I agree with the post previously from Total turnkey. Again one star because that's the only way someone can post to this review. When it comes to the end of life for your fur baby you wanted to be as easy and compassionate as it can be for your child. It appears that compassionate doctors in the veterinarian class of doctors is getting far and in-between. I certainly hope that the veterinary schools will start teaching compassion to their students that will eventually be taking care of people's children! Read Less

POSTED SUNDAY- 6/10/18: I HOPE YOU WILL READ THIS REVIEW. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE SHERIDAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL EVER AGAIN! AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO BOYCOTT THIS PLACE. I am the proud mother of 3 fur babies. One of my babies is a female Persian cat. I have been taking all 3 of them to Dr. Bob at Sheridan Animal Hospital for the past 4 years. Two years ago Dr. Bob told me that my kitty needed to see a specialist since she had been losing weight and was crying out and seemed to be in distress. We thus began the journey that would eventually lead us to The Animal Cancer Care for treatment for Lymphoma. We watched our baby girl go through chemotherapy and still she kept getting worse. So with our hearts broken we made the difficult choice to help her slip across the bridge where she could find some peace from all her pain and suffering. We went to Sheridan Animal Hospital and asked for a referral for a doctor that would come to our home and assist us with the hardest choice we ever have to make for our fur babies. We set the appointment for today at 4:00 PM. We contacted the Cancer Center and arranged to pick up enough Sub Q fluids and pain medication to help keep our baby girl comfortable through today. On Saturday- June 9th -we gave her the first Sub Q fluid treatment- but what we didn't realize was that the needle had gone completely through her skin and all of the fluids had emptied into her bed! We were devastated! We knew we had to get another syringe of fluids quick! We administered the other syringe of fluids and then ran over to The Sheridan Animal Hospital as fast as we could as we knew they closed early on Saturday. When we got there and explained what we needed we were asked to wait for the doctor on duty- her name is ironically- Doctor Love. When she heard through the receptionist what we needed- she gave us an emphatic NO- because she said that our kitty had not been seen at their office within the last year. (However- they always were copied on the reports from the internist and the cancer specialist) Again- through the receptionist! She never came out to speak directly with us. There were other people in the lobby and they all expressed how wrong this treatment was. Dr. Love showed no love for a sick and dying kitty...that had been treated at this Vet's office...that had provided a source of income for the people who work there- who are supposed to be committed to providing the best care they can for their patients. When we returned home I called the office and asked the receptionist to contact Dr. Bob and have him call me. I foolishly thought that would happen- but it didn't. The other people who witnessed our encounter agreed that we should have been sold the fluids. Dr. Love added much more stress to our already highly stressful situation. Because of her poor judgement and complete lack of compassion I drove 60 miles to get the fluids I needed from a Vet that had never even seen our kitty before. Dr Bob never called. Dr. Love never called. THEY SHOWED ME THAT THEY SIMPLY DON'T CARE. Yes- my kitty was dying so there would be no further expenditures for her. But I still have my two young dogs and in time i'm sure there will be additional fur babies added to our family. BUT NONE OF THEM WILL EVER AGAIN BE EXPOSED TO THIS IN-COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR LOVE! I am confident we will find another skilled and caring vet. If you agree that end of life care and compassion are extremely important qualities in your vet then I recommend that you keep looking and stay away from Dr. Love! for 37 years I have looked for a vet to replace doc and have had no luck. (typing 1 handed) so I think about him on every trip to the vet (living in another state). why? multiple vets diagnosed multiple dogs belonging to multiple owners with giardia. no one could get rid of it because it wasn't giardia and the wrong meds were prescribed. doc diagnosed it correctly and cared enough not only for his patients, but their owners to get out the text books and microscope. he not only explained the how's and why of the misdiagnoses but showed me it to me under the microscope and compared it to the texts. I told the other owners that had been battling this pest for months and they told their vets, problem was solved. I have lived in multiple cities and been to multiple vets, but I this is by far the best experience I have ever had with a vet. Dr. Raymond was amazing. My dog is normally nervous at the vet but she jumped right up on him when he walked in. He sat there with me and patiently explained all of my options rather than just automatically scheduling me to pay for every vaccine out there (which is definitely what I'm used to). I love this hospital!! I have three dogs that i take here and all of Sheridan's employees are extremely helpful and