I've been very pleased with the services we recieve here.  During a recent emergency situation we showed up unannounced at the beginning of the working day.  I was greeted with kindness and the staff exhibited obvious concern for the emergency at hand.  My pet was promptly treated and kept in their care until the emergency was resolved. A friend of mine took their cat here today after he had been hit by a car. In this emergency situation, they were forced to wait in the lobby for 2.5 HOURS before being examined. He later found out the cat’s back was broken. They forced Harley to sit in agony for almost 3 hours!!!!Read Less

This is the best vet office I have ever been to. The staff there are all wonderful and make you feel so special and they treat every animal in there with sincere love. I believe Dr. Taylor is amazing. I have a 4 lb puppy that I bought and found out she had pneumonia. The outcome did not look promising but Dr Taylor started her on an aggressive treatment in an attempt to save her. She is progressing but still in the woods. Although he was honest from the beginning and t...old me there was a good chance she would not recover, I felt there was some hope knowing she was under the best care available. I honestly don’t feel that she would have even had a chance anywhere else. Regardless of the outcome, I will be forever grateful for all that they did for me and my puppy. I read a review with somebody complaining about the wait but as far as I am concerned I would wait there all day rather than go someplace else where my animals would not get the care they deserve. We went in yesterday to put our 18 yr cat she was with us since a kitten, so The clinic lit a candle for her, very nice gesture. The red haired lady behind the counter was so insensitive when she she said right in front of us that the candle gives her a headache. I've never met another vet quite like Dr Taylor. He has a heart for animals and treats them with the utmost love and respect. He cared for my mini pig as if she were his very own. He didn't try to hurry through the treatment and explained everything so I understood. Gave me the good with the bad. Even though it was a dangerous procedure, his expertise made the procedure a complete success. He even knows how to put jumper cables on so you can start your car with a dead battery! The staff here are very courteous and patient. My dog does NOT like her feet touched. I believe it stems from an injury that occurred before I was lucky enough to call her mine. Our local non profit vet wouldn't attempt it due to her anxiety level,which would've doubled if muzzled. Well the folks here have NO problem doing it. My 9 year old English Bull dog has allergies and had been treated by several vets yet continued to scratch and lick his paws. Dade city vet clinic was recommended and another opinion was welcomed. Dr Hart gave him a combination of drugs and for the first time in five years my dog is not scratching himself or licking his paws. Let me explain my experience. This is the only vet nearby willing to care for my 7 month potbelly. I was stoked to bring her there because it is just adorable in that building and the ladies at the desk were so friendly. Well I dropped off my pig by appointment at 7:30am as soon as they opened their doors. Pepper, my pig, was there to get her hoofs trimmed up. She’s not walking on her hoofs correctly and I am hoping they’ll let me watch and learn but they said they were too busy.. So she’s there for an hour or so and they call to tell me they want to remove her tusks since she is already sedated. (Sedation was required for them to do the hoof care) Being a vet, I trusted their opinion and gave them permission. So I pick her up at 10am. It’s $95. So I go in the front and pay but I have to pull around back to pick her up. So I do. She’s still knocked up from sedation so I lay her in the car and get home to assess her and she is limping horribly. Her back legs have rashes near her hoofs. I can only assume they used a dremel and hit her leg because they were not being careful. Her nose is dark so I wipe it and it’s dry blood. They sent my pig home limping, covered in her own blood from the risk removal and with scratches and didn’t mention one thing to me about how it went. I’m very disappointed. I counted on the VET. My poor girl.... she’s so sad and can barely walk.. I’m definitely giving them a call tomorrow. I didn’t want to complain, I figured yeah they suck I won’t go back, but to watch my poor baby pig in so much pain all day I have to call back tomorrow and make sure they’re aware of her problems. The more I think about it the more angry I am. They didn’t even tell me of any after care for tusk removal. I’ve been researching it since it’s been done to find recovery info and everything says not to remove them. So now I’m just frustrated and angry with this place. Maybe they will be able to explain tomorrow but I doubt there is any reason the sleeping pig should have marks on her legs and blood all over her face. Read Less

We love this vet! They are a wonderful group of people from the front desk, to the vet techs, to the vets themselves. We have left there every time with the feeling that they do their jobs for the love of animals, our babies, not for how much they can get our of your wallet. "Lily" seems to like the kennel there and I've found the staff to be friendly and courteous.The overnight boarding fee is very reasonable and includes food, unless special diet and/or medicine needs must be delivered. They recently added a 3-hour Sunday afternoon window to pick up so that makes it even more reasonable as well as convenient for me. Overall it's a great place to be. Kind staff, great vets and great service. They really care about helping your animals there and really know what they're doing. They make sure to keep their treat bowls filled for all your pets. It's just an extremely long wait just to get your pet back in to be evaluated. If you don't go during the week and you go on Saturday, expect at least a 2 hour wait before your pet is even called back. Read Less

People from East Pasco know that the Dade City Animal Clinic hasn't always been as big as it has grown to now. It was a wee little building that Dr. Smalley had his practice and had a young man named Chet Taylor assist him. Altho I am no expert on how the business passed to Chet, I assume he bought it from Dr. Smalley, who retired. Well, it became obvious with the growing number of clients that Dr. Taylor had to expand to accommodate the huge number of animals that began coming to him for medical care. He came up with the plan and had the Dade City Animal Clinic built with great care with roomier kennel space and a more convenient waiting area for his clients and their people owners. Dr. Taylor realized he needed help and has always hired very qualified vets to assist him. I remember at one time he even had a vet on call for emergencies on a Sunday when my two dogs, Fred and his companion, Dachsie were hit by a deputy's cruiser on Howard Ave. The vet on call came and stitched Fred's scalp together as he was bleeding from his head to the point of unconsciousness. Dachsie was smaller and not so lucky. As a customer, I have been a pain sometimes, bringing animals in who were no longer alive, but as they felt warm to the touch having found them hit on Howard, I have brought them to Dr. Chet. His reply was: please only bring in animals who are still alive. I know I can do good things for them, but I can't bring them back from the dead.
