vet on Belcher they ended up putting him down said he was so sick. I took the other dog here the next day they were able to save this dog and when asked where the other dog was I told they the Emergency Vets had put him down they said they could have saved him also. That was 5 years ago and My one dog is doing wonderful full recovery and I would not go to another vet after what they have done for us. I tell everyone to go to this vet. The Vets and technicians were all very kind the young lady at the front desk , with long wavy hair, we think her name is Melissa is so very friendly ad kind she always greets us and our Roxy with such kind words. Dr. Stenzel is great. He's cautious and honest, and I appreciate that. The staff here is beyond wonderful. I started coming here after a different vet recommended amputating my dog's foot due to an infection that they had a hard time treating. I came in and saw Dr. Stenzel, and 10 minutes and a culture later, we were leaving with antibiotics for a bacterial infection. No amputation needed. She has since passed, and I have taken in two dogs with behavioral issues. The girls here are wonderful - they're great with them, and they go out of their way to try and accommodate us. One of my biggest disappointments when I moved to Florida was leaving my vet behind, but I have found a wonderful replacement with Clearwater Animal Clinic. Thank you guys for all you do! Read Less

It's a veterinarian version of a puppy mill. The doctors spend no time with you assisting your pet. The turn around time is ridiculous, as is the care. My dog was fixed there, they left stitches in him. I brought my cat in for blaster problems. They found no blood in the urine, and sent him home . He was bleeding out 5 days later,even on the pills they gave him. Plus he's coughing. I found a vet on court st. She cares. She knew what to do right away, the place is clean and caring. I have a sister that has gone to many vets over the years. She complained about everyone of them like she knew more than they did. Sounds like some of the people on here that have given bad reviews. I have three dogs and a cat and I have been taking my animals to Clearwater Animal Clinic for years. Dr. Stenzel and Dr. Charpantier are professional, knowledgeable and very kind to the animals. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. Dr. Stenzel has no respect or professionalism. We brought in our ill pet and in our two visits there, we left feeling he had no care for the well-being of our pet or compassion for the pet owner. He does not introduce himself, nor took any time to listen to our questions or concerns. He referred to our pet as "the animal" and berated his vet tech in front of us. It was very disappointing because our pet still needs medical care. I paid their fees and I left. He was not able to give a diagnosis unless we proceeded with more testing because they wanted more money. Walked out before we saw the veterinarian. The vet tech was completely unprofessional. My dog and I were brought to the room, the tech took him back with out even introducing her self or asking why he was there. Brought him back for vitals, heard them talking negatively in the back about my pup, she then brought him back. Then came back 2 minutes later and dragged him away saying she needed a urine sample. Mind you I still don't know her name, she hasn't asked me why I am there, nor had we seen the doctor for him to asses and come up with a practice plan also, my dog was small enough to be picked up rather than dragged away. After she came back with him I walked out of the office as I refuse to pay for a office visit without the vet seeing him or the tech actually asking why we were there. She was going by what the lady on the phone wrote down when I made my appointment and I am not even sure what she wrote down. It might be a cheaper clinic but you definitely get what you paid for. I have been going to this Vet group for over 10 years with 4 different dogs. They are not only excellent clinicians, they are also a very compassionate group. Jessica at the front desk is always in a great mood! Which brings me to my next point, whoever rates this Vet with one or two stars needs to see a neurologist and have their head examined!!! I wouldn't have even given one star but you have to just to let people know. If consider your pets FAMILY then you see how many horrible things are being said About these people AND FOR.GOOD REASON. They treated my cats horribly and thought it was funny. it was not only terrible to watch but shuttering to see them laugh while doing it and when I spoke out against what they were doing they had a bad attitude. Also when my cat of 15 years was dying they had me making the decisions and quickly. Obviously im going to want you to bring her back.... They brought her back 4 times until she was brain dead and I had to tell them to put her down anyway.. Please don't risk your animals life just to go here out of convenience or low prices, I use to volunteer here, I also took all 6 of my animals here. I couldn't stand it any more the reason there rates are so low is because the have the techs doing stuff that the doctors BY LAW should be doing, they had me doing stuff at 16 that only 18 yr Olds should be doing BY LAW, the TECHNICIANS are doing surgery, even did surgery on my dog, and they all acted like it was normal, I've seen them take big dogs that were to scared to control (for all the right reasons) and instead of sedating them to a comfortable level they take them to the back in a different room and tackle the dogs down and have 3 people sit on them while the TECHNICIANS stab multiple times trying to pull blood or give vaccines in the SQ area of the dogs while the doctors watch and laugh and they give them pointers, and everytime as I watched the dogs struggle to breath and almost die. If I said anything to try to get them to stop they would just insist on me to help and laugh. So many animals that can be hurt and misdiagnosed, and so many who have. I couldn't bare it any more so I finished my volunteer hours and left, I even considered working there but then I realized there are better hospitals that have low prices to treat your animal 3000% better. I know quite a few technicians that couldn't stand it any longer either and left. I only tell you this because as a pet owner, my pets are family to me and I would want to know if I was making the right decision. My idea of a vet is someone who truly cares about there patients and that will go above and beyond for each and every patient and work the absolute hardest to get you the answers you need, I'm glad I found that place. This place is terrible. Brought my puppy twice, never again. I strongly recommend staying away from this place. Went in on Tuesday and after being seen an hour after my appt was scheduled my dog was prescribed ivermectin - the same day they sold us our trifexis (never mentioned the two together were deadly). We spent the next day and night at the emergency vets as my pup wouldn't eat, drink, get off the couch. I spoke with the manufacturer of Trifexis and was advised there should he a 30 day wash between using those products. This vet wanted my dog on ivermectin for 60 days, while on Trifexis. He has no idea what he is talking about. If you care about your pet - stay away from this office. Read Less

We recently changed vets after our cat has seen so many for the same problem that was never fully diagnosed. The staff was very pelasant and the doctor afetr the complete exam finally found the problem on my cat. She is now bck to normal and I could not be happier! They answered all my questions and returned all my phone calls. The tech were always giving me updates twice a day while she was in the hospital. It was a very smooth and great experience all around. Dr Stenzel and his staff are the best their is!! I would not trust any other vet, but him, to take care of my two Maltese. He always has a smile to give, and his staff is also great, and so very helpful. This place is the best every. There is no where else I would take my dog. The vets are extremely compassionate and caring. The staff are great too. I am so pleased with all the care Tutak has taken with my pet. He saved her life and I really don't think any other vet could have done what he did. He operated on her and did not release her until he knew she was ready and ok to go home. I still have my pet all because of Tutak. He really knows his stuff when it comes to the dogs.
