Riverside animal Hospital is the best I've been to since living here since 1987. The staff and doctors are excellent. Pricing is on target considering many animal hospitals charge a high price point. This is such a great vet. The staff is so friendly and helpful. There have been multiple times our little furbaby needed to see the doc asap and they squeezed us in as soon as they could. My dog is very shy and skittish around new people (she's a rescue) and they work so well with her. They are very calming with both of our dogs and they are fantastic at what they do. I have never felt so comfortable dropping my kitty off anywhere as I have with Riverside. The staff is SO NICE and so good with my kitty! Dr Payson retired and since have been unhappy with the service provided by the other doctors. Use to be so great with Dr Payson, but unfortunately the new dr there told me my dog had oral cancer and quoted me over 900$ for surgery that included biopsy. I got a second opinion, it was a harmless skin tag and got a dental done elsewhere for under 300$. Money does not matter when it comes to my pet, however I refuse to be taken advantage of with unnecessary procedures and recommendations. Read Less

I started going to Riverside almost 2 years ago when I was unable to get an appointment at a larger, well known vet for days. At the time, my senior dog had a massive hot spot (full face) and required same day attention. They took me right away and I've had nothing but amazing experiences with them ever since. Ok.... I am really picky with vet services. I live in Coral Springs and truly mess Stetzer animal services. I have gone from vet to vet since he left the area! I've not been a big fan of Riverside Animal Hospital, because I only like some of the doctors. Dr. Dawson rocks! He is the closest to Stetzer that has ever existed in Coral Springs since he closed his practice here! I have five rescue dogs, so charges are always a big issue. I've had two major issues in two weeks, of which he has proved to be a doctor of heart, not of money! Thank you Dr Dawson and I hope you stay there. I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Let me start off by saying i am in the medical field , and i have NEVER expierienced such a selfish/money hungry office in my life, well While i was out of town for my family members funeral my cat wasnt eating & had thrown up twice , when i got home unfortunately i had another funeral to go to as soon as i got in town, but i was worried about my cat first and foremost , so i rushed her to this place, PLEASE NOTE that i got there at 3:04pm they closed at 3:00pm, the doors were unlocked , all staff was still there as well as the vet. I explained to them what was happening & that im really tight on money , i didnt tell them why , but someone stole my credit card info from a gas pump and stole 500.00 from my bank account, anyways , i wanted & needed their HELP. & i asked what they could do for me & how much it would be , they went and asked the vet if my cat could be seen and she told me since it was NOW 6 MINUTES after they closed they would have to charge me am "EMERGENCY FEE" of $150.00 . Ehich was explained to me as if i didnt have common sence, and in a very demeaning mannor, as if she knew i couldnt pay that , and was happy i was leaving. No They did not care that my animal needed help. VETS LIKE THIS ONE WHO ARE MORE WORRIED ABOUT MAKING A DOLLAR THAN HELPING PEOPLE. I have rescued a total of 4 cats in my life time & donate to animal hospitals all over & places like this MAKE ME SICK. These animals are our FAMILY, and im STILL lookong for a vet that actually remembers WHY THEY BECAME A VET IN THE FIRST PLACE. Read Less

I went to see Dr Crance for my 8 year old Male Boxer. His name is Romeo. Romeo had a Perineal Hernia. That needed to be repaired asap. We were also in a middle of Irma the Huricane that we just had here in Florida. Dr Crance. Called up his surgeon to assist him in this surgery . I can not tell u more than when I left my Romeo with him I felt very secure he is truly the Best Vet there is out there , He is very caring person and treats u and your family member as if they we...re his owne . I also have to Mention Gail She was the one that got me in so quickly to see the Dr . Romeos surgery went 100%. Good. I am very pleased with everything how it all went . We love Dr. Crance! He's so wonderful and ethical. He took care of my male cat and did all of his surgeries, all of which went over without any complications. My old boy recovered beautifully and in record time. When I recently adopted a kitten, I took her to Dr. Crance for his expert laser surgery, and again she recovered fast and without any complications. Not only is he very skilled, he's also very logical and practical. He's never recommended anything extra, and instead he often recommends less expensive options and common sense alternatives. The dr and staff are outstanding. While my fur buddy didn't make it. It was not for the dr. Not trying. We had to take him in the middle of the night to another animal hospital where he passed away. If I could rate lower I would. After having a bad experience with my second dog I decided to go back one more time and give another chance . I had the newer doctor Dr.Dawson and my mom took my oldest dog in after having cancer for many years as she was suffering and it was time. The doctor was so rude and made her feel so bad for putting her down. We love our dogs and it's not an easy decision to put a dog down, we showed up already crying only to be interrogated by the doctor and making us seem like monsters for doing this and how he can fix my dog and she can live for another 6 months and no.. I know my dog I did not come here because I thought it was something small my dog could not breathe eat walk and she was suffering. I have two small but loud Yorkies! We go to Riverside Animal Hospital usually just for their bi-annual check ups. We love them! First, since my little guys bark their heads off at any animal that crosses their path, they put us in a private room immediately! The wait for a vet is never very long! I was highly impressed with their commendations and treatments. I went in because my dog had a eat hematoma. I was expecting my bank account to be drained after this but to my surprise the money was not bad at all. The price for the checkup by the vet was around 50 dollars. We had her nails trimmed ears cleaned and drained as well as 3 different perscription meds for my dog, one of which was flee meds for 60 dollars I didn't have to get. The total cost of everything was 200 dollars, not bad considering what other nearby vets wanted to charge me and what all I got out of it. The staff was very friendly always keeping my dog happy with treats, I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet as they are very accommodating and fair priced. Read Less

