I've been to this clinic a few times now. It had some bad reviews but I thought I'd give it a try. I've been a client of Banfield for about15 yes. The first vet I saw here spent 5 minutes with me before he had the vet techs rush me out to pay. I didn't even realize that he didn't give me the results of their wellness checks. After that I tried scheduling with a different vet who I absolutely love. She listens to my concerns and gives me answers until I'm satisfied. So I definitely suggest trying different veterinarians at this location if you have had a bad experience with anyone. Read Less

Save your money they almost killed my dog. Was with them for 3 yrs and when they miss diagnosed my dog. I quit going there and then they took me collection for remainder of the year they said I owed. Don't waist your time. Read Less

The one time I had ny dog checked it was an emergency. Our normal vet is further away and we needed a vet asap. The doctor saw her immediately but did not evaluate correctly. The doctor came to the room and had no bed side manners. She told us our dog would not make it. They did not have the equiment to attend to her. All they did was give her a shot. We then rushed to the emergency room in dundee. There the doctor saw her evaluated her and saved her life. There was no major equiment needed. She had a blood test down and found out her glucose dropped and needs and iv tap. That is something banfield should have been able to do. I left banfield im tears thinking my dog was going to die. I have been using Banfield Pet Hospitals for decades. I have utilized the wellness plans on all of my pets.  I have never had a need to go to a separate veterinarian unless there was specialty care involved and even then it was coordinated by Banfield. I believe the staff truly care about my pets, and their care and concern is supported by competent veterinarians and techs.  I never have an issue scheduling appointments or getting in on an emergency. Banfield pet hospitals are one of the worst places to go. They tell you inaccurate information when transferring records and prescribed medications; I'm so furious right now that I can't get the recommended prescribed medication for my fur baby until Sunday or possibly next week. Sad to see some of the reviews and some what shocked. I know in general people are iffy with Banfield as a whole. There is no gray area with them. You either love them or you don't.With this particular location I've been bring my dog for 2 years now. She's had her shots, teeth clean, nails file etc treated here a d I have never had an issue. From the receptionist ,to the techs and doctors I'm pleased.Having my dog on a wellness plan definitely is helpful too. Knowing I can bring her in when ever with out having to pay an office visit fee every time is great. I'll be putting my new rescue on a plan as well. Read Less

My akita was showing very odd symptoms: eyes flickering back and forth, couldn't stand up; he was punch drunk too. I called the vet on Sat. for an emergency Sun. apt. The phone girl had an attitude and I needed to speak with someone else. They said I would only be able to drop off by 11 and pick up at close. When I asked to speak with the vet prior to discuss symptoms and concerns they said no, I wouldn't be able to. That alarmed me then, I didn't know if he hurt his hip and if that was causing the issues due to pain and stress. When I went to get him of course they billed me then. When I spoke with the vet she said the staff never told her about his symptoms, specifically the eyes flickering. I was about to go a bit postal when she said that because that's why I wanted to speak with the vet prior. By the time I got home a euthanasia vet returned my call and he said he had vestibular disease and not to panic, he should be fine within 2 weeks. Now a bit at ease, I can now effectively comfort him through his spells. When I called the vet back expaining my dissatisfaction with their services the tech wanted to get defensive and make it a bit personal. I told them at the end of the day it's not the money, it's the principle and he agreed to have the manager call. 3 follow ups later and I called the corporate to file a complaint. When I told the tech he had vestibular, the tech said no he didn't to avoid any responsibility for not even diagnosing my dog properly. I put the dog on motion sickness pills and that helped tremendously. The following day the vet called and agreed it was vestibular disease and that the meds I gave him were the correct meds and tried to reassure me it would get better in a few weeks. I don't hold the vet fully responsible because it seemed to be bad policy, bad front desk service and bad tech help but at the end of the day the vet is in charge. I'll admit his condition made me panic and needing an emergency visit on a Sunday made banfield/petco look like a viable solution to my problem, in hindsight I should have used more common sense and avoided petco altogether. A few hundred dollars later I am still disturbed but my dog is stable and seemingly doing better. I would not return there and would advise against dropping your dog off with out speaking directly to the vet yourself. My dog's distress made me compromise my values and at the end of the day banfield was a big disappointment. Read Less

My husband and I bring our cat Olivia here and they're always so loving to her. They treat her like a Queen and they're so gentle with her and it means the world to me. I had to get my puppy spayed and this was the only affordable way to do it plus shots. Do I like this place... Not really... is it ok... just a bit. My puppy hates this place which I am sure all puppies do. The reason why I don't care for this place is because every time I go I feel like the vet is pushy and can be rude at times. I felt pressured to purchase some pills that I didn't even have to buy and when I called to return it they told me I couldn't. After my dog was spayed when I went to pick her up she was wet but I couldn't figure out why but then I realized that she had pooped on herself and of course she still had pooped everywhere all they did was wet her. Poor thing looked cold and sad. Again the ONLY reason I have a year with this place is because of the shots and the spayed. After a year I am OUT!Oh and the groomers are now wayyyyyyy to expensive for such a small dog. Read Less