take care and love in their work. Dr. Bob and Dr. Kadish saved my cat's life. I had been going to a vet in Miramar and for about two years, this guy/vet would see our cat and say "Hmmmm. I can't seem to figure out why your cat has lost/can't hold weight." Meanwhile my poor pet was suffering. So, after moving to Hollywood and after one day my cat just looking like he was suffering, I found Sheridan Animal Hospital. Was able to get an appointment that day - as soon as Dr. Kadish saw my cat, he asked me did he have thyroid problems. I had no idea. They did blood work and found out his thyroid levels were through the roof and he had other problems caused by the hypothyroidism. For a few months after the initial diagnosis, I had emergency situations and Dr. Bob and staff REALLY accommodated us - once the entire team waited for us to arrive close to closing time to deal with vomiting and dehydration. (Took some time to get the appropriate protocol together). Dr. Bob even cleans my cat's teeth (what he can get to) without charging us... It's been almost a year and my cat has put on 3 pounds, looks and feels amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Sheridan Animal Hospital... Great team. Dr Evan Kadish is very uncaring vet. I had my dog in kennels when he was the owner of Lantana-Atlantis animal hospital and when I picked my dog up - he was nearly dead. It took us 3 months to get him healthy again. Read Less

We moved here 3.5 years ago with one house cat and by pure luck, we moved into an apartment next to Sheridan Animal Hospital. That kitty has since passed, but our current 3 Dogs and 3 cats (hey, we didn't plan it that way, it just happens!) receive the best of care here. Dr. Raymond is the friendly hometown vet you want to take your pet to! I've taken my pup here for routine vaccines and a random sickness and each time he was very courteous, timely and professional. He always takes the extra minute to explain exactly what he's doing so you'll walk away from the visit with a bit more confidence about your pet's care/health. Very reasonable rates. We moved to Fort Lauderdale almost 2 yrs ago and we have been through some hard times with our fur kids and finding a great vet. We love these people. It starts with phone conversations as they are always.. always friendly and talking with a smile. Then theirs the two wonderful doctors that are super sweet and always listening to our questions and concerns. They have been outstanding. A huge thank you to these vets!   I had been going to River Run in Miramar and my poor cat had been seen by the vet there at least three times in the past year.  Each time, he'd comment on my cats weight loss, his low grade temperature, his "dirty" ears, and his tooth - but never offered a solution.My poor cat hadn't felt well recently.  I got up at 5am Monday morning to find a vet close to our home in Hollywood and found Sheridan Animal Hospital. Called the next day and literally got in 20 minutes later.  Immediately upon laying eyes on my cat, Dr. Kadish asked me if my cat had a thyroid problem. My previous vet NEVER once asked me that.  Nor did he ever do blood tests. Dr. Kadish said based on visual observations of being underweight, the low grade temperature, ear infection, etc. he guessed there was a thyroid issue - which blood tests confirmed.   On a scale of 0.8-4.6, my cat was at 10.4!  My poor cat has been suffering bc of the incompetence of the previous vet.  Dr. Bob consulted with me on the options to treat the thyroid issue.  And I am happy to report that after 3 days of meds for the ear infection and thyroid problem, my cat is showing significant improvements. I'm so happy I found Dr. Bob at Sheridan Animal Hospital. The vet is about 2 minutes away from our house, so its very convenient. But that's not why we go there. The doctor is very nice, and very invested in the well being of my dog. He is genuinely interested in how he's doing, and if he's made any progress. So he comes to the phone, and if busy, returns all of my calls. He's also very knowledgeable, and tries to resolve issues without having me go broke, which I truly appreciate.Thanks Dr. Bob! Mom and pop vet clinic. Since this is my preference of service this place worked well for me because I live nearby.They don't accept payments, however if you get CareCredit (took me 5 mins to get online literally right before I went to clinic) you could make payments that way and there is no interest charged for 6months.Front desk: quick and easy. My receptionist knew exactly who I was because again this is a mom and pop so not too many calls!! Service: professional. I did not wait long at all for the doctor to come check on my pet. He handled him with care and I did feel he cared about his well being....I've had experiences where I feel like I'm on a conveyer belt....NEXT!!Price: negotiable. I research everything so after finding out a general price on my pets issue I came in and heard my doctor out on prices. Stating the competing prices he was willing to work on something comparable and that's something i like. Yes, I'm sure they have a set price, but let's be realistic...people can go anywhere so compete with your price and you will get returns...good or bad service. This, fortunately, is good service.I am going to make this my clinic. Feels like home and feels like they care. Fair prices and easy location to find right next to the apartments on Sheridan.