Dr Payson unfortunately retired from Riverside Animal Hospital and because of such; there is no reason to ever go back to this hospital. I reluctantly decided to go to the office with a visit with their new vet Dr. Hannwacker. Upon arrival to the office, one of the three receptionists who happened to check me in and out was extremely rude and unwelcoming. As soon as I walked in and approached the front, she said, "Do you have an appointment?" I replied yes and gave my dog's name. She asked if I was a new client and I told her no but I haven't been to the office in a few years (isn't this information in your computer?). So she gave me some paperwork to fill out (without a pen - but luckily I had one on me). After I updated the client information I was called back to an exam room "Ma'am come this way". The exam room was clean (they charge you a standard "biohazard" fee of 5$ for room cleaning, without the use of needles) and the tech that came in to get my dog's weight and temp was very friendly and nice. The Dr. came in and I explained to him I was there because I knew my dog needed a dental and had to come in for an exam prior.  He looked over my dog's BW from a few months back and stated it was fine. He then examined my pet's mouth and saw a small growth on the gum near the back molars. He then stated " wow that does not look good". Very concerned by his immediate reaction, I inquired for more information. He stated the growth would have to be removed with a scalpel during the dental and sent out for a histopath. He said that growths are sometimes benign but because of the location and color of the growth - he would send it out and upon the results we could "then discuss options for your dog".  He was such an alarmist I proceeded to leave the office very upset. I checked out with the same girl who had checked me in (there was no communication between herself and the Dr what I would need to schedule surgery for my dog and which he was stating could be a cancerous growth). After I paid for the visit ($59! For a regular routine exam), the receptionist says, "You're all set". I told her I would like to schedule sx for my dog and asked for an estimate stating they could call me back whenever was convenient. She scoffed and stated "dentals are usually $360". I went on to explain a growth removal would be included and she cut me off " I cannot give you an estimate on a growth removal". I then added how the Dr rec. the growth be sent out for a histopath and I would like to know how much to expect. She scuffed again and said she would speak with the Dr and call me back, stating again "you're all set". I said thank you and proceeded to put my wallet in my purse and untangle my dog's leash, less than 1 minute and she states AGAIN "YOU'RE ALL SET"! So rude!! Being pregnant and being that my dog is a family member more so than a pet, I left the office in tears and very concerned. I proceeded to get a second opinion from another office- who stated the growth was DEFINITELY not cancerous and was merely a gingival hyperplasia. They also quoted me (without me asking) 400$ about for removal and dental. When I called back Riverside to cancel sx and said I was going elsewhere, they then gave me the estimate of over $700 from Dr Hannwacker! Please stay far away from this vet and go elsewhere. I recently started seeing Dr. Payson at the Riverside Animal Hospital, at the recommendation of two very long-time friends, who are serious animal lovers who demand the best.Dr. Payson and staff, , are very knowledgeable,  professional, friendly and attentive, as they helped  me with my recently diagnosed diabetic cat.  He  has always returned calls promptly,  as well as fitting us into the schedule, sometimes on the spur of the moment, due to my cat's health complications.This doctor has years of medical experience and his staff has been with him forever, which is always a good sign.  And they are priced very fairly for what they do, as well.  I am happy to report that my cat is gradually getting better as we are controlling his insulin, but I could not have done it without him.Update: June 2015    Unfortunately, Dr. Payson has now retired and because he was the one in the practice that we depended on, we have now ended up going elsewhere after he retired.  I will report on the new facility when I get a minute. Don't ever underestimate how important experience is. Dr. Payson was able to quickly narrow down and confirm what was happening to my very sick cat. I have lived in several cities with many pets and I can honestly say that Dr. Payson is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate Vets I have ever gone to. Took my dog in there first thing this morning, and must say the staff was great! My dog was a little behind on her shots and had lapse in heart worm preventative but is very healthy.... I've heard of vets harshly lecturing on this so I was a little nervous but instead the vet kindly told me she understood and gave me a little more information (I lost my job 6 months ago, but first week back at work I brought her in). Looked over our charts from NY throughly and took her time asking if I had any questions or concerns. Very happy to find a great vet here in FL!!! Will surely recommend them! Read Less