This place did an excellent job on getting my newly adopted pet happy and healthy. Also they were able to assess my other pet's needs and detect potential problems. They kept me well informed and did an excellent job on her surgery. I highly recommend this specific hospital. Read Less

If I could put down zero stars I would!!! This clinic is the most incompetent clinic I have ever seen. I brought my dog in for a dental cleaning that was under her wellness plan for free was told it would be free. My dog was there 6 hours! We went to pick her up only to be told they did not clean her teeth and I would be paying for her blood work because supposedly something was wrong and we agreed to it which is complete crap! I read what we signed and it stated if anything were to happen that would inquire extra costs we would be called.Her blood was taken to Lakeland to be tested who knows if on that ride something happened to mislead the $60 test they made me pay for..... after not cleaning her teeth which was the very reason she was there!!!!This morning at 8am I received a call asking how lilu was after her dental cleaning!!! What the heck!!!! Seriously you didn't even clean her teeth you stole my money and now you are going to call me to check up on her? I would like my money back and I will be fighting tooth and nail to get that. You will not be scamming me again. Last time she was at banesfield I was charged for a urine analysis that was supposedly done 3 times...... only 2 of them show up on her record..... $300 later she is still sick. I take her to a low cost clinic and they gave her a $20 shot and she was better. You guys are horrible and no one should trust their Animals!!! Read Less

It's over priced yes .. But it's hard ones it's more expensive out pocket:( and one of the mayor problems at this specific locations is no service on the mornings ... ! I recently moved to Davenport from Orlando area and the one I used to go on John young it's a lots better on schedules . This location need to upgrade their service it's annoying that we have to go an other locations far always just cause the times are so inconvenient . And also be carful with dropping off your pets sometimes we think they're taking good care of them when we droop them off there for our convince either work or we have to run errands but on my own experience I can tell you it's was bad tell told me to drop me dog at 11am the latest so the vet would be able to take the samples the need and I they didn't Called me till 430 pm to pick her up and it was because I have called before to see what what's going on .. So when I finally picked her up she couldn't hold and ran out the door cause she was peeing while she ran out and foam coming out of her mouth she was so dehydrated... I had to get my own bottle of water cause it's was real bad ..... So I hope some one really takes a real closed look at this situation ... I pay month to month like a lots of ppl that takes their pets to this hospitals but it should be the same service type on all of them .... Read Less

Very disappointed. They posted at front store a walk-in service for vaccines, but when I asked they said that they were too busy to provide the service. So, I requested an appointment, but the employee said she couldn't and ask me to call next day. I did it, but then she said they're too busy....again!!! When I asked AGAIN for an appointment the next one will be 2 weeks later!!! Read Less

I took my new dog in there January 2015 for a nail trim. They entered all of my information, her shit records, I paid with a credit card, and was given a printed invoice. I go to take my dog in again today, and while in the car had a feeling, so I called to confirm I wouldn't need to bring shot records again. My dog has vehicle anxiety, and I didn't want to have to drive home again, as I was already on my way. They had no record of me ever bringing her in, so I was told I needed to go back home and get the records. Forget it, I'm going to a real, local vet. If they can't even keep records for something so simple, I would be afraid to have my pets treated for anything serious. Read Less

What a terrible place. The staff is incredibly unprofessional...including the managers and the doctors! What the hell. They continuously use profanity around clients and pets and could give two shits if a pet took a sip of water or got praise while they sat in their cage all day. DONT GO HERE! Scheduling issues, rude staff and very unknowledgeable! I live 5 minutes away from this location and I drive to the Banfield off of John Young in Orlando. Driving an hour is nothing to make sure my pets are treated correctly. John Young Location is amazing, Great staff and caring doctors! Dont go to this wanna be place. I took my dog to the Banfield in oviedo and I loved it there but we relocated and this is the closest one. I'm paying for the wellness plan so I'm using them and sometimes I think about driving the 52 miles just to go back to the oviedo location.I got there and they made me watch this video about reasons to groom your pet. I didn't want to watch the video but wasn't given an option. It would have been better if I was told they were running behind. 22 mins after I was put in the room someone finally came in. It 20 mins at reception to check out. My simple check up took almost 2 hours and everyone but the vet had attitude. I was given cat joint supplements for my dog and was told they are for cats and dogs. I know there are good Banfields this just isn't one of them. Read Less

I had an amazing experience with this facility. That staff was so kind and friendly. They treated my dog Ginger with the greatest care. Nelson was great with Ginger. They informed me on the best methods to keep my dog healthy. They provided an ear cleaning for an infected ear they found. They also provided medicine for a flea problem she had which has decreased.
